Simpler Times - Isah Stone

The hipster crowd in Nashville had embraced the hookah lounge with great passion and with their business had come others as well.  Now thriving the place had a first class bistro in it as well.  The Mediterranean artwork set the place apart from the honky tonks surrounding it.  Combine that with the comfortable almost beanbag chairs, chaises, and comfortable couches and one could not deny its charm.

Tonight was no different.  The place was filled with locals and regulars.  The bistro side was booming as well and food was flying out.  The only issue was the small cadre of kindred sitting near the back of the place.  The intimidating presence, glowering looks, and general "I'm more badass than you" attitudes marked them as neonates and probably worse yet, Brujah.

"Why are we here Thomas?  This place sucks.  Its too relaxed...soooooo bored.."

The young woman speaking was known to Isah, Cammie Lassiter...a young up and comer in the ranks of the Sheriff.  She was known to be handy in a fight and rumor had it that she had led the last charge on the Anarchs three years ago.  Of course there were the numerous borderline breaches of the Masquerade but nothing unforgivable thus far.  The man she was talking to her was her brother Thomas Lassiter.  He was not so much of an up and comer.  Brutish, harsh, rage filled, and "oppressed" he was rarely in control of his beast and was probably only still around due to Cammie's street credit with the local Sheriff.

The other three were unknown to Isah, more than likely transients moving through town who got caught up in Cammie's charisma.  Young, blond, attractive, with ahint of danger lingering just behind her pale blue eyes...she was the type of woman that led many a man to ruin but oh what a time they had on their way...

[Private to Isah Stone: Sorry for the lateness of this.  Took me a while to get sorted.  I firgure we'll not give away all the secrets of your hideout in the first post.  Please feel free to add what you wish.  The Brujah are mostly harmless and Cammie is reasonable though Thomas is less so]

PM [Private to Dante Hargrave: before I interact with other kindred does my character know anything about the reputation of the Assamites. This so I can know weather or not in character to keep my true clan secret. But if he doesn't know better why would he bother keeping his clan a secret. Just curious how much I know in character.

And no worries about the post it good.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Isah seems to be just one of the regulars that frequent the club. Members of his staff know how to subtlety get his attention should he be needed. However during the hours when there are customers he does not interact with the staff as either a boss or fellow employee.

Isah is making his rounds through the club when he notices the group of vampires. This makes him a bit uneasy as they are not part of the regular crowd. He begging to think to himself "Are they here to simply take in the atmosphere, cause problems, or because they think they will find a problem here".

With this in mind Isah ensures his blade is well hidden under his jacket then takes a seat where he can view both that group and the front door.

He glances at the group of kindred to see if any of them are currently playing around on any tech possibly taking advantage of the free Wifi. Isah puts his ear buds in and plugs them into his tablet. Seeming to listen to music but with none playing as to be able to hear his surroundings.

[Private to Dante Hargrave: If they are using any tech devices or if Isah sees a computer or phone in their possession he will use his hacking skills to attempt to turn on the microphone and listen to their conversation through his device and headphones.]

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

One of the others with them had his IPhone out and was currently connected to the WI-FI.  He seemed rather oblivious to the conversation between Cammie and Thomas.  His features spoke of a hard life probably a street urchinand drug addict before the embrace.  The scar tracks along his left ditch (inside elbow) spoke of needle marks.  His spiked up black hair and what looked like "guy liner" helped disguise the look and instead made him look gothish.  To his right sat a dark skinned woman who was scantily clad.  Again she looked like a street urchin, albeit a different sort than the druggy seated next to her.  She seemed to fawn over Thomas and looked to him like a school girl with a crush.

The other member of their group was an oddball compared to the others.  He was of middle eastern decent with slicked back hair and a long coat.  He was currently partaking in the hookah and looked almost natural in the room, the only oddity the facial tattoo around his left eye (a crescent moon) and the way his eyes seemed to carefully assess and measure everyone in the room.  Just beneath his coat the butt of a semi-automatic pistol was visible under his left shoulder.

[Private to Isah Stone: Diff 3 to hack into the feed to the man's phone.  Also - Assamites have served the Prince from time to time but mostly as contracted help to clean up masquerade breaches.  The court itself views them as dangerous and unpredictable but a useful tool.  When visiting, as long as they follow protocol they are accepted.  The Sheriff has been known to be very friendly with known assamites though for what reason who knows.]

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Isah began to rock his head back and forth and quietly singing the words of "Wrong Side of Heaven" by Five Finger Death Punch with his headphones on and poking around on a tablet.

Though he has no music going on in his headphones he is listening in on the conversation of the vampires in his establishment. He does not want to seem completely obvious and out of place by sitting blankly with his earbuds on in concentration.

Isah leans back in his chair and takes a couple of hits from his favorite flavor of Al Fakher brand Bahraini Apple Shisha and slowly exhales making a couple of smoke rings as he does so.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

The microphone was easy to access and soon the sounds of their conversation were flooding into the earphones.

The man holding the phone was speaking with his head looking towards Thomas, "...was saying, why not just take him down?  I mean seriously what has he done for us?"

"What are you, retarded?  Anarch activity won't be tolerated by Rocha and you know it." Cammie's voice boomed in and the glare on her face showed that they weren't half hearted though the respect/fear with which she mentioned the sheriff's name could be heard through her anger.

Thomas meanwhile chuckled, "Calm down and be patient Anton.  Its all going according to plan.  My friend's should be here soon.  Trust me they'll have a plan on how we handle our next heist.  Hopefully they'll be pleased."

"Thomas...please tell me that you didn't invite Naomi here.  I told you not to talk to her...I...I can't be a part of this...rethin.."

"Enough arguments effendi.  We are all on the same path.  Cammie, my dear...you know that we can't do this without you.  We need your influence and connections.  Thomas, the Sabbat are not wolves without teeth.  We need to have a plan for them, not the other way around."

"Aram, I know you think you are the spiritual leader but shut the fuck up.  Thomas, hear me and hear me well.  Don't do this.  If you do I will have to see that Camarilla law is upheld.  Send them home without your pledge of assistance.  I'm out...make sure you all do the right thing."

Cammie rises grabs her jacket and storms out.  The other woman sitting with them claims her place and grabs Thomas' arm hugging him close.

"Don't worry about her lover.  You and I can see this through but we'll need to get rid of a few hurdles first."

Leaning close she kisses him deeply and he reciprocates as Aram rolls his eyes and Anton smirks creepily.

[Private to Isah Stone: Didn't really give you a lot to respond to their.  Rocha is the sheriff, I will post his background info soon.  Naomi is an unknown.]

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

At this point Isah is not sure what to expect to have walk into his club. Though he keeps the feed open he has it to where he can cut it at a moments notice in case it is discovered. With the idea that they are expecting more people to come Isah gets the attention of an employee.

"Excuse me could I please try a different flavor and maybe something to drink. A hot tea."

spending the blood to be able to hold down the tea and also breath, have heartbeat and other human functions for the scene

The only other thing for the time being that Isah is wanting to do is to put the names said in the conversation to the faces that are speaking.

OOC: You identified Thomas and Cami just trying to get a handle on which the rest are so I know who those names in the conversation go with which physical description. Thanks

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Anton was obviously the drug addict and aggitator of the group.  The spiked black hair and guy liner seemed to fit his general demeanor.  Aram spoke with a thick middle eastern accent and seemed the most collected of the group.  The other dark skinned girl was yet unnamed in the conversation.  With Cammie leaving and Thomas otherwise occcupied Aram rises and moves to speak to some of the ladies in the room.

As he does the door swings open and a woman dressed in a sheer white dress enters.  Her golden hair and regal stature put her out of place in a location such as this.  Herr left hand has a ring wrapping around the entire length of her index finger.  its made of silver and shaped like a serpent.  A large man steps in behind her and positions himself at the door.  He has an ear piece to go with his black suit.  Standing just over 6'10" and probably weighing 350+ he casts an intimidating presence.  Clearly subtelty is not on this woman's mind.  Scanning the room she purses her lips then frowns at the sight of Thomas but her face lights up when she spots Aram.  Crossing the room she greets Aram with a kiss on each cheek and hugs him.

For his part Aram seems surprised and pleased all at once.  He immediately begins speaking in a slavik sounding language.  Judging from the physical greeting it is probably pleasantries.  The rest of Aram's group looks confused and seem to be asking eachother who she is and watching as if a clue were about to emerge.

Turning towards the nearest staff person the woman motions around the room.  "Is there perhaps a chance I can rent this place for a private party tonight?  Money is no object my dear...as long as there is enough Vodka?"

As she asks the waitress nearest to her one of the others hands Isah his requested stock.

Isah leans back in his chair and slightly closes his eyes to give him that sort of stoned look and to make it harder for people to see what he is looking at. With this done he takes a look at the new woman and man that just walked in. He is observing the subtle things to attempt to see if they are as him. Do they seem to be blinking, breathing, is their skin pink or pale? While doing this Isah drinks his tea.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

The large man at the door appears in all respects to be human.  He is breathing and his skin, despite being pale has splotches of color and is pink along his neckline.  The woman is a different story.  She makes noa ttempt to blend at all.  Her pale skin, the lack of a rise and fall of her busom, and the cold dead eyes give her away for what she was...as long as someone knew to look.

Aram laughs and waves the waitress of while saying, "Not necessary.  We will not need much room.  Thomas my man, I believe you know Vera Galepalli, no?  Vera is an old friend from the old world.  I did not think we'd meet again in this lifetime."

While Aram's tone is friendly and cordial, Thomas' is not as his voice booms through the room.  "I have no use for her or her kind.  they offer promises with slithering tongues and only deliver despair.  You choose poorly in friend's Aram...very poorly."

Issa smirks and says something else in the slavik language while motioning towards Thomas with disdain.  Thomas for his part starts to pull up from the coucch only to be stopped by a harsh glance from Aram and temporary eye contact.  Looking away Thomas shrugs and motions for a waitress.  Anton just watches with a confused grin on his face.  Seeing no signs of anything further he rises and heads directly towarrds Isah and slides into his table with a smirk.  "Yo, my man...YOOOooo.  You looking for something a little more hardcore than this shit?  Trust me my dude, what I have will rock your world.  Its called Kindred Dust.  Trust me, its a high like you wouldn't believe."

Isah's head turns slowly but his eyes very very quickly toward the man. In a tone that seems quickened but also trying to be held back at the same time Isah says.

"No... um ..yes..I mean no im good already playing the powerball right now. The main vein is the name of the game!"

Isah hoping this weirdness will detract this bloodsucker away from his presence. If not he will see where this conversation goes from here.

[Private to Dante Hargrave: By the way you did just kind of hit on something that I was going to discuss with you involving character development later on. I wanted to developed some sort of ritual that would use my characters blood in a dried and Compounded form and when burned and inhaled made the person or people who did so more susceptible to me. In a sense made them more easily influenced and manipulated by me. This would be accomplished primarily by mixing this substance in with the hookah tobacco but could be applied other ways as long as the vapors given off entered their system.]

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Tilting his head to a side and giving Isah a what the f... look Anton shakes his head and rises from the table before smirking over his shoulder and shrugging, "Your loss my man..."

Vera crosses her arms and scowls at Aram and the group.  She seems about to say something when a young woman with red streaked blak hair pushes past the large man standing the door.  As she does her face contorts into an irritated scowl but before she can say anything to him Thomas rises and smiles broadly.  "Katherine!  Our company is much improved by your arrival.  Please, come and talk to Anton and me.  The others we will speak of later..."'

A meaningful glance is cast in Vera and Aram's direction he leaves whatever else he was going to say unsaid.  Anton quickly bounces back to Thomas' couch and kisses Katherine's hand before waiting for her to sit down.  It was obvious that for whatever he appeared to be Anton was skilled in the matters of a court based upon the gracefulness of his bow as he kissed her hand.  Katherine, for her part, politely nods, casts a glance towards Vera, and then takes a seat.  As she does Thomas leans close.  The mic on Anton's phone still playing Isah can hear portions of the conversation.

"My sister believes we are better off without your help.  I prefer to believe we are stronger with it.  My group has already claimed both a victory against those that you would call traitors.  One is on ice waiting for the right moment, the other is due to see the sunrise today at the stadium...fifty yard line no less."

"Fucker wasn't easy to catch either.  Can't wait to broadcast the morning on the local news.  Should be exactly what we need to get some respect."

Katherine sits theree staring blankly at the two.  She seems to be considering something but for now just lets them talk.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Isah had the mind to turn on Anton's speaker on his phone and broadcast a nice message about him watching a sunrise if he ever tried to deal or gather a heard in his establishment but the information he was gathering was to good to ruin by revealing his hand.

Instead Isah decided to log all the information he has currently collected. He then since he is already tapped into the phone decides to access it and pull the phone number and Sim card and IMIE number so he can be able to access the phone remotely anywhere anytime.

With all the new faces appearing in the establishment Isah sitting in the chair with his back to the wall as usual examines and assess the individuals. He is taking stock and observing all the subtle nuances to assess who are vampire. With this figured out he feel as though he is beginning to be a little encroached on and decides to get up and move to a different location in the bar.

He is fine moving a good distance away from the area where Anton and Thomas is sitting as he can hear their conversation through his headphones. As for Vera and the large man Isah stays within ear shot of them.

Isah thinks to himself "Maybe I will go check out this stadium in a bit but first lets see if there is more to find out here"

Aram, Vera, and the large man stand quietly talking to eachother in that same Slavik sounding language before turning to the door and disappearing into the night's air.

Meanwhile Thomas and Anton seem to be growing a little uncomfortable with the silence of Katherine.  She merely looks without anyone emotion from one to the next.

'It wasn't easy but is it enough to get us sanctioned?  I mean we're doing our best here but we don't kno...er we don't have...well we don't have a playbook here.  We're kinda making up as we go along.  We need a sponsor and a priest.  It's the only way we're going to thrive....Are you here to help or just sit there staring blankly?"

Clearly growing more irritated he looks from Anton to Katherine and back.  Anton shifts uncomfortably and casps his hands together as his eyes narrow and he looks off into the distance.

Smirking at the two sitting next to her Katherine leans back in her seat and seems pretty relaxed.  Her voice is melodic and almost enchanting.  "You are still immature, uncontrolled, unrefined.  Your mannerisms are uncivilized.  Perhaps if you learned to respect yourself you would not so desperately seek the approval of others."

Her words seem to irritate Thomas but before he can speak she holds up her hand and lowers her gaze at Thomas.  She holds eye contact with him for several moments before her voice rings in again.  "You will head to the stadium and release your hostage.  Then you will disappear for three weeks.  When you surface again we'll talk.  Complete these tasks and we can discuss whether you are fit to be considered to join our cause.  Till then, do as you're TOLD."

Isah ponders a moment "who to shadow, the one that can lead me to this hostage. Or the one that is obviously more powerful and part of some organization he is trying to gain entry to. Decisions..Decisions".

With that though Isah decides the who of the hostage is only important to those that want to know. And the fact that he was instructed to release the hostage and dissapeared if he wants to join the woman's organization leads him to believe the hostage will be fine. Isah decides he will stay to find more out about this woman and her organization. Shadow her when she leaves his establishment.

Katherine rises and clearly the conversation is at an end.  Not sparing a second glance towards Anton and Thomas she heads towards the door and then steps out into the night.  Standing there for a second she inhales deeply and flips her hair over her left shoulder.  Hailing a cab she climbs in and departs for yet anotehr meeting.

Meanwhile Thomas rises and sneers at the back of Katherine's head before motioning for Anton to follow.  "We better get going if we're gonna get this done before the sun rises.  Come on..."

Soon they too exit and walk towards LP Field and the pedestrian bridge that leads across too it.

Isah thinks getting to his wheels catching up to the taxi and trying to effectively shadow the woman after ripping through the traffic would be sketchy. Following the 2 men on foot however would be easier.

He looks around to make sure Aram,Vera, and the large man are still engaged in conversation. Once he sees them Isah walks out the door and turns the opposite way from Thomas and Anton. He then makes a quick turn at tye corner of his building into the alleyway. Takes a few seconds to observe no one is around then activates level 2 obfuscate.

He then exits the alleyway and begins following Thomas and Anton.

Anton and Thomas head straight across the pedestrian bridge without looking back or around.  They don't even speak unitl they reach the edge of the Field's property.  "Seriously dude, why the fuck are we doing here.  Lets just strike out on our own."

Thomas glares at Anton and moves impossibly fast pnning Anton against the gates of the field.  "We have a job to do.  I will not disappoint Katherine and neither will you.  Try to get out of this and I will feed you your own intestines.  We clear?"  Sneering at his friend it was clear that his beast was just barely in check.  Anton shakes his head and mumbles something about "being with ya.

Thomas lets him go and hops over the fence without another word.  Anton looks around as if considering abandoning his friend but chooses to follow suit in the end and hops the fence himself.  Crossing the ground quickly they reach the outside doors and pull one of them open.  Sliding inside they disappear into the darkness without a glance over their shoulders.

Just past the fenceline, partially obscured beneath some bushes is a security guard's body.  The smell of blood in the airr speaks of wasted drink and even from here Isah can see the two bullet holes in the man's skull, probably small caliber rounds at close range but hard to say for certain from here.  Over near the door another lies slumped against the wall with red streaks running from about six feet off the ground down to where the body rests now.

Atop the scoreboard Isah notices a dark shadow lying prone with a long rifle extending out in front of him.  He is only visible for a moment before the cloud cover blocks him out again.   Its then that various sounds, though muffled can be heard.  By the sounds of it people skilled in stealth moving throughout the interior of the stadium itself.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

From his chosen vantage point Isah can see a crude crucifix at midfield.  It seems to have a man attached to it.  He isn't moving and his head is slumped forward.  Thomas and Anton laugh a bit at the sight and quickly hop onto the field and close the distance between the sideline and the center of the field.  About midway there a loud ear shattering boom erupts and a flash a light explodes from atop the scoreboard.  At the same time Anton's head explodes and his body flies sideways landing in a crumpled heap some four feet from where it used to be.

Thomas turns in horror and pauses for a split second before moving with supernatural speed in an effort to get off the field.  He doesn't make it far.  Crumpling to the ground he pounds his fist downwards and screams as blood errupts from his eyeballs.  Shortly thereafter foam pours from his mouth and he begins to twitch violently.  As he does three men in black clothing emerge from the shadows.  Each wears what appears to be a triangular night vision device that glows with a purple, almost blacklight glow.  Two of them hold FS2000 rifles with silencers attached.  The third cradles a rifle that almost looks like a tranquilizer gun.  Motioning with a circle of his right index finger and holding up 3 digits he taps his wrist and holds an open hand upwards as an ambulance drives onto the field towards Anton's body.

The ambulance stops in front of the crucifix and the crew that emerges quickly moves first to Anton and drives a stake through his chest then binds his hands and feet.  They then move on to Thomas and perform similar procedures.  After the two of them are loaded up they set the crucified man on fire with what looks like some sort of incendiary device that burns almost white hot.  They then load up as the sniper on the scoreboard slides down a zipline and lands atop the ambulance with almost preternatural grace.  The ambulancce then quicckly leaves the field as sirens of police vehicles sound in the distance.

Soon the field is quiet and as the moments tick by it seems to be empty save for the burning man at center field.  After about three minutes police vehicles scream into the parking lot and the officers begin scouring the perimeter.  Their slow methodical approach gives Isah plenty of time to slip by and leave the field without any notice at all.  Atop the pedestrian bridge Isah can see the news crews arriving....

The crowd is lighter now as most have moved on to the bars and clubs and heavy drinking.  A few laid back individuals still mill about but most are just enjoying the night or relaxing and unwinding.  Right now eight people mill about the place, a group of four middle aged women, two middle eastern guys, and a small group of business men and women hanging out and wishing a colleague farewell in some sort of going away party.

A review of the cameras for the short time he was gone doesn't show much either.  Aram and his friend left in a black mustang shortly before Thomas and Anton left.  The night is still young though adn anything could happen...

Knowing that things are going comfortably at his establishment for the time being and not wanting to bring this kind of attention to his place of business. Isah decides it is time to go feed. Feeling the need for a top off after using his vitae in his establishment then again at the stadium. He does not want to give the beast any edge over him nor be at any disadvantage should an altercation occur.

Isah leaves the Hookah bar in search for a more crowded bar or club. Trying to stay away from local type establishments prefering more "Chain" style bars like you would find in "Chain" type restaurants or "Chain" style clubs. This in an effort to not step on any other toes so to speak and hopefully stay off any other kindred's radar.

With this in mind he is looking for the well inebriated person (gender who cares really at this point he is on the hunt) that is alone to approach. He will observe the before approaching so he can get a feel of how to approach them before doing so. He is not looking for someone who is alone because they don't want anyone around but just someone who is alone or better yet just lonely.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Second avenue has a wealth of bars, most are overcrowded and extremely loud, due to the live music.  The two easiest to gain entry to are Rippys, a sports type bar next door to teh Bridgestone Arena wherre the Nashville Predators play, and The Second Fiddle bar.  The Second Fiddle iis already cclaimed turf but as long as respects are paid and only what is needed is taken Hasiin, the owner, does not mind kindred feeding there.  Otherwise there are numerous other clubs that can be used for feeding including the ever popular Red Door Saloon off of Broadway.  Though a little bit of a cab ride it was always filled with drunken students from Vanderbilt University.

As Isah has stayed under the radar since his change and arrival in the city he elects to not go in the already claimed establishment. Electing to go into Rippy's he focuses the power of his blood to once again mimic the signs of lifeburning a blood for skin to be warm to the touch as it is already not pale, also for heartbeat. I am also focusing on breathing and blinking as to look natural

He looks for the woman that seems to have already have had to much to drink and is looking for someone to take home or to be taken home by. Bypassing any who might already have possible suitors as he does not really care to draw the undue attention that a bar brawl with a bunch of mortals would cause.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

It does not take Isah long to find a suitable meal.  Three women sit at a corner table watching the band play, though a bit older than the normal college types that frequented the bars down here they were nonetheless attractive.  Its not long before one goes to the bar to order drinks and gets caught up in a conversation with a young college male.  A brunette heads to the bathroom while the last, a blond sits be herself glancing around looking for some attention.   She makes eye contact with Isah but then looks away with a sly smile.

Meanwhile the band launches into a rendition of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"  The crowd hoots and hollars and soon are singing along with the band...

Something strikes Isah as amiss though its hard to place.  There was the issue with it being too easy but that wasn't it, no, there was something else.  It was right there but difficult to place.

The woman walked towards the door with a smile on her face and a casual glance over her shoulder.  She tosses her hair to the side and pauses at the door.  Leaning against the doorframe the night's breeze blows a few strands of hair across her face.  As it does she reaches out to pull Isah close. When she speaks her voice is melodic and her thick New York accent is easy to pick out.   "I couldn't talk to you in there.  I'm Amy and I guess you can tell that I'm not from here.  Tell me, are you down for some fun tonight stranger?"

While the woman is speaking Isah is looking at her body seeming to be having eye sex with her. He is looking for any signs of what could be disease or needle marks that could lead to possible disease.

Isah still keeping his flirtatious smile and calm demeanor
Although something is just not sitting right to him senarious begin flashing through his mind. He begins to scrutinize the woman for any signs of her being off in any way from being mortal. As he impersonates them all to often he knows the one aspect that cannot be recreated is the scent that the human body gives off in the form of the oils secreted from the flesh through the process of sweating and and growing and shedding of dead skin.

Isah leans in closely next to her ear"What did you have in mind for the evening."while doing this he takes a deep breath seeming to smell the woman and her perfume but actually checking for this and if possible trying to smell her blood from within to see if it carries anything unwanted to him.

Although her attire is probably club appropriate he still does the usual weapons check "a visual look" is her hand bag small or oversized?

She gave off every indicator of being human and the devilish smirk on her face seemed to indicate more intimate times were ahead but something was just a tad off about the woman.  No weapons, unusual items on the clothing, etc.  Whatever was eating at Isah's mind remained just out of focus.

Stepping close she runs her finger along his cheek and bites her top lip.  "Play your cards right and this could be the best night of your life lover."

Leaning closer she lightly plants a kiss on his cheek and grabs his hand trying to pull him towards the parking lot on the other side of the street.

That devilish smirk persists and as she turns away to point at the car it's hard to miss the perfection of her profile, the even proportions, almost text book spacing of her facial features and the flawless line of her cheekbones.  Even her smirk was on perfectly formed lips and not the kind mortal surgeons could create, no it was clear that she was either genetically flawless or, more likely she knew a fleshcrafter.

Looking back over her shoulder she giggles and nods towards the grey Grand Caravan (Dodge minivan) parked in the lot.  "All the rental agency had was a mom mobile.  Hopefully its not too big a turnoff?"

Isah using his skillssecurity or investigationlooks at the van when she makes the comment. While looking he assess the van to see if it looks like the typical "type" of something a vampire could hide from the sun in, are the windows blacked out? Does it seem to have curtains that can be drawn over the windows from tye inside? While he is taking this quick glance he also tries to see if he can see any occupants in the van.

Not making any of this seem obvious just what I can take in from the quick glance of looking at the van that she points out.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

The car was as nondescript as they come.  No tint, no shading, no accessories...just a run of the mill minivan.  The only oddity is that there are no vehicles parked next to it.  There are at least three to four parking spots between it and the next vehickes.  Why that is does not appear readily determinable.  A few people mill about around the parling lot but most are either arriving or preparing to leave the downtown area.  There aren't any current occupants but obviously she plans on trying to change that scenario.  Tugging Isah's arm she still has that devilish grin on her face.

"I take your silence as a nonissue then my dear...ohh Gd...don't tell me you're a weirdo,,,"

As she speaks herr eyes dart from the van to the alleyway near it and then back.  Its a momentary drop in the smooth fascade and hardly noticable were it not for him already noticing oddities.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

This vampire thing might still be fairly new to Isah but in his line of work he has seen people go out in death in many different ways. He thinks to himself "yes there could be someone in the ally and knowing what he is now it could be someone like him. Then again he thinks it's somewhat odd that in the parking lot in a busy tourist town why are there no other vehicles parked near this one? This could be some kind of vendetta that he was not aware of." Either way he does not want to risk having to use his powers to slip away because he does not want to reveal his presence in the city especially since he has heard something of "factions" of his kind so he quickly says.

"No No" patting himself down "I must have left my wallet in the bar because it is not on me. I will just run and grab it then be right back."

As he says this he runs his hand down her back and has it come to a rest on her butt gently groping it while he kisses her on her neck.

This will give him the chance to exit whatever this may be without revealing what he is.

He then releases her and heads toward the bar keeping his senses sharp to the surroundings but not to the point of looking figity or obvious.

Since they have seemed to have lost interest once the focus is off him as he walks without looking back at the alleyway Isah walks back toward the club. Using his eidetic memory to picture exactly where the ally is in relation to where he is to ensure he is out of view of the ally. The first set of shadows he passes that he is out of that view and eyesight of onlookers he hides himself in the shadows first followed by unseen presence. Once hidden he moves to a different  location to watch what is about to play out between the women and the new guy they have brought. Also watching the alleyway to see what if anything emerges.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Watching from his vantage point Isah can see the two woman rubbing all over their new mark.  Seductively kissing his neck, permitting the roving hands they lead his towards the van.  As they do its hard not to notice the car that just parked two rows behind the van.  Nothing really compelling about the Accord or its occupants but as they approach the area around the van they swing wide and walk outside the perimeter of the open spots around it.  It seems as if they do this subconsciously and don't even notice themselves.

Its then that movement in the alleyway catches Isah's eye.  Though obscured by the shadows something massive shifts inside it and a large armored looking hand grips the edge of the wall.  Its about five times the size of a normal hand and covered in thick yellowish armored and spiked plates.  A head briefly peeks out of the shadows and its malshapen maw closely resembles a demonesque skull with fangs extending past its nose and horns curled around its ears.  Snarling it smashes its hand into the ground and violently shakes its head from side to side before disapearing into the shadows once more, this time more completely, as if by use of vampiric methods.  the woman who was trying to entice Isah seems to noticce as well and appears to breathe a sigh of relief as the monstrosity disappears.

Leading their new mark to the van one of the women pins him against the van with an agressive kiss and lets her hands roam below the waist as well.  Fondling the man to keep his attention on her while her counterpart glances around and then slides open the door and long slender arms fling outwards grabbing the man's head and pulling sideways.  When the hands pull away for a second the man's head is malshapen and its clear that his jaw has been fused to limit his ability to cry out.  A tall slender man with almost nondescript features climbs out and moves, almost glides towards the man.  Leaning close he tilts his head to the left and sinks his fangs in for a few seconds before pulling away and quickly going to work altering the man's appearance in horrific and painful looking ways.  It only takes a few moments but when the man pulls away and returns to the van his victim is now a malshapen deformed version of his former self.  His hands are folded inwards and appear useless, his ams elongated and flimsy at the shoulders, his spine curved in a viscious manner, and his face almost looking like it was turned inside out.  Collapsing to the ground in obvious agony a faint moaning sound can be heard from him.

The women climb into the van and start it up before beginning to drive away leaving the poor victim behind.  It only takes a moment before a woman notices him and begins screaming as two men rush towards the creature.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Did both women get into the van before it left? ( Im assuming so)

If so Isah decides he should leave the scene before police and news crews or possibly others of his kind show up to investigate this occurances. Also one would think they may be making rounds to the various clubs pulling this all around town. He decides to quickly head back to his establishment going through the back alleyways and side streets to get there under obfuscate hoping to come upon a homeless or drunk individual he can get a quick drink from on his way.

Once arriving at his club Isah thinks back using his ability to recall events in graphic detail to get an immage of the van and if at any time did he get into a position to see the license plate on it? He also checks the outside of his establishment before entering to make sure said van or no vehicle that is strangely parked with no vehicles parked near it is there.

He then enters and goes straight to the back where the camera monitoring room is and begins using a laptop with no internet access to create a photo profile of the women and the creature he observed. He then makes notes of their activities of what happened and what he observed creating a dossier. He then encrypt the harddrive and sets a complex password before powering off the computer to watch his monitors.

With the numerous homeless in Nashville a meal was easy to find.  His thirst sated Isah finds his way back to his own lub.  Once there he looks around and sees no sign on the van or its occupants.  Once inside the file is easy to compile with remarkable detail even the van's license number, California plates 1 B1T3U.

As he powers up the monitors he can see that the club is packed with hipsters who were holding an unapproved poetry event of some sort but it had gathered a crowd.  Everyone seemed to fit into the current crowd and no one looked out of place.  The exterior monitors showed a few goth types milling about outside and they could spell trouble for the hipsters as the two did not usually mingle well but that was pretty common place.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Seeing what he has seen so far Isah decides it is best to stay armed. He tucks his knife in the back of his pants a stake in his jacket and a collapsible baton in his pocket for less than lethal use. He then ensures his equipment is recording before heading out to make his rounds through the club. Seeing as nothing seems out of the ordinary he takes a seat in a spot in the club that is darker that will allow him a view of the front door yet has the shadowing to allow for the use of his powers should he need to use them. He then removes his tablet and opens the application and authenticates the password to watch the camera feeds from outside of the club. This in case he needs to send an employee out to see if they would like to be seated in the outdoor area or if need be Isah will go out there if things look like they might become to rowdy or violent.

Isah has thus far been concentrating on blending in and not making himself known within the city. Yet whatever these factions are among his kind he is unsure of their purposes, motivations, and intentions. What he has seen is that they at least in part seem to be feuding amongst themselves and killing indiscriminately. He thinks to himself "Don't get me wrong, I have killed plenty myself but not so blatantly weird like and not just random and indiscriminate. " He finds himself wanting to do something about this recent issue at the club. He doesn't want to hack the police databank because chances are they would just ditch the vehicle and change their apperance. Yet at the same time he does not want to come forward to  the society he now belongs to because it seems they are not trustworthy.

He thinks back to the brief time he had with his sire and how he would approach this situation. Did he give him any advise? Did he share with him a way to find others of his clan in a given city so that he may come to better understand unlife?

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

The blade beneath his clothes seems to pulse as his thoughts center on others but only for the briefest of seconds.  It then seems to return to its normal inanimate state.  Whatever triggered it seems to have now passed.  The silver etchings along the blade sparkle in the desk light.  The arabic symbols spelling out a single word that had yet to be deciphered.  It was a work of art of a long forgotten artist and the single jewel in the hilt was close to an almost rose/pinkish color but seemed to change based on how the lights hit it.  Still no answers were to be had there...

The monitors now showed a smaller crowd as the poetry slam seems to have died down and the Goth's outside did not cause any trouble as the patrons left.  Over all the night seemed to be winding down.   Still as the club cleared out a broad shouldered, dark skinned man with a shaved head enters.  He looks around before positioning himself at the door and speaking with a waitress and then speaking with everyone who exits the door in a seemingly friendly manner.  Shortly thereafter the waitress, Cassandra, returns with a small cup of turkish coffee to which he smiles and gratefully accepts.

Though the actions seem innocuous enough there is something about him that seems intentionally out of place but its hard to determine exactly what it is.

Isah stays in his current position observing the man. He sits back in his seat so his face is as obscured as possible within the darkness of the shadows. In order to test a theory he reaches for the knife where it is to just touch the handle. Isah then focuses on watching the new arrival. Firstly to see if anything happens in connection to the knife and also to observe any signs that would make him seem out of place among the mortals that usually frequent the establishment.

About the same time as it pulses the man looks up and scans the room with frenzied interest, hs eyes darting from one person to another.  After a quick scan of the room he places his cup on the counter and begins to head deeper into the club while casually studying various items throughut the interior though his attention never seems truly focused on them.

Though the man's natural skin color seems to be a dark black ccolor the almost jet black nature of his skin gives away his true nature, at least to those who knew what to look for.  He also seemed to not care about pretenses of being mortal as hischest did not rise and fall and there was no sign of a pulse.  His unblinking cold eyes were the thing of nightmares.

Leaning forward he bites the inside of the left side of his lips.  Studying Isah for a few moments he slides a ring off his finger and spins it on the table.  Looking up for a moment his menacing glare subsides and though his posture speaks of boredom with the conversation its clear he has some interest.

"I can think of only two groups who take their childer off for training and as you do not look to be a sorcerer I assume you mean the holy land and the mountain.  Would you be able to tell me the name of the mountain I speak of and if so, I would be very interested in your sire's name and what fate befell him."

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

In a hushed tone Isah says Alamut

Isah tells him the way in which it happened and the name of the one that made him.

OOC: I don't think we ever assigned a name for my characters sire and somehow the PM thread with the actual incident of his death we discussed somehow got delegated on my end.

"He did leave me with this gift before his passing."

Isah looks to the dagger that was given to him by his sire. Once he sees that Ahmed is comfortable with his actions Isah slowly and with purposeful intent so Ahmed is aware of what he is doing reaches for the dagger.

Isah takes it out of the sheath to expose the unknown word upon it "I do not know if this gives you anymore insight of the one who made me. I have yet to discern what this word means."

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

The word seemed to put him at ease.  Rising he slides the ring back on his finger as he looks to Isah.  "Slade Paxton?  I am not familiar with thename but that means little as we all have many faces.  I am sorry for his and your loss.  May he find peace amongst his ancestors."

Bowing his head respectfully it seems as if he means his words.  As Isah draws the blade his curiosity piques and he smirks as the blade is produced.  When Isah asks him about the words on the side Ahmed steps closer to inspect them.  As he does his eyes grow wide and he shakes his head as he speaks with a tone of disbelief, "Al Hakam?  Your sire was the Al Hakam?  Tis not possi...forgive my insolence.  My Cyrillic is very rusty but I believe it says the words Blood of the Clan.  I have heard stories of this weapon and its purpose."

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Isah gives a silent bow of the head when Ahmed speaks of his loss. His posture seems to relax a bit the tension in his body fades and he sits in a more relaxed manner.

"I will admit i am curious about the stories you have heard about this blade. However first if you wouldn't mind I would like to know more about our clan and the one who made me."

Isah puts the blade back into the sheath.

"I was given some information as to what to expect, he told me that our clan does things similar to the line of work that I have been in for many years."

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

"The Al Hakam is roughly translated as the giver of justice.  There are few in the clan who are tasked with metting out justice to those who break Alamut's laws.  Your sire was one such person.  He was not just a hunter nor a killer but rather a hunter of those who had our gifts but refused the laws and order of the mountain.  If that blade is what I believe it is then it has the ability to beckon our clanmates to it and if you are in a place that one such as us calls home you can summon them there.  I suspect you mistakenly used it to summon those near you.  I am not surprised that only I am still here as most have been recalled bac....Is this a test?  Have I done something to anger the elders?"

At first his tone is a mix of respect and awe but as he nears the end it changes to one of suspicion and fear.  His eyes dart around the room and his left hand moves to his belt clutching a blade there.  It wasn't an aggressive move but rather one truly born of reflex and fear.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

"No that is not the case this is my establishment. I was thinking on if my sire had left me any clue as to how to contact others of my kind while holding the blade. Then I saw you enter i watched you for quite a while even though I recognized that you had the same unnatural skin color as my sire before deciding to reveal myself by approaching to speak with you. I am leery about reveling my presence to any vampire due to what I have witnessed in my short time in this city."

Isah pulls a prepared hookah to the table and lights the charcoal offering it Ahmed in hopes of easing his tensions.

"Let us enjoy this import from the middle east and speak freely"

Isah takes the first draw of the hookah after setting the second tubing with which to smoke from on the table in front of Ahmed.

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

Relaxing a bit Ahmed looses his grip on the hilt and pulls the blade forth.  It is coated in a substance that is pretty easy for Isah to recognize.

"My apologies effendi.  I did not know if I was being beckoned to arrive somewhere to my detriment.  Still it is rude to partake of another's hospitality with distrust in one's heart.  I show you this blade and remark on the other in a springsheath on my left wrist as a gesture of trust.  I will now lay my weapons aside and trust in the customs of old."

With a flick of his left wrist a blade shoots from the hidden sheath into his hand and he deftly spins it between his fingers before placing it away from the table along with the other blade.

Then, graciously bowing his head Ahmed partakes in the hookah.  Leaning back he breathes in the fragrant smoke and holds it for a long while before exhaling with a smile.  "Do you parchance have turkish coffee served here?  I know it is strong for Americans but I do miss it so."

Regardless of the answer Ahmed sits quietly for a short while seemingly enjoying the quiet comfort of the hookah.  After a few tokes he finally leans forward and folds his hands in front of him.  "There are many dangers from our own kind my friend but lately a darkness has been rising in the South and is even now stretching its tendrils into this city.  The shadows speak of a new power rising and of an empire falling.  I fear that our own mistrust in our own kind may lead us to be easy prey to this power but tell me, of what are your concerrns born from?"

Re: Simpler Times - Isah Stone

"Of course I have tried to make this place into what would be a good gathering place for our clan. I only ask that no feeding take place in it so as not to arouse any suspicions that it is anymore than what it seems."

Isah places a call from his phone to the food area

" Hello could you prepare a Turkish coffee and have Gale bring it to the private area for my guest"

While waiting for the coffee to arrive Isah speaks with Ahmed.

"My main concern is that I was not able to receive proper training and education from our clan due to the circumstances. Additionally it has come to my attention that among vampire society there are sects and these sects in this city seem to be feuding amongst themselves and with each other. With that in mind I have so far decided aginst revealing myself to the sects or other vampires of this city."

Isah pauses a moment to allow Ahmed to speak and address what he has said.

"I have also made a dossier on a recent attack that I witnesses where the mortal in question was left as nothing more than a pile of living flesh and bone. This one was the most disturbing to me because killing is one thing but indiscriminate killing of a mortal just for the thrill of the kill seems to be a heinous act. The way in which it took place showed great cowardess in my opinion."

After Ahmed replies to this Isah holds off on further conversation in expectation of the woman arriving with Ahmed's coffee simply enjoying the smoke in silence until the woman departs.
