One of the ghosts turns catching Mevoli as he tries to move past them and sinks its spectral claws inside of him draining his life force.

Another of the ghosts rushes around the downed Burt Luke whom Anmethwen was trying to save and grabs her.  The grasp of the ghost causes blood to drip out of every orifice upon her face and she collapses right next to the man whom she was trying to save

One of the ghosts dives into the ground and pops up right in front of the cornered Galasdaugion and tries to grasp his arm but the commanding elf ducks below its spectral claw.

Galasdaugion turns tail and tries to run towards the entrance.  As he turns his back one of the ghosts barely grabs his arm but the second stares directly into his eyes as it grabs towards his heart.  The horrifying visage of life after death infects Galasdaugion's thoughts as the ghost leers into his eyes. The sight of this horrifying creature made Galasdaugion's knees buckle for a moment but he manages to shrug it off.  A third ghost reaches out to grab Galasdaugion but barely misses grabbing his shoulder.

Galasdaugion's falcon is sqwaking and pecking in the direction of ghosts as he pushes out of where he was cornered.  He then reaches the next pack of ghosts that surround his unconscious friends. Two of them lash out and grasp him, their ethereal bodies draining some of his life force and weakening his strong Elven body.  He powers through miraculously and reaches the entrance to the tomb.  Rather than jumping on the tentacle to save himself Galasdaugion reaches out and yanks Anmethwen free of the ghosts.  He looks towards Burt Luke but the dwarf is too distant for him to reach and pull to safety.

Mevoli makes a mad dash along with his companions through the ghosts.  He avoids a few swipes before accidentally running directly into another.  He feels a small portion of his body start to drain away and his eyes are caught in the gaze of the ghostly warrior. The image of the ghost changes from an angry mindless apparition to a scared young man with a large gash in his throat. "Until.... you bless.... my tomb...and release...me.. You too will be cursed to wander in death"  The ghost says eerily, sending a shiver up Mevoli's spine.  The dwarf has an uncomfortable uneasy feeling but he has to escape before he can worry about that.

In his trance with the ghost another one of the creatures had a chance to move in on him and grasps his neck choking more of his lifeforce from his body. Mevoli bolts through almost all of the ghosts with two of their swipes he was able to duck underneath.  He finally thought he had put them behind him when two of the ghosts reached out from underneath of him grasping him by the ankles and draining him lifeless.  He falls to the ground gasping for air but otherwise appearing lifeless just as his companion Burt.

Octavia makes a mad dash for the tentacle.  A few of the ghosts miss her but eventually a few of them catch her.  The first she pushes through, the second makes her shout out in pain as the spectre touches her neck and unnatural boils sprout all around where it touched.  They are extremely painful, quickly sprouting tears from Octavias eyes.  The ghosts pelt Octavia as she runs through the gauntlet of undeath.  In a strange string of events one of the ghosts gets in the way of the other seeming to throw the creature in a short tailspin before it catches itself

Through all of the pain Octavia fights forward and reaches the tentacle and what appears to be temporary safety.

With much of the party thinned out in numbers the ghosts start to swarm around the remaining few left within their tomb.  Nora takes the first assault as yet another ghost joins in choking the life out of her living body. While she fights against the creature the other ghosts turn their attentions towards her.  A high pitched whine barely escapes Noras mouth as she struggles against the ghosts ethereal grasp

Anmethwhen seeing Nora's dire straits calls on magics that were lost to her but she could regain with a sacrifice of her body. She uses her mithril dagger and with the tip carves a mystical symbol onto her hand.  She grimaces in pain as she tries to focus her energies into casting her forgotten spell.  Fueled by the emotional trauma Anmethwen feels trying to save her companion the magic surges forth in a furious black cloud that fills the room engulfing the entire hallway in front of the tentacle.  Anmethwen then calls out "Nora, run to me as fast as you can through the cloud.  It will hurt but its the only help I could provide.  Anmethwen bravely stands concentrating on keeping up the cloud

The spirits can be heard screeching inside the black cloud when one of them comes screaming out of the cloud at Anmethwen but the vibrant elf sidesteps the spirit while continuing to maintain her spell.

Deep in the cloud another of the ghosts comes bursting out of the wall and latches onto Nora.  The dwarf's face is bright blue, she looks to be on the edge of conciousness as she struggles for each breath.  Another spirit comes rushing through the cloud at Nora but its attack is way off line as it doesn't come close to contacting Nora.

Anmethwen quickly begins regretting her decision to aid Nora because as soon as her body slumps to the ground ghosts rush towards her on the edge of their crypt and with an almost increased vigor started choking Anmethwen.  She quickly loses consciousness and lays dying beside the twitching tentacle.  As she falls her large black cloud dissipates leaving nothing but three of the party's dead bodies with screaming ghosts floating over them.

Diary of Galausdaugion Nabrinmyr
Day 1 - The horrors of the pit

  To try and describe this place to another being is close to impossible other than to describe it as imagine the worst warzone you have ever seen whether in person or in your dreams....this place is twice as bad at the least.  This thing in here is warped but we can move around upon some of its outer tentacles as of its not fully aware of everyone who is in this pit.  No I think the cultists in here are clearly the culprits behind this creatures uprising.  Disturbed beings with no face and tentacles bursting from their chests, it was a miracle we survived the few we have encountered.

No horrors match what we just encountered though.  I sit here battered and bruised and I am one of the better off members of my crew.  Three of our party died in a crypt of angered spirits.  That damn dwarf got greedy and then those things came flying out.  I shudder at the thought of encountering spirits like that again our weapons were completely useless against their kind.  I may not believe in the same things as our Cleric Lois but thank god she is here administering what aid she can.  Poor Octavia formed boils all over her body making any movement excutiating.  To drag her up that tentacle into this room was hard to listen to but at least the divine workings of Lois Bonner seem to be healing her wounds.  I on the other hand don't appear to be worthy to her gods healing...each time she tried Lois suffered great pains and informed us all that apparently her deity is so angered she has lost her ability to heal.

These recent events may lead to us returning to town very soon.  Speaking of the town the people must be in a panic, after Dixie used some of her summoning magic in a recent fight with the cultists, the sun completely disappeared and we are now engulfed in darkness.  For now though we continue to trod on... I must get back up and help to motivate those whom we have left still alive, we mustn't think of the imminent doom we most certainly face or in my case the wounds that I still carry.

The party climbs back up the tentacle and takes a short break.  After a brief rest and receiving what healing they can from Lois they decide to explore a previously unexplored passage.  The passage has very tight corners that makes larger weapons almost useless were they to use them in here.  At the point it begins to tighten up the corridor begins to gradually angle downward.  After several right angle turns Mevoli guesses they are approximately 20 feet lower than when they first started when they reach a tiny chamber.

This tiny chamber is barely 5 feet wide on all sides with a low ceiling. You observe something very strange: there is a puddle on the ceiling and water slowly "drips" from the floor to the ceiling, filling the puddle drop by drop

After much investigation nobody finds anything of interest in the room and it is also noted that other liquids do not behave in the same manner within this room.  For future study Lois grabs a small vial of the odd flow of water.
