Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

September 13th, 1880. Night. Deadwood, Sioux nations

The demon cloud chases after Janet on her borrowed Cavalry horse.

((OOC: So, we're in another Chase. Here's a quick refresher:

  • You will roll Riding, the mourning Mist rolls Agility. You have a -2 penalty on your Ride checks for being Harrowed, while the Cloud gets +4 for being twice as fast as you are.
  • The chase will last 5 rounds, at which point you'll have arrived at the cemetery or the cloud will have forced you off your horse (and possibly killed you). once you're at the cemetery, you'll need to hope the other Whateleys have made it.
  • At the start of each round, you will roll your skill. You get 1 card for each success and Raise. You keep one as your Action Card. You can take actions on your card, but you can only make an attack if you have a higher card than the mist, and the range will be determined by the card. If you keep a Club for your Action card, you have to deal with a Complication.
  • About halfway into this, you'll reach the creek and have to ford it, which means you'll deal with an automatic Minor Obstacle. If you happen to have a club that round, it'll mean 2 complications that round.
  • Because you used DwtD to power your boost to ride, it only lasts 3 rounds. You'll need to refresh it at least once after you get to the creek.
  • Once past the creek, you'll be going right up a mountain, so all your checks will be at an additional -2.
  • The mist only has Melee attacks, so it can only attack you on a King or better, even if it has Advantage.

Make your roll for the first round. Here is the Mist: 19:33, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 8,13 using d6+4,d6+4, rerolling max with rolls of 4,(6+3)9. Agility (Chase!). 3 cards.

19:33, Today: Mourning Mist drew the 3 cards: RJ!, 6H, AC using the Deadlands system.

Unless you get the Black Joker, it will get an attack on you this turn. Your turn.))

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

The screaming, chattering, moaning mist flows around Janet and her mount as they race past the wrecked Gem theater towards Whitewood Creek. Horrible visions fill her eyes as the misty red tendrils of the thing caress her...

quote:
...He was a heap brave warrior, strong and sure of himself, but the wire around his throat cut off all his strength. How could the paleface man do this? The crazy paleface with the crazy face hair ground the garrote tighter, and tighter...

...He was just stupid Chinese. He work hard, maybe make Kang proud of the rock he mined. The town of Dusky Jewel rose, hidden in the hills...the red men not attack there. But Chin's claim far from the safety of Dusky Jewel...he thought of the girl he wanted very much to ask for marrige, thought of his last, meal, thought of anything except the sack around his head, the rope around his throat, the air going, going...

...She was gonna make it! She'd escaped the creepy duo, and was running through the forest. she'd just wanted a fresh start. Mining instead of getting paid on her back. Hard work, but she could do it! She'd just needed to find someone who'd take her on. the Doc had seemed like such a nice fella at first, and his daughter had been chatty and friendly. But when she'd seen the cabin on the ashy plane, the only spot of green for yards around, something had wanred her to jump off the wagon and run, run for her life. She'd gotten this far trusting her instincts. So she ran, gasping for breath. Because the monster was behind her...the bulky suit, wreathed in flames, like a monster from the depths of space...and it was faster than she, and soon had her in it's fiery embrace...

((OOC: It's still Shaken, yes, which means I have to check to see if it unshakes first. But it has a Joker, which will even things out.

Unshake: -1 wound, +2 Joker = +1 Unshake

21:12, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 2,6 using d8+1,d6+1, rerolling max with rolls of 1,5. unshake.

That means it gets it's action at -2, which cancels out the +2 from the Joker.

It just wants a cuddle...a cuddle of DEATH! It uses its Sweep edge to Pain Touch Janet and the Horse.

Pain Touch: -1 wound, -2 MAP Unshake, +2 Joker, +2 Touch = +1 Fighting

21:15, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 7,5 using d8+1,d6+1, rerolling max with rolls of 6,4. Fighting! (Touch Attack). 7 is a hit, but not a raise. not that a Raise would do anything anyhow, as the pain touch just makes things Shaken via horror visions.

Janet, make a Spirit roll (-2) for you and the same for he horse, or be Shaken (and all the fun falling-off-of-horses potential that can lead to).

Next round rolls: +4 speed, -1 Wound

21:18, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 6,7 using d6+3,d6+3, rerolling max with rolls of 3,4. Agility (Chase!). 1 card

Card: 5C. A 5 AND a Major Obstacle. Hmm.))

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

Janet's horse bucks and rears, throwing her; but by some miracle she lands on her feet, and starts to run like the wind.

Horse is Shaken, I'm fine.  However, I failed my Riding roll, so I'm thrown from the horse.  No matter, I can do better on my own anyway.

Card for next round: 10D.  Cost me two chips, though

00:32, Today: Janet Weiss drew the single card: 10D using a deck of 54 cards. Dealer's Choice .

00:28, Today: Janet Weiss drew the single card: 4S using a deck of 54 cards. Dealer's Choice.

00:27, Today: Janet Weiss drew the single card: JC using a deck of 54 cards. Chase draw.

00:27, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 5,5 using d8,d6. Chase roll.

00:27, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 1,5 using d10,d6. Boost Agility.

00:25, Today: Janet Weiss drew the 7 cards: 2C, 7S, 6C, 10S, 5D, AC, 5S using a deck of 54 cards. Deal with the Devil.
00:23, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 0,1 using d8-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 2,3. Riding.

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

The horse's panicked run knocks a rain barrel into the path of the mist. The cloud isn't able to stop in time, and rolls over it. Janet sees the mass shiver, almost as if in pain, and then divert up towards the bridge over the creek rather than directly chasing her.

Running water. It may be a sentient cloud of blood vapor, but still liquid. enough water directed at it may cause it to disperse temporarily, and it doesn't seem t olike crossing running water.

The creek is in front of her. Beyond is the hill leading up the mountainside. Here's hoping she doesn't trip while crossing the creek.

((OOC: I have a Complication to deal with for the Mist, which I interpret as it having trouble crossing running water. The fleeing horse knocks over a rain barrel, which provides a brief flood in the mist's path, and it's going to have to divert around the creek and use one of the bridges to cross or suffer fatigue next round.

00:40, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 1,-1 using d6-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 3,1. Agility (Complication!). That's a fail. The Mourning Mist suffers a level of Fatigue from being forced to cross running water.

Roll for next round: +4 speed, -1 wound, -1 fatigue = +2

00:43, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 5,7 using d6+2,d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 3,5. Agility (Chase!). 1 Card

Card: 4D. No complication, but no Advantage, either.

Janet, you have a minor complication to deal with in crossing the creek. Roll Agility or slip and fall and suffer a level of fatigue.

Here's where we are:

Round 1: Mist attacks, Janet unhorsed.
Round 2: Janet lands on her feet, casts boost. The Mist deals with a complication from running water
Round 3: The creek. Janet has Advantage (10D > 4D), but must deal with crossing the creek. You can attack the mist with a Bolt on your action (it's a Medium Range shot)--The Complication won't take up your whole turn. Once your finished with your turn, the next turn has you running uphill (-2 on Agility).
))

Janet vaults the creek with a graceful, flying leap, and begins running up the slop of Mount Moriah. She hears a gunshot behind here, and then a ragged cheer. The army must have figured out how to deal with the 'glom.

((OOC: Janet, as I've said before, once past the creek all your rolls will suffer a -2 penalty from the difficult terrain. That turns your 5 into a 3, meaning you'll need to spend a chip to improve it in order to keep your card.))

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

Janet races up the mountainside, into the forest surrounding Deadwood. The mist keeps place, but never gets close enough to actually touch her with its tendrils. It unleashed a horrible scream at her, but just like the last time it did so, Janet feels nothing.

Almost there. The moon is just bright enough for her to see a wall of wrought-iron rails in the distance before here. That must be the gate. Once over that, she can unleash her powers without worrying about the normals...and hopefully the Whateley clan has made it there as well.

((OOC: The Mourning Mist attempts to match Janet's 8S

Roll for next round: +4 speed, -1 wound, -1 fatigue = +2. Since it flies, it ignores the Terrain penalty.

17:19, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 11,9 using d6+2,d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of (6+3)9,(6+1)7. Agility (Chase!). 2 cards.

Cards: 7C, JH

The Mist moves into Medium Range, and has the Advantage, but since it only has melee attacks (and its only ranged power is the nightmare-inducing scream that Janet is immune to anyway, and that doesn't have a range, just an area of effect) it can't do anything to her this round.

Next round is the last round. Janet, take your action for the round (though you can't attack the mist) then make your rolls. Remember that you still have a -2 penalty from the terrain.))

Janet focuses the last of her energies into a mad dash to the gate.

Sustaining the Boost with 1 PP, so I don't have to roll again.  By my count I have 1PP left.  I will Defend if I can (for +2 parry, not Full Defense).

23:41, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 7,5 using d10-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 9,(6+1)7. Agility (chase).

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

The gate is in sight, but it looks barred and locked from where Janet stands. Much simpler to just climb over the gate, which she can do with little trouble--obviously the people of Deadwood haven't had any major trouble with anything trying to get out, and the gate is more of an ornament than an impediment.

But it slows her down enough for the mist to catch her.

Janet feels a chill creeping into her bones as the blood mist envelops her, the whispering core of ghostly faces laughing as they sap the life force from her. She feels something flutter in her chest...something almost, but not quite, her heart, as if she had a caged butterfly within her beating against her ribs in a frantic attempt to escape the oncoming doom.

But luck is with her. Though chilled to the bone, she can see plenty of shadows lining the graveyard. And out of one of the larger shadows steps the trio of Roger, Nicodemus, and Dolores, almost out of thin air. The trio are in a circle, holding hands. They turn and face the mist.

"Oh no, this won't do." Nicodemus says, shuffling his deck of cards. "You do not get to harm my family and escape unscathed."

"Ring around the rosies!" Dolores sings. She begins to spin as she takes in the graves around her. "Pockets full of posies! Ashes! Ashes! All rise up!"

Roger staggers, his wounds seeming to have caught up with him. "Bother. Can never do that trick right carrying passengers." He mutters as he falls to one knee. "But at least the cavalry, such as it is, has arrived."

((OOC: Remember that you have Whateley Blood, so you can harm yourself if you need to gain Power Points (and no, you can't soak wounds or fatigue caused by drawing on your blood for power). You get 2 pp per level of Fatigue you inflict, and 1d6+1 pp for each Wound.

The Mist rolls for its turn. 01:32, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 7,3 using d6+2,d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 5,1. Agility (Chase!). 1 Card

01:33, Mon 16 Dec 2013: Mourning Mist drew the single card: RJ! using the Deadlands system.

Well, that's bad for Janet.

The Mourning Mist gets in range to attack her. Its attacks are Touch attacks, so Janet's Defense maneuver is canceled out. The critter still has a -2 from Wounds and Fatigue, but this is canceled out by the creature's +2 Joker bonus. The mist has tired of playing and is using its Chilling Touch, which can actually cause harm.

01:43, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 7,14 using d8,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 7,(6+6+2)14. Fighting! (Touch Attack). That is a hit with a raise.

Damage: 14 (12 rolled, +2 Joker) -- Shaken and 2 Wounds for Janet, and you also need to make a Smarts roll vs. 14 or loose your Boost (because you're actually at the point of maintaining it, rather than just relying on the initial duration).

And at this point we're back to normal combat rounds. Janet, when you draw cards, you'll also be making rolls for the other Whateleys.

Mist Card for next round: 4S))

Soaked 1 wound, I take 1 and am Shaken.  I drop the Boost, it's serves it's purposes.

09:19, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 5,5 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 5,5. Vigor.

Spirit roll to Unshake.  Luck is not with me, so I have to spend another Blue chip to reroll.  Forgot to add the penalty, so I just make it on the reroll.  I believe you use the house rule allowing one to act at a -2 penalty, so I'll just Defend for now.

09:24, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 5,2 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 5,2. Blue chip reroll.
09:23, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 1,1 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 1,1. Spirit (Unshake)

Dolores raises three Zombies, which will attack next turn as they claw their way out of the dirt.  They last for 1hr normally.

09:35, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 3,6 using d12,d6. Dolores (Raise 3 zombies).

Nicodemus will blast the Mist with his Bolt power.  He hits for a whopping 4 points of damage.

09:40, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 4 using 2d6. Damage.
09:39, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 3,5 using d12+1,d6. Nicodemus (Bolt).

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

Nicodemus unleashes a nearly invisible wave of energy from his cards, which ruffles the mist but doesn't seem to do anything to it.

Dolores dances among the gravestones, singing softly. The earth trembles as the potter's field begins to stir, and hands push themselves out of the ground.

The mist envelops the sorcerers, and Janet feels the cold sting of the thing's insubstantial tentacles again. Dolores gasps at the sudden chill.

"Cousin, dear!" Roger shouts. "Call the wind! Call the Shiwana!"

((OOC: Any particular reason you didn't have him throw multiple bolts or a more damaging one? He's got the power points. Also, zombies raised by Dolores' power last indefinitely, but are only under her control for an hour. Remember that Dolores can also summon spirits, which, being spiritual, can actually harm the mist (unlike the zombies, which are just cannon fodder)

The Mourning Mist is annoyed enough to move where it can Reach all the Whateleys and Janet and Sweep them with its Chilling Touch. This is a Touch Attack, but the bonus is negated by it's wounds and fatigue.

20:26, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 2,4 using d8,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 2,4. Fighting! (Touch Attack).

Not really going to hit anyone there, except Dolores who has no ranks in Fighting at all.

Damage: 4. And it can't even hurt her with that attack.

Yeah, two reasons:  1) I have an older edition of the book, and I dont know how the rule has changed, only that it has; and 2) I hit the wrong entry in the dice roller.  I also don't have the writeup for Dolores' Contact Spirit World power.  Could you give me a quick rundown on it?

OOC: The only major change to bolt was that you can no longer fire multiple 3d6 blasts. The costs for multiple 2d6 blasts or making a single 3d6 blast haven't changed.

As mentioned in this thread, msg#5:

quote:
Contact Spirit World
Rank: Special
Power Points: Special
Range: Special
Duration: 1 hour (1/hour)

This power is used to contact the Hunting Grounds in various ways. As the arcane character goes up in Rank he grows more skilled at manipulating spirits and their realm. The Marshal has more information on all the following uses. A character may learn this spell while of Novice Rank, but cannot make use of the more powerful functions until he attains the appropriate Rank.

A shaman who possesses the crystal from an uktena’s skull (see the Deadlands Marshal’s Handbook) receives a +1 on Tribal Medicine rolls to use the contact spirit world power, due to the gemstone’s intrinsic connection to the Hunting Grounds. Similar tokens may be available for other Arcane Backgrounds at the Marshal’s whim.

Cost Rank       Power
3    Novice     Summon Lesser Spirit
4    Seasoned   Summon Normal Spirit
5    Veteran    Spirit Travel
6    Heroic     Group Spirit Travel
7    Legendary  Open Portal

Summon Lesser Spirit: The caster calls forth a lesser spirit. He cannot summon manitous, and the caster can’t specify the type of spirit he wants to call up unless he knows an individual spirit’s true name. The Marshal has a handy table on page 66 to determine which spirit answers the call.

Once the spirit arrives the caster engages it in an opposed Spirit test. If the caster fails the spirit vanishes. On a roll of snake eyes the spirit attacks the caster in a rage, but vanishes as soon as it or the caster takes one wound. On a success the spirit reveals its abilities and the caster can demand one service from it.

This must be a single, simple, and specific act on behalf of the summoning character (e.g., “Guide me to the village of my ancestors,” or “Guard me from harm until I leave the Hunting Grounds.”). With a raise the caster also learns the spirit’s true name, and the act can be more complicated and include a few contingency plans along the way.

Summon Normal Spirit: The caster calls forth a normal spirit. This is just like summoning a lesser spirit, except for the higher Power Point cost and Rank requirement. Oh, and the spirit is likely to be more powerful. Never call up anything you can’t put down. (Greater spirits cannot be summoned with this power—they are unique beings and can only be called through specific rituals known only to the very old and very wise.)

A shiwana is a Normal spirit, and Dolores already knows this particular shiwana's name.

"Spread out!" Janet hissed, as they avoided the lunging tendrils.  She pointed her derringer at the spirit, but the bolt of fire was definitely weaker than before.

Nicodemus tries Bolt again.  Hit for 7 damage.
Janet uses her last PP to Bolt as well, another hit for 7 damage.
Dolores gets a 4 versus the spirit.  As that's not nearly enough, I spend a white chip on her behalf to get an 11.

Nicodemus' bolt also seems weaker, and he frowns. "Time to change tactics." he says.

Dolores, still dancing, begins singing a nonsense rhyme.

"Voiceless, it cries!
Wingless, flutters!
Toothless, bites!
Mouthless, mutters!"

A ferocious wind sweeps across the graveyard. A dusty whirlwind takes shape. Janet feels her mouth go dry as the vortex seems to suck all the moisture from the air.

"Hello again, Loci Tate!" Dolores chirps. "I have something I'd like you to do for me."

Sibilant words screech in the wind...the vortex doesn't speak so much as wail. But what it says is understandable enough. "Crazed whore! Death dancer! Away with you! I will feast on the water in your blood, and dry you like a desert!"

"Now that isn't very nice!" Dolores says, wagging her finger at the whirling mass. "After all the times I let you play, you owe me!"

"I owe you nothing, spawn of a line of demon-bitches! I go where I will! I rape what I wish! I will drink your blood! Where is your baby, eh? I will dry the flesh on his bones!"

Dolores lets out an ungodly screech, and waves curtly. The column of wind vanishes.

Roger, leaning against a tombstone, sighs. "Well, that could have gone better."

((OOC: Dolores still needs to bargain with the spirit, but I can handle that. With her Raise, she gets a +2 bonus on her Spirit roll.

23:11, Today: The Stray, for the NPC Shiwana, rolled 13 using 1d10, rerolling max with rolls of (10+3)13. Opposed Spirit.

That's a fail. Dolores loses the spirit.

What was your card for the next round? Also, think of things the Whateleys can do that might be effective against a creature made of mist...))

I'm thinking.  What would Whirlwind do to the Mist?

21:40, Today: Janet Weiss drew the single card: 5S using a deck of 54 cards. Init.

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

The misty tendrils reach forth again. This time the chill is sharper, and cuts like a knife through all the Whateley clan...

((OOC: You can cast it and find out. }:D

More seriously, it would potentially cause damage to the Mourning Mist. While the windstorm is going, the mist would need to make a Vigor roll or suffer a level of Fatigue as well as being Shaken, and if it crit-fails or is incapacitated, it will be dispersed. It also suffers a -2 penalty on it's rolls because of it's composition. The trouble you'll have is getting past its high Vigor (which is d12+2) which, even with it's current wounds and fatigue, is still a pretty high bar to clear. Janet has a way of weakening it with her powers, if she wants to DwtD or cut into herself for her Whateley Blood Magic edge.

But, naturally, it gets to go first. It ignores the zombies and concentrates on Sweeping at the Whateleys it can reach (Roger moved out of range). Same roll as before.

00:39, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 4,5 using d8,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4,5. Fighting! (Touch Attack). This one is better. It hits all of you.

Damage: 13 Nic and Dolores have the same Toughness as Janet because they're squishy wizards, not fighting types. That means this attack deals a Shaken and 2 wounds to each of you unless you soak.

Nic and Dolores each have 2 white chips, so you can spend one from each of them to attempt a soak roll. They both have a d6 Vigor.

Card: AC))

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

Janet yells at Dolores "Attack its mind!"  With that, Janet forcefully hurls her deck of cards into the mist, some sticking into it like a gruesome fog.

Nicodemus soaks one wound and is Shaken.  I don't know what his Spirit is, so he'll spend a chip to auto-unshake.
Dolores soaks both wounds and is not shaken.
Janet soaks both wounds and is not shaken, but needs to spend a Blue chip to do so.

02:00, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 5 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 5. Blue chip.
01:14, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 4,4 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4,4. Soak (Janet).
01:13, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 3,11 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 3,(6+5)11. Soak (D).
01:13, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 4,2 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4,2. Soak (N).

Janet will DwtD and get a Straight, more than enough PP to cast Lower Trait.  That's a 7 to lower its Spirit.

Dolores will cast Puppet on the mist, getting a 7.  If that isn't enough, Janet will spend a Blue chip on her behalf.  She'll order it to disperse and reform elsewhere, like downtown Atlanta.

Nicodemus will cast Windstorm.  He gets a 12 on his Spellcasting roll.  If the mist is still there, it will be Blinded on top of the other penalties.

02:13, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 12,2 using d12+1,d6. WIndstorm.
02:09, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 7,1 using d12,d6. Puppet.
02:08, Today: Janet Weiss rolled 7,2 using d10-1,d6-1. Lower Trait.
02:05, Today: Janet Weiss drew the 2 cards: BJ!, 9H using a deck of 54 cards. Dealer's Choice.
02:04, Today: Janet Weiss drew the 7 cards: 3H, 5S, 7C, 6S, 8C, 2H, QH using a deck of 54 cards. Deal With The Devil.

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

Janet's cards swirl around the misty core, sparking with eldritch magic.

Dolores begins to chant:
"Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
I wish, I wish he’d go away!

Go away, go away, don’t you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don’t slam the door!"

With a screech, the mist suddenly dissolves, sinking into the ground of the graveyard just as Nicodemus readies his cards.

A silence falls, punctured by Dolores laughing and the shuffling of the trio of zombies she'd called up.

"Well." Says Nicodemus, rubbing his shoulders to bring back some warmth to them. "That was fun. Who's hungry? I could simply murder a steak right now."

((OOC: Resolving rolls:

Resisting Lower Trait: 13:07, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 5,1 using d8-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 7,3. Opposed Spirit. Fail. Janet lowers its spirit to d6.

Resisting Puppet: 13:10, Today: Mourning Mist rolled 2,3 using d6-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 4,5. Opposed Spirit. Also a fail, and enough of on that Dolores gets a Raise over it.

Since the order to disperse happened before the Windstorm, I don't think Nic needs to call it up.

Incidentally, I noticed that you've been rolling his d12+1 spellcasting without also adding the +1 to his Wild Die. The +1 he gets from the Professional edge acts like any other bonus in Savage Worlds--it is added to both the skill die and the Wild Die. But then, you also forgot his wound penalty there.

With the mist dispersed for now, that means combat is over.))

Janet nods.  "For some reason, I'm famished too.  Lets get these wounds patched up, then find some food.  I also have the strangest craving for a rare steak."

((OOC: Alrighty.

Getting healed at Doc Cochran's place will cost $3, or $5 if you want him to be discreet once you've left.

It will take about 40 minutes for you all to get treated, with Roger needing healing sooner to make sure he remains in the Golden Hour.

After that, what are your plans for the rest of the evening? I'm moving these threads to a close so we can move on to the next few days, though I think a large part of what Janet might be up to will depend on the outcome of the Cult of Worms thread.))

Janet doesn't know anything about what's going on in that thread, so she'll probably head to bed after eating some disturbingly rare steak.  It's been an eventful day.

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

Well, at some point she's going to go check in with her cultists and see what they're doing.  Then she's going to do some more digging on Bullock, to see if she can find anything to help Maddox become marshal, as that's her current job.  She also wants to experiment with her ghosting ability, to see what it can do (and what happens if she tries a ranged attack while ghosted).

Given everything that's happened in Chapter 4, I think an Advance is warranted, especially since there's going to be a time skip.

Re: Chapter 4.1.3: On Mount Moriah, All Covered in Blood (Janet)

Do you have a date for Janet's birth? If she's going to become a full-fledged member of the Enlightened Society, they base a lot of their mysticism and rituals on the phases of the moon, and the moon sign under which someone was born is considered particularly important. I have the feeling Janet is a Nascent Moon (Roger is, as well), but I wanted to check with you first.
