Re: Chapter 4.4: Cult of Worms (Deadwood)

08:54, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 16 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of (6+6+4)16. red chip.
08:54, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 2 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 2.
08:54, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 5,2 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 5,2. Resisting the Reverend.
Okay,... total 23. That oughta do it.

So that damage is one wound... the second a Shaken result.
Spend a white chip to soak.

08:56, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 7,2 using d8,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 7,2. Vigor.

I take the second and I'm shaken... Trying to unshake on my action.
08:57, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 2,2 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 2,2. Unshake.

Nope, so I'm spending a red chip to re-roll:
08:57, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 4,2 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4,2. red chip.

And I'm fine.

Bullock stumbles and shakes his head, trying to clear it. Then his coat is peppered by the shotgun pellets and the pain brings him back.

He squeezes off a bullet at the Reverend.

"ENOUGH!"

Then he dives for the closest cover.

09:00, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 7 using 2d6+1, rerolling max with rolls of 1,5. Damage.
08:59, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 5,5 using d10,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 5,5. Shooting Gusano.

Bullets: 4/6.
09:01, Today: Seth Bullock drew the single card: KH using the Deadlands system. Initiative.

EDIT: Actually, since I didn't score a raise, I'm at -2 to the shooting. So I'm adding my last red chip to that roll... and of course it comes out at 1.

09:02, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 1 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 1. Adding to the shooting roll.

Still, enough to hit, but not enough to make a difference. Red/blue-Chip-on-top-rolls usually hate me.

Out of chips!

Re: Chapter 4.4: Cult of Worms (Deadwood)

The reverend staggers, but the shot clearly only winged him.
Outside, the silence that falls with the last cultist going down is suddenly punctured by gunfire coming from within the building...and Bullock doesn't seem to be among the gathered people!

((OOC: That makes him Shaken.))
It's Jackie Well's turn!

Re: Chapter 4.4: Cult of Worms (Deadwood)

Jackie's first instinct was to deal with the fact McCall was regrowing before her... but he'd keep.

With nary another thought to do otherwise, she charged into the depths of the building after the Marshal.

So basically, moving.  I can roll running die if needed?  I will go ahead and do so.

19:07, Today: Jackie Wells rolled 3 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 3. Running die if needed.

19:07, Today: Jackie Wells drew the single card: BJ! using the Deadlands system.

Jackie's dash down the stairs take her right below the opened trap door. She might be able to make it if she leaps...

((OOC: That's enough movement to get down the stairs and to the trap door. The basement is 12 feet from muddy floor to the wooden trap door, but Jackie's been running and the trap door is open, so she can clear the 2 squares of movement required without a Strength roll.))

Re: Chapter 4.4: Cult of Worms (Deadwood)

Jackie hits the trapdoor and hauls herself up, which is damn hard to do in her dress. The cramped storeroom she enters is filled with boxes and moving people. It's total confusion in here, as she sees Bullock dive behind a crate, pursued by a crazy-looking fellow with purple skin and a preacher's garb, who wields a wicked-looking knife. There's a splatter of red on the wall near a slumped cultists, and she recognizes Sol Star crouching behind more crates, his body shielding some sort of cloth-covered lump. She can't see the other cultists from where she is, but she can hear them racking levers and cracking gun breeches behind her. The air smells of blood, cordite, and, oddly enough, rotten pears.

((OOC: No rolly. You had momentum on your side from the run.

Bullock, you'll be able to take cover from the shootists without moving far, but unless you want to provoke a free attack The Reverend is still in melee with you.))

Han backs away from the form of McCall, with Jackie having run off to the Marshall it was just him and Wilder to fight the abomination but Han hoped to change that as he shuffled over to the unconscious form of Jimmy.  With a few chants and some jabs with his right index and middle fingers at the correct pressure points, Han set about trying to heal the wounded man.  "Keep firing on McCall, we need to keep him weak until the Marshall and Jackie get back, otherwise I doubt we will be able to put him down for good." he calls to Wilder.

10:50, Today: Doctor Han Lee rolled 3,5 using 1d8,1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 3,5. magical healing.

Re: Chapter 4.4: Cult of Worms (Deadwood)

Deputy Wells produced a bundle of dynamite from a very undignified place.

"Hope you've got a light Marshal!"

Okay this was the 'mite I chipped to have earlier.

I am going to take liberties and assume I need to roll Throwing to get it to Marshal Bullock.  Jackie has absolutely nothing on her person that will light this.

Which will be interesting, since Jackie has no Throwing.  Okay, the Joker should cancel any penalty to draw the dynamite and throw it on the same turn.

19:06, Today: Jackie Wells rolled 3,13 using 1d4-2,1d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of (4+1)5,(6+6+3)15. Throw and Go?

LMAO.

Excellent.

"Patience, sir. This should just be a moment." Han frowns as he further tries to administer his art. Unfortunately, the events of the evening may finally be piling up on him. His initial attempts proved fruitless.  he redoubled his efforts and still nothing.

But after a redoubling of his redoubling he is able to heal the bounty hunter partially.

14:33, Today: Doctor Han Lee rolled 2,2 using 1d8-3,1d6-3, rerolling max with rolls of 5,5. magic healing once more.

14:36, Today: Doctor Han Lee rolled 0,-1 using 1d8-3,1d6-3, rerolling max with rolls of 3,2. white chip heal reroll.

Seth catches the bundle of dynamite with one hand.
"There's civilians here, Deputy Wells!"

Then he turns back toward the crazy reverend who's still swinging the knife and fires another bullet at him.

"Three more, have rifles and a shotgun!"

13:02, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 15,4 using d10,d6, rerolling max with rolls of (10+5)15,4. Shooting.
13:03, Today: Seth Bullock rolled 12 using 3d6+1, rerolling max with rolls of 5,5,1. damage.

Re: Chapter 4.4: Cult of Worms (Deadwood)

"Ah, yes." The Reverend grins as the bullet wings him. He begins laughing. "KILL THE HOSTAGES! KILL EVERYONE!" He shouts, and the minions suddenly stop aiming their rifles at Bullock and start moving around the room! The reverend takes the opportunity to stab at Bullock again.

The roughneck with the shotgun yells inarticulately and charges at Jackie, slamming his shotgun into her has he attempts to drop her back down the hole.

Antoher aims a shot at Sol Star, who'd taken cover behind some crates. The businessman cringes as the shot tears a chunk out of the wood crate, but is otherwise unharmed. Sol grabs up the whip of the thug who'd tried to choke Bullock earlier.

The last cultist, babbling and gibbering, heads over behind some crates.

"NOOOOOO!" Comes a scream from behind the boxes. "NO! SETH, PLE~"

{{BANG!}}

The corner goes deadly silent.

((OOC: Looks like it's the Good Reverend's turn.

12 damage is 1 Wound, so the Reverend attempts to Soak.

23:08, Today: Reverend Alonzo Gusano rolled 4,1 using d8,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4,1. Soak! That will do it.

Gusano order his minions about and attempts to disarm Bullock. That's a Called Shot to the arm (-2 penalty) that will force Bullock to make a Strength check vs. the damage rolled or drop his pistol.

23:10, Today: Reverend Alonzo Gusano rolled 15,-1 using d10-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of (10+7)17,1. Fighting! (Called Shot). That is a hit with a raise.

Damage: 13 (Shaken, 1 Wound, and Bullock needs to make a Strength check vs. 13 or lose his weapon)

The minions split up, going after various targets.

Shotgun Boy, since he'd need to reload this turn, instead focuses on trying to knock Jackie back down the pit. This is a Push.

23:20, Today: Worm Cultists rolled 2 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 2. Strength!

Jackie, make an opposed Strength check vs. 2, and try not to crit. fail.

One of the thugs takes a potshot at Sol Star, who has been hiding under cover since the guy who was beating him died.

23:22, Today: Worm Cultists rolled 2 using 1d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 4. Shooting!  Miss.

One of them runs over to the area where they've been hiding Bullock's wife and begins shooting at her. This movement negates her cover, and since she's tied up, he gets The Drop.

23:23, Today: Worm Cultists rolled 12 using 1d6+4, rerolling max with rolls of (6+2)8. Shooting! (The Drop). Hit and Raise.

Damage: 29 (!). That's 6 wounds for her. Since poor Martha Bullock is a Townsfolk Extra, that's going to be enough to drop her.

Gusano's card for the next round: QD))

The fleshy, sinewy skeleton twists as Wilder's boot comes down. It crabs sideways just as Wilder attempts to stomp on it, then lashes out with a bony claw. More flesh covers the hideous thing as it begins scuttling up the damn wall of the hardware store! A pair of ropy purple tentacles with wicked barbs begin flailing about the critter's intestines.

((OOC: Wilder, since you didn't roll for it (and you needed to), I'll make the rolls for you. McCall is at 3 wounds, but not Incapacitated (he healed that). Mccall's skeleton has -2 Parry from being Prone, so his Parry is currently 3.

22:54, Today: The Stray, on behalf of James Wilder, rolled 2,2 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 2,2. Fighting! Miss.

McCall goes. First, he attempts to Regenerate.

22:56, Today: Jack McCall rolled 0,-2 using d12-3,d6-3, rerolling max with rolls of 3,1. Regeneration. Fail, so spending a White Chip.

22:56, Today: Jack McCall rolled -2,1 using d12-3,d6-3, rerolling max with rolls of 1,4. white chip. Fail, but within Red Chip range.

22:56, Today: Jack McCall rolled 3 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 3. red chip. That's a Success, and McCall heals 1 Wound, leaving him at 2 wounds.

He attempts to claw at Wilder while still prone. That's a tall order, since he's wounded and still prone.

23:01, Today: Jack McCall rolled -1,0 using d6-4,d6-4, rerolling max with rolls of 3,4. Fighting!

He uses his movement to attempt to climb up the wall. James gets a free Fighting attack.))
