Ah.  I'm so dumb.  I didn't read your general quite well enough.  I missed the "or a permanent an opponent controls" - I thought neither of them would kill each other and was bluffing to see if you would let it through - worried that I'd pull some rabbit out the hat if Torbran took damage...
