Skipping School

The girls ride off during the chaos at the school. Susan seems to create small stone objects of things she thinks of too hard without really trying.

While Zoey finds it hard to control her strength. She is also feeling very thirsty.

Zoey licked her lips and sighed.  "Mind if we stop at a store somewhere?  I could really use a drink or two.  Wow.  I am wicked thirsty today."

Susan chuckled as she drove.
"Really?  You're 'wicked' thirsty?   You're sounding more like a townie every day.  But I'm thirsty as well.  Let's stop at a 7-11 for something."

She sighed.
"I'd like to get somewhere private to cast some spells to find out what's going on.  Especially since every time I think of a ritual, it comes to my mind so strongly that I have trouble not blurting it out.  I'm starting to think ditching school was the best thing for both of us."

Zoey laughed next.  "Ditching school was a good idea?  Now you're starting to sound like me and Allura.  This isn't a normal thirst though for me.  I mean, Im really thirsty Susan."

She looked thoughtful as they drove towards the 7-11, "We could go to my cave for privacy."

Susan looked at her friend and nodded, though was starting to get very worried, knowing that Zoey didn't have normal human physiology.
She pulled into the store parking lot, and got out.
"Would you like something in the soda family, or just water?"

"A couple gallons of water would be great. Thanks."

Susan looked at her friend with a combination of amusement and concern.
"One 55 gallon drum of Evian, coming up."

She walked into the store, and returned a few minutes later with a bag, looking a little flustered.
Getting into her SUV, she hoisted the bag onto her lap with visible effort, and handed the first of three 1 liter bottles of Dasani water to Zoey.
"Here you go, my friend.  Enjoy."
She gave a forced smile.

"Thanks Susan.  You okay?"  Zoey asked after taking the water and drinking half of the first 1 liter.

Susan nodded her head, if without enthusiasm.
"Yes, I'm okay.   There was just some skeevy guy in there who started hitting on me while I waited in line.  I'm just not used to this kind of thing, I guess."

"Oh,"  Zoey chuckled.

"So what do you think is going on with us?  Any ideas?"  She finished off the first liter and opened another one.

Susan shook her head as she eased back into traffic.
"I'm not sure.  This is not some random prankster, and I kind of hope it's not someone who's messing with us personally.  I'm not even sure who could do that, unless this weird space pharoah guy is to blame."
She shook her head, thinking.
"Honestly, it's almost as if we're getting our various abilities for the first time, unable to really control them.  My magic feels as if it's about to burst from me like a child throwing out a new swear word, and I'm not even sure if I felt that way when I WAS learning magic for the first time.
Still, the fact that it's affecting all of us, and we're so different, is troubling."

Drinking the water Zoey nodded, wiping a trickle from her chin.  "Do you think it might have something to do with the guy in the green pajamas again?  What if he found out his mind trick didnt work on us the first time, and he came back to do it right?"

In reply to Zoey Krass (msg # 12):

Susan frowned in thought.
"That's certainly possible, though it would only be viable if he's trying to isolate us, and he probably couldn't guarentee that we'd leave the school.  Though, actually, if I were him I'd just wait to catch us individually anyway, and not tip us off that something's wrong.  We're kind of on 'high alert' at the moment."

"Hm.  Who else would screw with us like this then?  I thought I was the clown."  She shrugged.  "So what do you want to try when we get to the cave?"

Susan gave a small grin.
"You're usually our comedian, but you're also funny.  This is just asinine."

She drove to the cave.
"I'd kind of like to try some scrying magic, and some privacy would be good, in case something weird happens."

Zoey smiled.

"Scrying?  That's like searching for someone or something right? I'll dry us too when we get to the cave.  That'll be easy to do."

Susan nodded.
"Yes, exactly.   it's not my specialty,  but I have to try.   You'll 'dry' us?   What do you mean? "

In reply to Susan Eisenberg (msg # 17):

"The cave entrance is under water, remember?  When we get there I can pull the water from our stuff and dry us."

Susan chuckled wryly.
"Sorry, I forgot.   I guess I'm even more distracted than I thought. "

"Well at least you can relax knowing that nobody should get hurt by us if we're in the cave.  I want to see how messed up my abilities are too."

Susan creates a stone chibi of herself along with the many stone figures she has been creating with surprisingly little fatigue.
