That doesn't explain his bad rolling, though, which is also a hallmark of CB...

Do you have a setting on the dice roller for me? I bet you do it is hidden in the GM Menu somewhere

Exactly: it's Charging Bear's curse, but your mojo carries it over to other games.

When Nic Whatley blasted us, is he visible now? Can I get a bonus to spot him?

Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently...
I think he just threw a glowy card...then everything was on fire (it's hard to spot things through fire). You could kill some of the Shaken minions before they got up again, though.

In reply to Tan Xiaohan (msg # 871):

Yeah, but Black Jack was pointing out his presence before everything went boom...so I could have been looking in that direction when he threw the card. Which is most likely not invisible...

Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently...
Nope. Invisibility is a Seasoned power and costs a lot of points precisely because of how powerful it is in this situation. However...

He did pick up a shot glass to make a mocking toast at Black Jack, and anything he picks up that wasn't on him when he went invisible remains noticeable. So it's not the casting that would do it (he moved after he cast), but the floating shot glass that might be visible. You can make a Notice Check (-4) to try and spot that. Just remember that he gets his action before you do.

Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently...
He goes first, right?

17:12, Today: Ezekiel Starkweather rolled 2,1 using d6-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 4,3. Notice check with +2 from edge.

17:12, Today: Ezekiel Starkweather rolled 4 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4. Spending a red chip.

Total=6.

Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently...
He goes first. The 6 means he won't be getting The Drop on you when he attacks, though, which is a Good Thing. The turn order is:

Nicodemus Whateley: AD
Seth Bullock: KH
Han Lee: KC
Men in Black: KC
Ezekiel Starkweather: JS
Maddox: 10C
James Lonefeather: 7D
Black Jack: 6H
James Wilder: 4H
Nat Love: 3D
Townsfolk: last

Now, I have to get something to eat, so I'll be incommunicado for a bit while I do that.

Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently...
A couple questions for when I do go. Do I know where the guy who just blasted me (again) is?  Can I get to him and attack in one round, melee wise, given the distance between us on the map?

Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently...
1) you have a rough idea.

2) You can move up to your Pace in squares in a round without running. Running is an Action, which means you'll need to Unshake before you can run, which means a successful Spirit roll (and a -2 to all your other Trait rolls unless you get a Raise) or spending a Chip to negate being Shaken (which counts as an automatic success and raise on the Unshake roll). Assuming you Unshake and Run, you can also  Attack, with a Multiple Action Penalty of -2. That's on top of the -6 penalty you'd already have for his Invisibility and the -1 penalty for your wound. So yes, you can do it--it's just going to be insanely hard to actually hit anything.

Hmmm...sounds pretty pointless. Might wanna go stealth while closing the range. If I loose sight of him, even briefly, will I need to make a another roll to spot him?

The best way to fight folks who are invisible are with area attacks. Failing that, a shotgun like the one Nat's got could even the odds a little.

Yes you will.

Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently...
I have an area attack I can use, though I have to be able to hit something first, before I go Boom on the invisible bad guy.

That is not a power requirement, mind you. It's just I want to kick something a lot of times.

Yay tooth pullings. I'll be a bit slow posting today thanks to having minor surgery to extract a broken tooth. I'm a bit groggy from the anesthetic.

What, they didn't give you meds to leave you entertainingly high whilst posting on the internet? May the rest of your teeth last you a good long time.

My body always reacts terribly to anesthetic. I discovered recently that it runs in my family - so at least I can blame my parents.

Hope you are feeling better soon!
