Re: Ep 15 The Wonderful Witch of Arkham Scene 18

Susan tried to hide it from the women, but it was obvious she wasn't sure what to make of the witches who may or may not be her subconscious.   They were obviously evil, or at least amoral, but it was hard to take them seriously as evil in an electric car.  She kept expecting Ed Begley Jr or Matt Damon to pop out at any time

Trying to keep her sense alert for the "tragic but inevitable betrayal", Susan entered the house.

Helena looked over and smiled, "Come on in, can I get you some tea ?"

The house looked very well appointed and proper with rich woods and polished artwork from around the world. The oddest thing was it looked a bit like Susans home.

Re: Ep 15 The Wonderful Witch of Arkham Scene 18

Susan looked around, obviously a little unnerved by the similarities to her own house.  Though she realized she shouldn't have been surprised, considering everything she knew about the sisters.

"No thank you.  I had my morning tea already."
she sat down on a chair, trying to sit very lady like, as if competing with these two dopplegangers for who was the most sophisticated.  She knew she'd lose, but it was worth a try.

Greselda takes a seat, "Now, have you decided to stay and learn or are you going to flee destiny ?"

Helena looked slightly put off by Susan not having tea and pouted.  She then smiled to herself, "Well I will make a cup for myself then." She walked off.

Greselda says, "Well all things come with sacrifice are you willing to give up your old life for a brand new one filled with power ?"

Susan frowned.
"Not really.   I don't have a perfect life, but I like it.   Why do I have to give it up?"

Greselda, "You didn't think that power would come without sacrifice did you ?"
She cackled, "How wonderfully naive."

Re: Ep 15 The Wonderful Witch of Arkham Scene 18

Susan shrugged, unimpressed.
"Please don't be condescending,  It doesn't really help convince me that you have anything to teach me."
She smiled wryly.
"Obviously I know about sacrifice, Greselda.  The power I HAVE has already come with great sacrifice.  But it's 'naive' to think that my only options are all or nothing, like I'd have to become a hermit in order to learn anything useful."

Re: Ep 15 The Wonderful Witch of Arkham Scene 18

It was clear that Susan suspected that Greselda knew the truth, but was unwilling to volunteer anything.
She smiled grimly.
"If anything I was the one who made all the sacrifices, even if some of them were forced on me.
I've sacrificed my time, both doing what I'd rather do, as well as time with my friends and family.  I spend most of my time learning magic and the rules of the magical world, as well as the other things I need to learn.
What else do you think I should sacrifice?"

Greselda, "Don't mistake the sacrificee for the sacrifice. Now though you were incredibly lucky even though you saw it as unlucky. Your still here are you not ? You have power and the privilege of wealth. Your family no longer stands in the way of your taking your place. Why do you fight it all so ? Do you wish to go back to the way things were ?"

Re: Ep 15 The Wonderful Witch of Arkham Scene 18

Susan frowned at the double, and triple, meanings.  Of course Greselda knew everything about her, but did she really understand it?
"I'll admit that the night I...um..'gained my magic' could have gone a lot worse, especially if SHE hadn't screwed up.  But what do you mean 'my family is no longer in my way'?"

Re: Ep 15 The Wonderful Witch of Arkham Scene 18

Susan looked up at the 'good twin' with a raised eyebrow that clearly told the audience that 'good' was extremely relative, no pun intended.
"Well...I suppose my life would certainly be easier if they knew nothing of my...hobbies...."

Flashes of her parents, annoying and domineering but clearly caring and loving, showed in her mind, and she thought of them lying on the asphalt of the driveway where they'd fallen after her "incident" upon returning from...Pluto?  It was all so hazy.   The pretty brunette seemed to come to a decision.  She shook her head.
"No.  They're not holding me back.  They're teaching me.  Not well, I'll grant you. but they are.  They're teaching me about the world.  The same world I want to live in and deal with, and I need them.  They're a part of my education and training as my books and my spells."

Re: Ep 15 The Wonderful Witch of Arkham Scene 18

The house starts to shake and various fragile items fall off wall displays and cabinets.

Helena falls over and Greselda holds the table tightly.

Helena glances over, "She has made her choice Gres, she isn't ready yet."

Susan feels this swirling sickening feeling and passes out.

End Scene.
