E3S7 - Blue Sea R&D Lab - Ian
Ian:
Arriving at Blue Sea R&D, Dr. Ishida docks the Kiyomi Maru, and drops a hydrophone into the diver's moon pool in the lab. "I have a waterproof computer terminal Angela and... my other lab assistant... used to use. Give me a moment to submerge it."

"The dolphin we were 'conversing' with uses a self-identifying song that I think translates as 'he who goads sharks into attacking himself'. For short I've been calling him 'Sharkbaiter'." Ishida-san says, lowering the waterproof terminal and some other equipment down through the moon pool with the shop crane.

[OOC: Test Intellect vs a Difficulty of 6 to repair or modify your land-suit. Test Intellect vs a Difficulty of 9 to build one for Sharkbaiter.]

Re: E3S7 - Blue Sea R&D Lab - Ian
OOC: First roll is hopefully easy for Ian:
04:16, Today: Amm-Fibian rolled 4,4 using d6,d6. Int for Land Suit.
and it is, with a total of: 0 + 9 = 9

Second roll I'm spending my 1 Determination on, because I really want this Dolphin to have a Dry-Suit!
04:16, Today: Amm-Fibian rolled 4,5 using d6,d6. Dolphin suit.
And the dice roller hates me some more... Total: -1 + 9 = 8 (but used 1 Determination)

Ian:
[OOC: You easily repair and upgrade your land-suit; describe what it now looks like. :)]

The two meter perspex sphere you used for your excursion mini-sub is still handy beneath Blue Sky R&D. It's big enough for the dolphin to fit inside. Of course, once it's not neutrally buoyant, allowing for headspace it's going to be holding over 30 metric tonnes of water... Hydraulic legs should work... Hydraulic manipulators as well... Power supply... Water purification... Communication system... Audio interface for the controls... A gyroscope massive enough to balance 30 tonnes...

[OOC: The details if it's appearance are of course up to you; you're building it. Ian wouldn't get the reference, but starting from a spherical tank this thing is going to wind up looking like the Kool-Aid Man from those old commercials; it'll have the mass to walk right through brick walls like him, too!]

Amm-Fibians suit looks like an old sci fi spacesuit. Slimmer than the actual astronaut moon suits, with a round glass helmet.
The dolphins suit looks like a giant fishbowl Mecha.

Ian:
Sharkbaiter swims into the spherical shell, nosing at the controls and water-filtration vents. : query/how : split-tail : thing/UNT : self : swim/move :  As he vocalizes the sound for "swim", the mecha's audio-command system responds by walking forward--directly into one of the dock supports! : UNT/stop : UNT/emphatic-modifier : UNT/(expletive) : self-location :  He spins around, facing backward through the ball to look at you. : self : talk/sing : make/tell : swim/move : query :

He eyes the rows of posts holding up Blue Sea's docks, then vocalizes carefully : turn : right/starboard : swim/drift : slow :  The mecha's legs work to turn it in place, stirring up sand and silt. Then it steps forward--causing the heavy hydraulic pistons on it's left shoulder to splinter through the wooden post! The mecha tilts, gyroscope straining, and goes face-down on the sandy ocean floor. : UNT/(expletive) : what/UNT : UNT/(expletive) : arms : emphatic-modifier : (rhetorical?)/query :

This might take a while.

"Hmmmm... no problem my friend, we just need some more detail added into the translation and command systems. Give me a moment...
Ishida, please let me know if our friends on the mainland need help will you?"

Amm-Fibian gets to work reprogramming the translator and command modules to better interface with the Dry-Suit.

Ian:
[OOC: Test Intellect vs a Difficulty of 8. Delphinese is hard; just ask Angelfish. :)]

Dr. Ishida's voice over the hydrophone sounds stressed. "The news broadcasts are all off the air; instead there's a loop recording announcing the secession of the island from the state of Hawai'i and the U.S.--The "new government" has declared martial law, and is advising everyone to clear the streets for their own safety. Who is this idiot, and what is he playing at? I can hear explosions up here!"

OOC:  Amm-Fibian rolled 3,5 using d6,d6 ((3,5)).
-2 + 9 = 7 ugh! This dice roller.

"Hmmmm.... Dolphin speech has subtleties I didn't expect. I'll have to team up with Angelfish on this one... and maybe Tydaal can offer some insight. I suppose I'll need to help them defeat this villain first."

Amm-Fibian opens the Dry-Suit and lets the dolphin swim free.
Then he hops up into the boat with Ishida, wearing his new personal Dry-Suit.
He places the TUNA in his hip holster.

"Let's go help our friends Doc."

OOC: Is there some way to try a thing again? I'd like to pursue the Dolphin speech later.

Ian:
[OOC: Sure. Whenever you want to make another invention attempt (possibly with Angelfish's & Ty'daal's help) you can Test again.]

Dr. Ishida is wearing a headset with a microphone and some sort of eyepiece that hangs in front of one eye. "I'm tracking the Mk VII. She's heading toward the MIB building!" He hurries along the dock toward the small parking area adjoining the R&D building. There's only one vehicle parked there, a tiny two-door Japanese import. It's a convertible, so at least you'll have head helmet room.

"Get in! I've made a few improvements to the fuel efficiency--and the top speed."

[OOC: The car:

First a younger girlfriend, now this thing. Ishida-san may be having a tiny bit of mid-life crisis... :)]

Amm-Fibian does a double take at the car, and then "runs" over and clambers in.
"The MIB building should be clear of enemies. She may be heading their as a base. If we can, perhaps we should all gather there. Sunfish Tzu's Art of Sea War says that if you get to narrow ground first, you should fill it."

Re: E3S7 - Blue Sea R&D Lab - Ian
Ian:
Dr. Ishida is a much more... aggressive... driver than Detective Jones. It helps that there are few other vehicles moving on the streets of Akamai City--although there are quite a few which have been abandoned in place by panicking citizens. Ishida-san dodges and weaves through the obstacle course, utterly ignoring the traffic signals.

"Using the MIB tower as a base of operations is a good idea." He says, swerving between a parked delivery truck and an overturned police car. "Hey! You said that Toomey miniaturized an entire army. He's got to have a base of operations too..."

Re: E3S7 - Blue Sea R&D Lab - Ian
Amm-Fibian keeps his eyes shut for most of the journey.
"Yes, base of operations, let's see. It would either be in the MIB building as well, since that's where he did all his shrinking... or it would be mobile."

OOC: Unless I am missing something, Toomey made his army inside the miniaturization room right?

Re: E3S7 - Blue Sea R&D Lab - Ian
Ian:
[OOC: Yes. Your previous deductions indicated that he had, over the course of three years, systematically raided the MIB building for raw materials, and built his microscopic tanks and VTOLs inside the hollowed-out deck of the miniaturiation machine. The stolen prototype tank and VTOL, and his mercenaries of course, were shrunk before the MIB agent's raid. You suspect that Toomey actually expected the raid, and timed his own "disappearance" accordingly. That way, he was sure that his machine would be taken to exactly the place he wanted it to be...]

"To the MIB HQ! I believe the term is Step On It... which considering the size of Toomey's forces is quite a twist of words!"
Amm-Fibian chuckles to himself...
