I gave up on a perfect story.  We aren't going to judge you that much.

Pale, you're up :)

Addendum: to cut down on bookkeeping, I think we're going to use the downtime rules.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

OK, Pale's story is going to be a hard one to integrate, but I'm sure i'll come up with something...

I like how different the personalities that are coming up for the group are, there is a lot of variety.

So, Dekar, Mirelinda, you guys still with us? I would love to hear your stories...

I'm standing by. Trying to figure out if I had a story lying around somewhere or needed to make a new one.

Maybe remember some old games and blend them together?

I wrote a story you felt you had to respond to? High praise indeed.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

I figure that we are talking about the stories after they are told and the good side won out over the lawful side with that one.  It is funny the number of character backgrounds for clerics that get their powers as a child/baby from a Deity but never ask for it.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Here's what's gonna happen: your stories will shape the world, so each story will effectively create something; on the other hand, you guys need to level up, so I need to give you encounters, and the stories will provide a base for those.

The way you deal with the encounter will influence the results on the universe. This latter part was inspired by Pale's story, which isn't a classical "kill them all, let Pharasma sort 'em out" encounter, and will force me to mix things up a little.

Not entirely sure yet how I'll do it, but it's an interesting challenge - much more so than adding templates and applying CR adjustments.

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

I just threw something out, because trying to come up with a good story wasn't working... so maybe next time I'll do better.  However, I am happy that I managed to have a non-violent ending to mine!

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

I'm leaving a slot open for Mirelinda's story, just in case, and uploading Zhorr's next one.

I am trying to cut down on the game's maintenance costs, so we are going to use the downtime rules. This basically allows the characters to perform one activity each during the day. We will keep the first day's work as-is, but starting with day 2 I'd suggest the following pattern for the first week:

- Mirelinda and Tilly work on making money (250k gp per day)
- Sider and Zhorr work on rebuilding their spellbooks (9 spells per day each)
- Dekar and Pale work on crafting (4kgp market price per day)

That is about 42kgp per character per day, give or take. Sider and Zhorr won't need to spend money to scribe the spells, it's assumed they use part of their daily allotment to make inks as needed.

Then, after about a week, we switch.

Stories are told one per day: as long as you keep them coming you get time to improve your gear (and give me more stuff to throw at you later on ;) ).

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

Baron? Would you have another story for us?

Now, folks, if you are not feeling particularly creative, here's a hint: take a funny story from one of your previous groups, dress it up a little and change the names to protect the guilty make sure that your character covers the appropriate role, run it through a spell checker, post ;)

Well, that was great... I think I have to hurry up and finish the third story, and then start working on the next six, apparently :P

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

I believe it's now Tilly's turn.

Just a warning, I don't quite have a story yet for the next round: so far I did Zhorr and Lia's story, first I had "spring", then "summer", next story will be "autumn", and it's unfinished for now; then I should do "winter", for which I only have a very very thin thread at present, and after that... Guess I'll have to put my muse on overtime :P

Re: OOC: Who is doing what now?!

I think you replied to Zhorr's story but did not post a story. The next time Merlinda logs on, she still needs to post a story from last round.

The fun part for me is trying to remember things that happened to a character over 33 years ago and tie it into his story. Back in 1st edition, only Humans could be Paladins but his story line was that he was the Dwarven version of one and was out to redeem himself.
