Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

That's not cheating, that's using a lifeline.

(But I actually rolled those 3 checks with Dekar's own stats.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

If you meet a wizard who can automatically pass a DC 20 intelligence check, run.

Actually, that's the thing I like the least about D20 system: the die has way too much influence over the final outcome of checks. The village idiot, with an int of 4, is about half as likely as the village genius (int 18, +4) to pass a check that the average guy fails 50% of the times. The curve should be a little steeper than that.

Anyway, the int check was your backup, more of a last-ditch attempt than anything else.

The three checks have a very high DC as well, but they reinforce each other: each check you pass gives the other two a +2, retroactively (so if you pass one, fail one by 2 and fail the last by 4, the first makes you pass the second which makes you pass the third).

Dekar passes two checks out of three.

Tilly: Swapping out Religion for Nature usually doesn't quite cut it... Combining the information you got from your very high Heal check, however, you do figure out some things.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Addendum: changed the recipient list for PLs to include those who passed with flying colors :P

Also updated the reply to Sider a little.

Well with a 60% chance of passing the INT check, rolled a 1 but the knowledge's he has in spades. Now for the fun part as we shape the world around us.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Objects struck by a tsunami are swept up if they are Huge or smaller and are carried along by the wave, deposited in a pile at the end of the wave's journey. Gargantuan or larger objects, as well as structures or objects firmly attached to the ground, take 8d6 points of bludgeoning damage when a tsunami passes through its space-if this is enough to destroy the object or structure, the remains are carried along by the wave. Hardness does not reduce this damage, nor is it halved as damage dealt to objects normally is. Freedom of movement prevents a creature from being carried along by a tsunami but does not prevent damage caused by it hitting a creature.

First an earthquake, then a tsunami.

Yeah, I think you just lost everything that was in the shelter.

Any counterspell forthcoming?

Oh man, if the divine here takes our actions as a template, this is going to be a dangerous world...

With friends like these, who need enemies ?

In that case, perhaps I should impose my benevolence on the universe.

Then it'll copy me.

Lay On Hands on the ground? I don't think that's gonna work...

Alright then, master Pale... Roll Init.

Sent the DM a PM to see what would happen before I do an action. Please give him time to respond.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Wait.  What if I cast reverse gravity in the area of the water and send it flying into the sky?

Tilly wants to protect Zhorr, so she might do something like that.

Tilly... Are you quite certain you want to cast reverse gravity? Just asking... :)

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Also, tsumanis move in a straight line across land or water; reverse gravity would not only catch it but stop its movement.

The area sizes match too  (reverse gravity is slightly taller).

Perfect spontaneous caster thinking, in my opinion!

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Reverse gravity would work for those that can fly and avoid smacking into the ground but I think it might be fatal for Zhorr.

So, Pale is about to throw a tsunami at Lareth's friends. Wonder what she'll do... so far, dragon goes first (rolled 21).

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

It would not be fatal for Zhorr.  Reverse gravity would only target the area next to Pale and the water, so it would not affect the rest of us.  The water would go up and stop moving, by the spell's description (only moves on land or water), and the tsunami will dissipate in 3 rounds, long before reverse gravity wears off.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Meteor Swarm, Tsunami, now Reverse Gravity... welcome to the new Plane of Perpetual Chaos, where the laws of physics aren't laws at all, and repeating the same action will yield very different consequences, probably deadly.

Forget the magic, let's just wait the damn thing out and see what we can salvage. We started from scratch less than one day ago, we can do it again. I hope.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

I was just considering reverse gravity.  I didn't really think I was going to use it.

Anyway, I think I'm going to just grab Zhorr and fly up really really fast.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Tilly, if I remember right, you are a Divine caster and if you are using a Divine slot to cast it, I think it will effect the entire planet, not just the area.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

OK no INt check needed then. But perhaps you may want to re-read Sider's explanation of what happened when you cast meteor swarm :)
