Attention Harrowed Folks!

There's been a major change to how Harrowed work as of Stone and a Hard Place. You get the full benefits of being Undead (including +2 toughness and +2 to overcome being Shaken). Your +1 bonus to Grit has become a blanket +2 on Fear checks. Most healing magics no longer have an effect on a Harrowed (black magic and weird science work, chi powers, blessed powers, and shaman powers do not).

No beneficial miracles or tribal medicine powers can affect Harrowed, only the detrimental ones. It doesn’t matter whether the hero’s currently in the saddle or not; neither the powers of good nor nature spirits are willing to ignore the Harrowed’s demonic house guest. Chi masters, hucksters, hexslingers, and mad scientists affect Harrowed with their powers as usual—with the same limitation on healing as noted above. Regardless of the host’s nature or Dominion score, Harrowed always count as supernaturally evil due to the manitou inside them.

There have been some other changes and options. See the House Rules thread for more info.

Also, there has been (as I suspected there would be) an official errata on the Ghost edge.

quote:
Ghost

Requirements: Heroic, Harrowed

As his first action during his turn, the Harrowed can become incorporeal with a successful Spirit roll (he can perform no actions, including free actions, before using Ghost). Once incorporeal, he must remain in that state until the beginning of his action on the next round (unless he suffers damage, see below). While ghosted, the Harrowed is intangible—unaffected by the physical world and unable to affect it—though he is still visible and magical attacks affect him normally.

The deader may remain ghosted as long as he wishes, but it requires concentration and inflicts a –2 penalty to all other Trait rolls while it is maintained. With a free action, the Harrowed can become tangible again at the beginning of his turn. If he somehow suffers damage (Shaken, or one or more wounds)—say, from a magical or supernatural attack—while in this state, he must make a Spirit roll at –2 or immediately become tangible.

Notice the vast increase in the rank requirements. As none of the characters meet the rank requirements, you must switch out Ghost for a different Harrowed edge. As I am a nice GM, I will allow you to pick two Harrowed Edges instead of just one to replace the Ghost edge. Use the updated list in the House Rules thread to pick. just make sure they are Seasoned rank or less.

I'm fine with that.  Not sure how we'll retcon things, but we can handwave it some-- Janet's only really used Ghost right after she absorbed the shadow, so we can say it was a once-off from a variant of counting coup.

Re: Attention Harrowed Folks!

I'm fine with handwaving that as well, now that we've firmed up what the Shadow can do for Janet.

Sounds good. Make sure you note the increase to your Toughness.

In reply to Tan Xiaohan (msg # 23):

lol. Don't worry. Maybe you'll find someone else to help you. Maybe Black Kettle. That was was a joke, ha ha, fat chance.

Indeed. They converted a ton of the Harrowed powers and Hindrances from Book o' The Dead over. The powers they didn't cover are mostly covered by normal Edges (Arcane Protection, Berserker,) but there are a few they didn't convert at all (Bad Mojo, Death Bond, Etchin' [which they gave to Stone exclusively], Eulogy, Evil Eye, Ferryman's Fee, and others). And some of the powers (Death Mask) were nerfed (Death Mask originally allowed for disguises at higher level, which was one of it's primary purposes).

Re: The Grand Hotel ((OOC III))

Also they added the Hexslinger, one of my favorite Arcane Backgrounds from Classic. It is good to see a lot if not all of these things from Classic making their way into Reloaded.

I haven't read up on the Hexslinger yet. I might make Darius Carter (a bad guy you haven't met) one of them, though. Maddox probably remains a Huckster.

Does anyone want to take up Nat Love for some of the combat rounds? That way, the fate of the PCs at the Woolly Buffalo are in their own hands, rather than mine.

About how long would PanthArt estimate that it will take for them to get back to the camp?

I reckon that thread needs to be two threads badly...I can't tell where in init. you are either. Also the wind demon is called Sue now.
