Leads: Rory and Zoey

Arriving near Atlantis the two could see it had been militarized. Patrols swam around it along with or riding on sea creatures. Things looked ominous. Zoey was able to get behind some coral before they got too close.

Zoey pulled Rory down beside her and watched the patrols going by, a confused sad look on her face. "I dont know what's going on, but it can't be good. Its different than the last time I was here. Technically it was before I was born so something could have changed in the last 30 years I suppose."

She looked around hoping to find a back door for them to sneak in.

Rory frowned. "Yeah, this wasn't what I expected. Knowing our propensity to walk into bad situations, I probably should have." Rory noticed as Zoey started looking around. " Yeah, let's investigate quietly."

Zoey nodded and turned to Rory. "How long can you hold your breath for?"

Rory put his hand on his chin as he thought things over. "I'm not sure most humans can only hold their breath a minute or two but I'm more durable than most. I'm not sure that it will help though. Can't you just make another air bubble?"

She grinned, "I could totally do that, of course. But, Atlanteans dont need them to breathe and if we run into a patrol between here and there then I need to get rid of that bubble."

Zoey looked back towards Atlantis again thoughtfully. "I could try and swim us past them."

Rory nodded. "OK. I'll do my best to hold my breath if we run into anyone."

"Take my hand, we're going to try to blend in."

OOC: The pressure down here might kill Rory it's more then just breathing. ~_^ But were a TV series not a Science class.

Zoey rolled 7, 8, 4 on D8 Rory, D10 Love, D4 Sneaky

Zoey manages to slip in and get into the city. A lot of talk about pollution and harm to the environment is going on. A sense patriotism too is strong.

Zoey laughed quietly to herself and looked at Rory. "That was close. Okay just follow me and we'll find out where my family is. I wonder if they're in the same place?"

She uses the coral terminals she used last time she was in Atlantis to find Van Drosa and Fah Lana.

Zoey is able to find their location right away but there is an indication that her terminal has been flagged.

"That cant be good. Come on, this way. I know where to go." Zoey quickly pulled Rory along with her and headed towards her family.

Rory raised an eyebrow. "Yeah... Let's leg it!"

Zoey sees some security around her familial home.

“What’s going on?”  She looks for a way to get past the security into the home.

It looks like the security is near each entrance to her families grounds.

“I’m, got any ideas Rory? Amanda gets in and out all the time. How does she do it?”

Zoey does see Amanda walking towards the house with a cute boy.

Zoey smiles, “Amanda! Over here!” She waved at her sister.

Amanda looks over and waves. She brings the boy over, "Hi Zoey, Hey Mervin this is Zoey my big Sis, she is a Knight of Posieden. This is our friend Rory. Guys this is Mervin. What are you guys doing here ?"

Zoey looks the boy over and smiled. “Hi, nice to meet you. We came to talk and hang out for a bit. What’s up with the security?” She asked glancing back to her family home.

Amanda looks, "Hmmm that's new. Things have been crazy though lately. Lot of people are all worked up."

Mervin, "Well aren't you ? We only have one world, we need to protect our oceans."

“I agree with you Mervin. The oceans aren’t the only waters that need to be protected though. So Amanda, where are your parents? Our parents I mean.”

"Trying to talk reason with people. Calm things down." says Amanda.

“I can’t wait to see them. Think they’ve got time?” She smiled at her sister.

Amanda gives Zoey a long look and then sighs, "Right, well there not home right now."

She shrugged, “Okay so where are they? We can wait for them at your place then.”

Amanda says with  start, "I don't have my own place here, I was going home. Ok fine follow me we can go see them." She looks to Mervin, "Sorry, listen my big sis needs me we can hang out later."

“See you around Mervin.”

After it was just the three of them Zoey turns a stern eye to Amanda. “What’s going on?  I got the feeling you’re keeping something from me, sis.”

Amanda rolls her eyes, "What because I want to spend some time with my boyfriend without our parents being around, real Sherlock Holmes you are."

She narrowed her eyes and shrugged. “Fine. If you want to just drop us off at home, we can wait for mom and dad to get back while you go spend some time with your boyfriend.  Think I could borrow an outfit?”

"I am taking you to mom and dad now, I told you I would. Rory should hide though. No one is happy with land lubbers." Amanda smirks.  "Seriously they are all worked up about it. Im not really but I just want to freaking do something I was having a great day Ughhhh !"

“Where can he hide? I don’t know Atlantis like you do.  Shouldn’t he stay with me?” Zoey followed her sister.

“You and Mervin look cute together,” she smiled.

Amanda motions and slips into some of the sub tunnels of Atlantis.

"I would say he could hide here but, lots of kids come down here to hang out. So much is going on right now. Seems like people want to go to war."

Zoey shakes her head. “He should stay with us. Come on let’s go see mom and dad.”

As the trio starts walking again, Zoey asks her sister, “Are you sure Rory and I shouldn’t change our clothes or something? We really stick out.”

Amanda looks at them, "Yeah you should absolutely change. Hold on I could get you some clothes." She looks at them seriously for a bit then said, "Ok wait here."

After commercial break Amanda returns with some clothes for them which are only slightly off in size.

"Blew my allowance on those but it's worth it to help my big sis."

“Thanks Amanda. I’ll pay you back next time you come visit me. All right then, let’s go. To be honest I’m a little nervous to see them.” She smiled, “But at least I have my best friend and little sister with me. Come on.”

Amanda leads them near a big building that is almost a colliseum in size she checks something on a small tech device on her arm. She then leads them in and to a side room.

Zoey sees her parents there looking tired. They are reviewing something on a viewscreen.

Rory suddenly feels something is wrong and knows Allura and Susan are in danger.

The butterflies in her stomach decide to go into a frenzy as she looks at her parents, tears welling up in her eyes. “Um, hi.” Zoey swallows the lump in her throat and stands nervously by Amanda and Rory.

Her mother looks up, "Come in, Amanda bring them in."

Her father looks over curiously.

Zoey smiles at her dad and takes a deep breath. “Hi Van.”

"To what do we owe this visit ?" Asks her mother.

Amanda plops down in one of the chairs.

Van sighs a bit, "Please have a seat, are any of you hungry ?"

Zoey sits and glances at Fah Lana then shakes her head. “I’m fine, thank you. What are you working on?”

Fah Lana puts her hand on her husbands shoulder, "Trying to stop a war. Though it is getting harder and harder to do."

Van nods, "It's like someone has released madness around the world."

Zoey nervously taps her foot and her fingers play absently with the pendant around her neck. "When did everyone start acting strange? Its hard not to notice the change around here too. It was a lot different the last time I visited. Why is there so much security around the family home?" She asked looking at her parents.

Zoey's father studies her, "Security around home ? I don't know why that is, we didn't request any did we dear ?"

Zoey's mother shakes her head, "No, not at all." She looks over at Amanda.

Amanda shrugs, "Don't look at me, I didn't do anything."

“I wasn’t sure where y’all were going to be at when we got here, so I used one of the terminals. It was flagged after that and we ran into Amanda a few minutes later.”

Van, "Flagged, well there has to be a reason for that." He checks at the terminal he is at. "Yes your right, this is odd to say the least."

Fah Lana looks over Van's shoulder, "Do you think it is because were speaking against any war ?"

Van, "If that is the case then this is bad, it means people are getting paranoid."

“People want to go to war with the surface? What is going on?”

Fah Lana shifts the screen so Zoey can see it.

She shows pollution levels, and injured sea life. Sea dumping of trash and other things.
Then she shows the surface world cities seemingly tearing themselves apart. It looks like mass chaos in the surface cities.

Zoey frowned deeply at the screen and shook her head. “Living on the surface I see this all the time, but not on such a huge scale. A lot of it comes from big companies, like LuthorCorp and Chrysalis. Those are the ones that should be targets. I can’t completely disagree with the people around here.”

Rory stayed in the background as everyone talked, after a while a concerned look crossed his face. "I'm worried about the Allura and Susan. With everything that's going on, I have a bad feeling about things."

“What do you mean?”

Rory tried to direct Zoey away from the others. "I don't know. I just have a feeling that they're in trouble. We should probably get back to them. Besides we're not really welcome here right now, and if we get caught we could get your family in trouble."

“I can’t go back right now Rory.  I’m a Knight of Poseidon, I have a duty and responsibility to my people.” She looked back at her parents and smiled, “And my parents too.”

“Amanda, can you take Rory back to Arkham please?”

Rory frowned. "We've been through so much with Susan and Allura. I can't believe that you want to abandon them when they might be in danger!"

Zoey narrowed her eyes at Rory and pinched his arm. “I’m not abandoning them. I can’t believe you of all people would think that. I’m trying to help my parents stop a war!”

All eyes in the room look to Zoey.

Zoey blushed at the sudden shift of attention on her. “When are any of us not in some kind of danger or trouble?  It’s what we do Rory, you know that.  I’m not making this decision easily. If Atlantis goes to war openly with the surface, things are going to change big time. You know as well as I do that humans are stupid and greedy, and that makes them dangerous. Atlantis is better off where it is.  I don’t want to see anybody get hurt, and I know Susan and Allura can handle themselves.”

Rory seemed to be about to answer Zoey in kind. However, his stance softened as she went on. He frowned. "Yeah, yeah. You're right. Thousands of people could die if we don't stop the war. "

Rory sighed. "Since when have you been the one to look at the big picture? You have grown young padawan... but you know not all humans are bad just as not all Athlanteans are good. I am mean, Susan and Allura are human." Rory seemed to suddenly remember that there were other people in the room. "And me off course! I'm human too."

Rory seemed thoughful. "My special aptitudes could come in handy here. If only there were a way for me to get around unnoticed..."

Zoey blinked in surprise and smiled. “Wow, thanks.  Since I found out about my Atlantean heritage I’ve just started taking things more seriously. Well the important stuff anyway. I’d really appreciate your help Rory.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him.

“Sorry for pinching your arm.”
