"I remember the pajama guy but how do you contact someone like that ? We were out like on Pluto then.  You think the pajama guy is connected with those Shoggoths ?"

Allura kept up the sparing moving much better out of the water.

"You advance now and I'll defend."

Zoey defended against Allura as they continued to spar.  "I dont think so.  He seemed more helpful than harmful.  You know? He helped us free those other aliens and brought us all home safely. Ooh, what about Farm Boy?  He's as strong as I am at least! Wanna take a road trip with me? It'd actually be a water trip, I'd take different routes.  Just for fun or something."

She laughed and blocked a swing.

"Last time I checked Kansas wasn't by any oceans. Still he was pretty easy on the eyes. Yeah I got the feeling the green guy was a good guy too but he has to know something about aliens, and those Shoggoths were pretty darn alien."

Allura had more fun advancing then defending and got into it.

"Well no, of course it isnt.  But rivers and oceans do connect here and there.  Like I said, it would be a water trip."

Zoey continued defending against Allura, enjoying the workout with her friend. "I've got a cousin here too.  I'd like to meet him when I can, get to know my family.  Maybe he knows something about what's going on that he can tell us?  Between us and Susan and Rory, we should be able to find a way to beat these things.  Cant wait to see what our Senior year is going to be like."

"Pigs will fly, hell will freeze over, honest politicians will be in office." Allura says and laughs.

She keeps up the attacks.

"I still think a plane flight would be better then trying to swim there."

She shrugged, ducked another blow and swung again "Well if you really want to take the easy way there, I guess we could do that.  Someday though, I'd like to take a trip to Europe, especially Greece, taking the water ways.  I bet it would be kind of fun to do it like that."

"Somehow I don't see myself growing flippers any time soon so." Allura smiked.

"You sure are good with that trident, you must have been practicing quite a bit and if you do go to Greece, I want to come along."

"Sir Havren's been training me for a while.  I come down here on weekends for a few hours each day and on school vacation time too.  I want to stay during the summer break for a while, maybe off and on."

She smiled, "We'd be going by water, there and back.  But I can set something up for in between when you need air and a dry place. You definitely have to come with me."

"How about a cruiseship ?  a nice little happy compromise."

"Nah, only Susan has the money for that." Allura sighed.

"So, how come you Atlantians don't like, let people know your around ? I mean I can see not wanting to join the UN, but there are a lot of you."

"I dont think humans are ready to know there are aliens out there, let alone on Earth.  They're too violent and destructive, you know that as well as I do.  That's some of the things I want to learn more about.  I really dont know a whole lot about Atlantis' history, only bits and pieces."

"Yeah I guess humans are a tad excessive." Allura smiled, "Of course some of us are cool enough to know about Atlantis. I am sure you could learn a lot and become a marine biologist or something like that if you really wanted.  You have one heck of an edge on the competition, I wonder if Jacques Cousteau was an Atlantian."

"That's what I wanted to do before I found out who I was.  Now, I kind of want to be both. Ooh, that would be cool if he was.  Or maybe even friends with an Atlantean."

She takes a step back holding up a hand. "Lets take a break for a bit, Im getting hungry." Zoey smiles at Allura and glances around the training area, watching the others that were there training.

"I will say one thing, you got some cute guys in Atlantis." Allura walks with Zoey to put her trident away too.

"Come on I will buy you a rootbeer float."

Zoey giggled and rolled her eyes, "I guess, if you say so. Im partial to my land dweller, he's got my eye.  I want a double scoop of vanilla in my float."

Allura smirks, "You got it shrimp."

"Just kidding."

Rory seemed to consider the question for a moment. "Probably the same as now really. Fending off demonic or alien invasions, making friends with a whole raft of beings who wouldn't exist in a sane world and doing our best to get some down time in the middle of all the chaos. "

Susan l looked at Rory for a moment,  then laughed. It wasn't a derisive laugh, but one full of affection and friendship.
" I suppose I shouldn't have expected any other answer.  This is certainly more exciting and productive than being a dental hygienist or the assistant manager at Applebee's. "
She sat down near the young man and smiled ruefully.
" I just hope we can do it.  I doubt that my parents will let me live in my room into my 20s, as we galavant around the city.  And...."
She shrugged,  a little uncomfortable and perhaps a little embarrassed.
" I'll. admit that when I was a child I certainly saw my being very different.   A job, maybe a family of my own. .."
She was very careful not to say, or hint, with whom she might want to have that family.

Rory looked away for a moment, a slight look of guilt on his face. The young man was rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "Sorry for how I reacted before. I know that this stuff doesn't make any more sense to you than to me."

Rory then changed the subject. " Nobody know what the future holds but if you have a goal, there's nothing stopping you from aiming for it. Whether it's starting a family, or becoming the most powerful witch this side of Oz, if there's one thing I learnt it's that in this town, anything is possible."

Susan nodded, her sad smile showing that she understood the young man's inner turmoil.
"Anything is possible, except, of course, for being normal.   You're right, I suppose.  I could give all this up and get a quiet life somewhere.   Goodness knows we've all earned it, but I couldn't stand by and let the world do its evil and not try to interfere."

"You wouldn't be you if you didn't care. Besides being normal is over-rated. As long as you are happy, you should try not to worry about it... It's how I try to deal with things."

The buxom brunette chuckled wryly.
" Happiness,  eh?  A novel concept.  I can see your logic, though  it sometimes feel like happiness is more elusive,  since I regularly feel like I'm, literally,  living someone else's life."

Rory seemed slightly distracted as a symbol in one of the nearby books caught his attention. He approached it and answered Susan telepathically as he looked at the picture. *Yeah, I know what you mean, sometimes I feel like I am a monster playing at being human.* He closed the book and turned his attention back to Susan, apparently, not noticing that he had been using telepathy. "You shouldn't you know, you're just you."

Susan blinked in surprise at the telepathic words, then giggled, obviously assuming that Rory had done it on purpose to show off his own "otherness".  Then she paused, confused and slightly mortified.
"Oh my god...did that sound come out of me??  I've got a really weird giggle.  That's mildly horrifying."
She smiled at her own embarrassment, and looked at Rory, her smile turning to one of genuine affection and gratitude.
"I'm very happy that if I have to live this bizarre life, I get to live it with all of you.  "

Rory shook his head and rubbed the back of his neck, seeming slightly uncomfortable. "Sorry, lately when I'm not paying attention, it seems like telepathic speech comes to me almost as naturally auditory speech, especially when I'm relaxed and distracted." There was a short pause before Rory went on. "For the record, I'm happy that we all got to meet too."

The buxom brunette smirked,  though affectionately.
" Yes, I know what you mean.   I have to remind myself a few times a day not to use magic.  We have to work on not freaking people out."
