Rory and Susan slip past some guards and make their way into the private stacks section.

Rory began talking. "The pharaoh spoke with me again in Atlantis. I was able to block his intrusions... I think, but if he can reach us even there... I was hoping that we could find an enchantment or seal in one of the books. Something to create a barrier around our minds."
This message had punctuation tweaked by the player at 10:15, Sun 18 Oct 2015.

Susan shivered a little, justifiably creeped out by the idea.
"There might be something in my books, as well.  But this is probably the best place to start."

"Yeah, I really don't like this situation. I hope we find something soon, either here or at your place. The question is, what do we do if we don't find anything about that anywhere." Rory was thoughtful for a few moments.  "I think that we may need to start visiting our contacts one by one until we find someone who knows something."

Susan sighed gloomily, and nodded.
"So there's no time like the present.   Who do we know that we can talk to, besides our personal mentors, after we've exhausted our libraries?"

P.S. remember you two, you can come up with a D6 contact or resource at any time and add to the game overall. It's just a plot point away.

Before they start, Susan will find a quiet place to try to commune with her ghostly grandmother, Bubbee Kappy.

As always, the pretty witch was a little intimidated by her dead relative, while also being annoyed by her.  It was clearly a strange dynamic.  She screwed up her courage and nodded.
"Well, I was hoping there would be a spell, or some kind of ritual to protect the mind from psychic intrusion?"

"I would say you should read a book, but apparently you already have." Bubbee Kappy raised one spectral hand.

"Stealing ones mind against unwanted intrusion is possible. Why dear are there secrets you wish to keep from your handsome friend here ?"

Susan sighed and rolled her eyes in embarrassment.
"I wish.   Sadly, I've been a little too free with my secrets with him.  But I suppose since he hasn't run screaming I shoudl be grateful.  But there's someone else, someone nasty and all "ancient evil-y" that I'm worried about.  "

"Oh, what have you gotten yourself into child."

"Alright I can teach you a mantra to give you a mind like a stone that should help."

In reply to Bubbee Kappy (msg # 12):

Susan nodded, seeming to be visibly relieved.
"Thank you, Bubbee Kappy.   Anything you can do would be wonderful and might save lives."

Susan's 'grandmother' places her fingers on Susan's head. Her touch cold but a flow of information comes to Susan.
