Susan bit her lip nervously.
"Well, it was kind of a magical drug.  I'm still analyzing it.  How does your magic feel?"

Allura tried to produce a bit of magic.

Magic sputtered and lept about Allura's hands a moment.

To Susan's surprise that there was any magic at all the ward having been so strong.

"Looks like I have a little juice left still. What do you mean a magic drug ? Like a potion ?"

Rory spoke to Allura. "Hey I got you some water. It should help you feel better. Well at least, it won't make things worse."

"Thank you Rwar." She took the glass and drank from it.
"I only remember heading home on my motorcycle. So who kidnapped me when I feel better there will be hell to pay !"

Susan sighed heavily.
"They put a spell on you to drain your magic.  I suspect they want to do the same to me.   I'm hoping your magic will return."

"What ? What do you think might ? You mean this might be permanent !"

Aware that psychologically, self confidence has an effect on magical ability, Susan tried to choose her words carefully.
"This is more advanced than anything I've done, but it should be only temporary.  Otherwise you'd have nothing left. and that wouldn't be efficient for the witches to use.   I believe your magic will be back in full soon."

"Well that's a relief. Hey wait a minute they just wanted to use, you and me as magic batteries ? What were they planning to do ?"

Susan bit her lip again.
"it seems likely.  Or something even darker.  "

She sighed, frowning in worry.
"One was definitely tougher then me, and the brains of the group....and might be some kind of long lost relative.  It was kind of freaky."

Rory seemed curious. "So there are other witches in your family?"

"Remind me to give your relatives a broken nose when I see them."

Susan made a face at the thought of having such crazy relatives.   She began casting some magic.
"Perhaps it's time to get some expert advice."
Weaving magical energy, Susan tried to summon her mentor, Buddee Kappy, her deceased maternal grandmother, to help her.

She was still a little intimidated by the ghost, but needed help.
"Bubbee Kappy....Grandmother....Please tell me...who were those two witches....are they long lost relatives?"

A ghostly form coalesced in front of Susan.   It looked like an old woman, very grandmotherly and kind.   Susan smiled tentatively.
"Bubbee Kappy. ... I'm so glad you..."

Suddenly the matronly spectre seemed to lunge forward, looking more wolfish and angry, stopping short of Susan'shrugged face, as if deciding, at the past second, not to bite the girl's nose off.
" What in the WORLD is wrong with you, you dumb shiksa? !?  I work and I slave to teach you the magic of this family,  and now I have to teach you how to THINK also??" "

Though nearly falling out of her chair in terror and surprise,  Susan tried to rally a bit,  trying, with obvious failure, to stare down her imposing mentor.
"Hey, hey, hey!!  Now wait just a....."

Bubbee Kappy drew herself up, somehow looking larger.
" Do NOT 'hey' me, little fake witch!!  Use that matzo ball you call a brain for something besides skipping school, for once.    Do you really think that if there were others from this family I could teach, I wouldn't be doing just that??   Or that I wouldn't have warned you about them all before this???   Those two aren't real witches.   They're YOU.  The two sides of your head that always fight each other. "

Allura blinked and almost jumped off the couch !!!


"Are we supposed to be able to see her ?" She looked to Susan then Rory.

Susan, still reeling from her grandmother's words, blinked in confusion at Allura's.
"You.....you can SEE her?!?"

Bubbee Kappy merely smirked.
" That's something else for you to ponder, little duckling. "


And with that, the ghost vanished

Allura nodded a bit stunned at the moment, "What did she mean those witches are you ?"

Susan shook her head, though more in a desire of denial than denial itself.
"They're.....me?  They're not real....they're all in my mind....And you can all see Bubbee Kappy...who's also in my mind...so..."

She looked around herself, horrified.
"Everything here...is all in my mind....we're in MY MIND!!!"

Allura looks at Susan then begins laughing.

"Right were in your mind, wouldn't everything be more romantic instead of this ?"

Purposefully not looking at Rory, Susan blushed.
"Since when have I ever been good at romance?"

She stood around, looking at the room with a mixture of annoyance and dismay, and also with an expression of betrayal, as if the entire world were, literally, out to get her.

"No...if I made this world in my mind, and dragged all of you inside it....then this world is made because of what I did to my parents when I lost control of my magic.  I don't want to be happy, I want to be....."

Then she paused, wincing as she tried to work past the lump in her throat.
"..I obviously want to be...punished..."

Rory seemed a bit uncomfortable. "Hum... You're not really bad at it."

"So what like were in a nightmare or something, I am trying to understand what's going on ? If were in your head how did we get here and can you abracadabra us back to Arkham, OUR Arkham ?"

Susan glanced at Rory,  then quickly looked away.   It was clear to the audience that she wasn't sure whether the smile gratefully,  blush uncomfortably,  or will herself to sink into the ground from embarrassment.
She sighed, trying to concentrate on the problem at hand.

"I'm not sure how this happened,  especially with you guys here.   Heck, I'm not even positive. ...well, never mind.  I just have to figure this out.   Perhaps I need to confront those "witch sisters"?
