OOC Thread

All of our posts and such had been moved to a Google Group because I kinda detest the RPOL interface, especially when it comes to posting images.

I figured out, though, that I could leverage dropbox/skype for images and the like and bring the game back here.  I'll be starting a new thread soon getting us going again.

Krackor--there's a text version of a Character sheet in one of the pinned threads, but I think I'm going to make PC subfolders in a Dropbox folder if, like me, you'd rather have it that way.

Thank you.

Will take a look at the sheet. I'm self-isolating from now, so should have plenty of time.

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 1):

Tol you already mentioned that you wanted to keep Celadhel and lose Garth.

I'm assuming that we're going to lose Gonzalo and Alfonse as well.  Their home is far off and you've got plenty of muscle.

Krackor looks like he's making something wizard-y so I am thinking to have Edrie return to her studies.

Cork is nice and all, but I think his functionality can be easily subsumed by Olaf, since he's a nature priest--and I imagine that you want an open priest around.

Rewis' kit is powerful, but limited.  Also, he seems to have invested himself in protecting the drow ladies of Bowshot and is trying to build a temple there.

Here's my suggested party:

Tol
Iz2Tricky/Krackor
Balarba (gotta have a thief)
Olaf
Celadhel

Hey Krackor, welcome to the game. A bit more context for the game: it started as a standard group with a bunch of players, but everyone except me and the DM dropped out after the first adventure. The two of us continued on our own, with the DM bringing in a bunch of NPC's to fill out the party.

My main character is Tolantra, a dwarven fighter/cleric. We're using the Demihuman Deities rules that dwarven priests try to keep non-dwarves from knowing they exist, so she's adventuring as a male dwarven fighter. She's got great stats and heavy armor, so she's been serving as the group's main tank.

We didn't have a thief in the party, so I introduced Balarba, Tolantra's cousin. She's a dwarven thief (adventuring as a male cousin). I'm not as attached to her, so if you wanted to run a thief, I'm happy to retire her.

For the party, my original thought was:

Tol (fighter/cleric)
Balarba (thief)
Olaf (cleric)
Celadhel (fighter/mage)
Edie (mage)
Cork (ranger)

That makes a party of 6 (yes, I've played lots of Baldur's Gate, and defaulted to that party size without thinking), and provides both a single and multi-classed version of both spellcasters. If there's any of those roles you want to take, we can drop the NPC. If you want to play something else (paladin, bard, some other multi-class), Cork or Balarba are probably the most likely ones to be dropped. I'd rather keep Edie, unless you want a single-classed wizard, just since wizards take so long to level up.

What are your thoughts?

In reply to Tol (msg # 4):

I'm bringing in an Elven Rogue/Mage.  Keep the Thief in by all means, I'm playing him more as the Unlikely Hero than a Thief, Think Dread Pirate Roberts without the bad rep.

Paul--Krackor is having a hard time accessing his character sheet here.  I can't see any reason why he couldn't.  You've added a lot more new players in RPOL than I have. Any hints?

We're almost ready to roll--Tol, I nee some help remembering some events (as previously discussed)

As I recall...

You went on a revenge mission with the original band against Lizard Folk and faced their Champion, Red Eye--who you killed.

the original party broke up, and you got tasked to make sure that the southern passes were safe for Caravan Travel.  You picked up Meldar and Delora--a father and daughter Merchant team that had been stranded at the Way Inn and escorted them back to Daggerford.  As a reward they gave you a map they had been planning to sell in Waterdeep.  The map was of an old dwarf hold rumored to be in the region.

Tol gathered her off-duty militia patrol from the previous mission to investigate rumors of silver mining around Bowshot.  There the party made several incursions into an odd and monster-filled box canyon, capturing a band of surface dwelling drow--executing the men and indenturing the women to the town of Bowshot. There were some odd business negotiation stuff with the Oligarch of Bowshot, Ulwyn Andalor, and you're on good terms. A spare Chauntean life-warden was left behind to help with the cultivation of the area and the preservation of the lives and freedom of the drow females.  Finally a mysterious and dark temple in the box canyon was rooted out and destroyed.

Accurate?

Yes, that's accurate, though we still have a bit out-standing in those caverns. Specifically whether there actually is silver that can be mined, and whether it's possible to cleanse them of the evil/corrupting taint that the temple was generating. Tolantra was looking at those caverns as a potential stronghold, or at least a mining outpost that she could use to fund further activities.

Cool.

I'll fill it in from there.  I think I'm probably going to pop everyone back to Bowshot so that the party members that are getting cut can move along, and we can hook up with 'New Character'

You could always be at the "Stronghold/Mine" and leave people there to 'tidy up' or 'make improvements'.
DM, Can you look at the PM's please and let me know if I've missed much on character please.  Basic clothing, Canon leggings, Chemise top, belt and boots etc.

Oh and the Vorpal Sword that he can't and doesn't want to use, Portable Hole that he is scared to use in case he gets dragged inside... (only joking, please don't give him any of these those, ever)
