The Beach

A massive fist came down slamming between the sisters before lifting back up into the sky. As a huge algae creature loomed over them. It pulsed an angry red.

Zoey screamed as the fist landed between them, and her eyes grew wide looking up at the monster.  "What the hell did you give that thing? Run Amanda! Hide!"

Zoey quickly grabbed Amanda's hand and began running away from the algae monster towards the cover of the rocks.

Amanda shook her head, "I didn't give it miracle grow ! I don't know how it got so big."

A roar from the thing echoed across the water.

Amanda hid among the rocks and she called water to them both to make a shield. Another fist slammed down but the water kept it back.

"I dont think this day could suck any more than it already does."

She took a deep breath and gathered herself, "We need to get it away from the beach before someone sees it and us, and gets hurt.  When I say, make a run towards the water and swim as fast as you can.  Im going to distract it long enough for you to get into the water, then I'll be right behind you. Dont move until I give you have the chance to run."

With a nod Zoey jumped out from behind the rocks and started running towards the creature, an spear forming in her hands as she ran.  "Hey big guy! Pick on somebody your own size, you overgrown slime ball."

Amanda nodded and hot footed it toward the ocean.

As Zoey ran she felt her ankle get caught on something.

She quickly looked down at her ankle to see what she had been caught in, keeping as much attention as she could on the algae monster in front of her.

Zoey sees a little Algae man holding her ankle and shaking his head.

"What the..? Where did you come from? Oh..."  She looked back up at the giant algae monster and started to back away from it.  Speaking to the algae on her ankle, "I dont suppose you know how to call him off do you?"

The little Algae man hopped up on to Zoey's shoulder and held his little hands up. He was glowing a light yellow and he made a sound.

The huge Algae monster stopped and looked down at Zoey. The little Algae man pointed at Amanda and glowed pink.

Amanda turned back, "Huh ?"

Zoey looked at Amanda and the little algae man, "We dont want to hurt you. We're just looking for some answers about our friend in the hospital."

The little man holds his arms out and makes gunfire noises.

Glancing between the giant and the little guy, Zoey nodded. "Yeah, we know she was shot. But why, and by who?"

She looked back at the giant algae creature. "He's not going to hurt us is he?  We should get out of sight though."

The little Algae man lept off Zoey's shoulder and looked like he was talking to the much bigger one. Slowly it moved off back to sea.

He then walked over and hugged Amanda and made an "AHHHHHH !" sound that sounded like Amanda did when she woke from her nightmare.

"Um.."

She looked at her sister and laughed. "I think he likes you. Lets get out of sight, I know a place we can go."  Zoey starts to walk towards the water, her spear evaporating as she moves closer.

The little algae man followed along.
