E1S1 - Somewhere at sea - Ty'daal
Ty'daal:

[OOC: Does Ty'daal live aboard his escape craft somewhere off-shore, or does he have some other place that he stays? What does he eat? Also, you get to choose two of the following effects that come automatically with Water Control power (any of the others can be done as a Stunt): Attacking, Creating, Defending, Detecting, Moving, and Shaping. Since dehydration is a Challenge for Ty'daal, Creating probably isn't a great choice, and Detecting water in the middle of the Pacific might not be all that useful either. :)]

Castaway that you are, you've been spear-fishing west of the islands, pursuing a large school of albacore. You've been at it for six or seven hours, and are nearly two hundred miles out. Sound carries well underwater, and for the past hour you've been hearing the heavy engine-thrumm of a large vessel nearby--most likely a commercial fishing trawler.

Suddenly, there's a metallic klangg that is so loud you feel its impact across your entire body! The albacore scatter in confusion.

When your hearing returns, you catch the engine noise again, but now it has a whining tone, as if it's over-revving and close to its limit!

Re: E1S1 - Somewhere at sea - Ty'daal
Ty'daal snarls as the albacore scatter, 'Hours of the hunt wasted' the warrior thinks to himself as his gaze turns into the direction of the horrendous sound. He considers for a moment ignoring the distraction, but then realizes that it may continue and he might not eat this evening. "Foolish humans," he spits out before swimming off at his top speed towards the sound.

(Yes, I would imagine that Ty'daal uses the "flooded" (I put it in quotation marks since its natural state is to be filled with water) escape craft as his home where he landed it off the shore of Akamai City. As to the Water Control I will take Defending and Shaping.)

Re: E1S1 - Somewhere at sea - Ty'daal
You cover a couple of miles in just a few minutes, homing in on the shrill engine noise. As you approach, you can hear other sounds as well; tearing metal, and loud splashes, as if objects were hitting the ocean's surface.

Ahead of you, and above, you spot the hull of the fishing trawler; its nets trail on either side, and they both appear to be shredded. Chunks of metal and fiberglass are sinking through the water beneath the ship--and you can see thrashing figures! There are at least three humans struggling to remain afloat near the vessel.

Most astonishing of all, though, is the obvious source of the trawler's distress--a giant squid! It's silver-gray body is at least twenty feet long, and it's eight powerful tentacles add another ten feet to it's length. The two whip-like handling tentacles are even longer, and are wrapped firmly around the trawler's hull! One of the squid's huge eyes is visible, glowing sullen red as it pivots to look in your direction.

Re: E1S1 - Somewhere at sea - Ty'daal
Ty'daal gestures shaping the water into dense columns underneath the three struggling humans and lifting them up out of the water to deposit them onto the ship. He then looks behind him over both shoulders then stares back at the squid, "You looking at me?" he snarls, challenging the beast.

(Not sure what I need to roll for that particular action, I will guess my Water Control, so will roll that and let me know if I did it right.18:42, Today: Ty'daal rolled 4,5 using 1d6,1d6 with rolls of 4,5. Lift fishermen out of water. So that would be 4-5= -1. With my Water Control 5, that would be a total of 4 correct?)

In reply to Ty'daal (msg # 4):

[OOC: Correct!]

Ty'daal easily lifts the struggling sailors back to the deck--they might be safer there than in the water.

The baleful red eye looks at you, then with a metallic click it dismissively swings back toward the ship. With a creak of metal, it's handling tentacles tighten around the hull, driving it's serrated, silver beak deeper into the bowels of the ship. A huge bubble of air is disgorged, as water pours in through the breach! The ship's engines howl, almost concealing another, higher-pitched hum.

[Compel: Ty'daal 'Allows no Insult'--but you have just been treated as insignificant. Take a point of Determination if you decide to redress that insult rather than, say, rescue sailors whose ship is sinking.]

Re: E1S1 - Somewhere at sea - Ty'daal
Ty'daal sneered at the squid, "You will rue the day you mocked Ty'daal foul beast!" he roared as he shot through the water at the squid like a torpedo.

(I will take that compel, as much as I the player want to focus on the crew. 00:20, Today: Ty'daal rolled 6,2 using 1d6,1d6 with rolls of 6,2=+4. Torpedo Squid. My Strength to hit is limited by my Prowess so that is a +3 so 7 total to hit, 8 damage with my Strength of 8, doing a 'Rushing' attack here.)
