Yeah I forgot to update my life last turn, so I'm at 25 now if my math is correct after very rudely getting ganged up on by everyone even though I'm helping you all draw cards.

Also Munch is right, you only have the option to move your Howling Mine draw, not your draw step draw.

Oh - I thought when it said "At the beginning of each player’s draw step" - it meant before you actually draw.

However, having read the rulings on the card I acknowledge I am wrong.

Ruling:
The triggered ability is put onto the stack after you have already drawn your card for the turn. (2013-04-15)

I forgot to mention last time, but technically you would have to reveal every card you draw from the Puzzle Box before you do, since the Snoop's ability would effect your library every time you draw.

But that's semantics as I'm dead, yeah. That Ascension really threw me out of the game, and I would've Cyclonic Rifted it if it weren't for the Planar Chaos.

Not sure the flipping works like that for Frenetic Efreet.

Official errata rules for the card:

No, he's right, you can activate the ability as many times as you want before the first one resolves. Normally there would be no reason to, as it won't matter since the only activation that matters is the one that resolves at the end, but here, since the flips matter, you'll just keep flipping, whether or not the Efreet is alive or phased out, you just can't activate it again after any of them resolve.

Actually it wouldn't matter, the text still works since you can just activate it in response to the first activation as many times as you want. It will either end up with it being phased out (in the case of the efreet, exiled for the sliver), or sacrificed, whatever the last flip decides.

I would argue it DOES matter - since what goes on the stack is not just "Flip a coin..." - it is is the phrase "If it is in play, flip a coin."

Sure, you can load up the stack with a million activations, but as they start to resolve, it checks each time to see "if it is in play" - the first one to resolve either exiles or phases out Frenetic Efreet and the next (and all subsequent iterations) on the stack see it is not on play and fizzle.

608.2a If a triggered ability has an intervening “if” clause, it checks whether the clause’s condition is true. If it isn’t, the ability is removed from the stack and does nothing. Otherwise, it continues  to resolve. See rule 603.4.

So looks like they changed it, then changed it back again.  So - I guess I am wrong (again!!!), and I concede your flips were worth doing after all.

A bit, yes.

But that Bloodchief's Ascension did a lot of work there.


And I'm pretty sure the Planar Chaos countered more of my stuff than you two's stuff combined.

So that was probably a bad play on my part when I had a mana/card draw advantage.

The luck for me was in drawing Gemstone Caverns in my opening hand (for the first time!), and drawing Bloodchief Ascension so early.   :-)

I'm going to give the game a break for a week - got a busy week ahead.  If you two want to have a game without me - go ahead - I will give you a yell when I'm back and have the time.
