Re: Update

I'm not sure how "street level" would work with a party of superheroes. I mean, there's a finite amount of muggers looking to pay their crazy American medical bills y'all can punch into a gritty paste before they all decide to die quietly instead, so surely threat levels would escalate...?

@Wilder - Deadpool + Sith + Bad Fairy sounds highly entertaining. Any favourite stories there?

Re: Update

It works fine, as long as you allow for the muggers to have superpowers as well. And as for escalation, The Green Goblin may be dangerous, but he's not Doctor Doom-level dangerous. The Joker is extremely dangerous, as is Lex Luthor, but neither of them have world-threatening powers like Thanos or Sinestro.

Re: Update

If they had superpowers, somehow I doubt they'd stop at street-level crime...

If an entire gang of supers went after the Joker, he'd probably hide (or turn himself in and start tormenting the police for the hell of it) causing instability in the freak circles until some mighty villian showed up to sit in the gap, and Lex would hire plus plus supervillans...so either in kind or number there's going to be escalation. Also it'd be pretty depressing for PCs to punch down as they levelled up unless they really really loved making mugger hummus.

I'll stop corbie-picking the concept, though, since you know the only way I'd ever be persuaded to play a supers game would be if everyone had to pick their PC idea from their first (preference-filtered, naturally) roll on this thing: http://www.seventhsanctum.com/...ame=superheronameorg

Re: Update

Yeah, true enough. Drake City's gangs have already escalated to superpowered street gangs, though, so the escalation is already baked in to the premise.

Lol...I got an "Organoparagon." It's a bit sillier than I'm going for, sadly.

Come on, who wouldn't want to play Moth Warrior, Amphibian Nullifier or Green Rock? Or Slap Snake? *snicker* Ooh, I think I saw Car Shaman on a Russian TV ad once...

Or have feathers and nullify things? [facepalm] I just misread "Clock Punch" and went "but that's not a superpower..."

!!! Fish Fighter!

...or Tiny Ghost...is drinking people's beer a superpower? Or being a kasa-obake?

Did you manage to roll that up? Actually, never mind, it's a pretty great superhero(villain?) name for an undead cat-burglar type...you can just picture the Drake City Post's headlines: mouldy rogue steals priceless ornaments!    mouldy rogue gets away!

Everytime the OOC thread blows up I always find myself hopping in two days late. Anyway, I agree with everyone else. I am completely ok with waiting until you are back in the Deadlands groove. Going over to look at your Supers game right now.

Hi Han!

@Stray - add a supervillian and highly specifically modified Cordyceps fungus and that sounds like a Plot.

Wow. Has it really been over a year and a half since our last game posts here?

The coming of Good Intentions has me thinking Deadlands again. Are there any of you out there who want to dust this game off?

Well, there's a game alert I didn't see coming. I'd certainly be down to saddle up again, though I'm unsure of my ability to keep up with the frenetic pace the game used to have.

Given my work load these days, I'm not sure I'd be able to manage the pace it was at before. Right now I'm updating my current game once a week (and plan top keep that around) so the pace would be around that.
