Re: Fairchild's Boarding House ((OOC II))

They have, though Doc Cochran needs to roll against a couple of feeble grapple attempts to find out if they have their hands occupied or not.

Go ahead and kick 'em into next week - if you down one that somehow caught Cochran, he won't be caught any more!

13:38, Today: Doc Cochran rolled 3 using 1d4, rerolling max with rolls of 3. Opposed Grapple!

13:38, Today: Doc Cochran rolled 2 using 1d4, rerolling max with rolls of 2. Opposed Grapple!

The doc does in fact escape their hands and runs along his merry way.

Re: Fairchild's Boarding House ((OOC II))

Hey, Stray, check me on something.

If I cast a spell, other people get a chance to make Notice check and spot it, yes? But, unless something goes kablooie, do they know what spell I cast?  Especially if it's not an obvious one?

Re: Fairchild's Boarding House ((OOC II))

Depends on if they're schooled enough in the ways of Hucksters to make an educated guess. That would likely require a Knowledge (Occult) roll on their part, with potential situational penalties or bonuses. Someone like Roger would get a bonus, while someone like Fei Ya-Huang would take a penalty.

Re: Fairchild's Boarding House ((OOC II))

@Floating - Mama Avery's remark then confused me for a moment...

Did Moses ever get round to healing Horn Chips, after all that? Also, Rabbit is currently trailing Wovoka about like a particularly blood-spattered duckling.

Re: Fairchild's Boarding House ((OOC II))

@Mose: he doesn't seem to mind having air-conditioned insides...but then again, he may possibly be in shock...

@Mama: Physically speaking, Rabbit's fine...just a little scratched from near-misses, shivery and dehydrated from the drought-demon. Bunch of zombie-splatter and some smears of Raven's blood from cleaning the lazor, too. Mentally...well, I'd say "needs a hug", but you may have gathered Rabbit Does Not Like being touched.

@ Art:

I read Ten Thousand Arrows, and that seemed to be how the Cheyenne customarily addressed Art. I don't think I read anywhere about Art reacting poorly to the name (or maybe I missed it) so I assumed that was how they customarily referred to him in their language.

The younger ones certainly do (i.e. Yawns Loudly and Kills Iron Horse), though I don't think he's used to hearing it from Black Kettle or Eagles Floating (I took that as more of a half-joking way of referencing Art - maybe I'm wrong though). He didn't react poorly, per se, he was just a little surprised. Given that Wovoka told Black Kettle to go get the speckled one, it makes sense for him to refer to Art that way.

Little Crow is still entangled, right? But not dead or dying? If I got that right, Moses would like to have a word with him, after all.

In reply to Art C. Wiley (msg # 111):

Yeah, for some reason, I interpreted them having given him a name as a sign of acceptance of sorts. In any case, I'm only temporarily controlling the NPC until we see how the scene shakes out, so I just wanted to make sure I got it right.

Re: Fairchild's Boarding House ((OOC II))

Little Crow is held tight by the spell, but isn't injured (well, he has a lot of cosmetic battle damage, having just been in a fight, but no Wounds, Fatigue, or other mechanical penalties). Nice job on the Succor roll, BTW.

@Art: actually, I also assumed that Spotted Face (or Speckled Brother) was something of a name bestowed on him by the others.
