Re: E3S8 - Liloa
Todd:
You soar over the police station, and see a strange tableau below you: Haikili is in the middle of the street, in a deep crouch with his feathered cape spread behind him and one fist planted wrist-deep in the shattered asphalt! Cracks radiate from his fist in all directions, and surrounding him are a half-dozen blue-armored mercs, all knocked flat by the shockwave!

You land next to him, brandishing your concrete-tipped maul. The SMG-armed mercs scramble backward, and open fire!

The direct shots are dangerous enough, but the riccochets coming off of Haikili's cape could kill you too...

[OOC: Test Coordination vs a Difficulty of 7. The bullets do 5 Stamina on a hit.]

OOC:13:07, Today: Time Keeper rolled -8 using 2d6-11. Super Speed (7) Total 1
Spend a determination point "Master of Time"

Watching the mercs slowly fall to the ground as the ripple hit was like looking at some sort of bad hong kong action movie. Still as he was moving at super speed he moved as a blur to the store locker and retrieved enough handcuffs to bind all the thugs in the area.

With the speed of time at his command he then went from merc to merc knocking their guns away and cuffing their hands as they fell.

Re: E3S8 - Liloa
"Yowza!"

Todd keeps one hand on his improvised maul, divining, spinning and circling around it like a tether ball.

Despite all reasonable expectations his tactic works, and the bullets sail past him.

There's a short break as the mercs pause to reload. Todd fills the gap by lifting his maul and charging the closest group, swinging his maul.

"YARGHHHHHHH!"

Coordination 6 + Acrobatics 1 + Roll 2 = 9. Whew!

Prowess 6 + Roll -1 = 5.

Re: E3S8 - Liloa
Time Keeper:
[OOC: Whoof! Overcoming the -4 modifier was tough, there, but Determined Effort got you through it.]

You disarm and cuff the mercenaries one by one, moving so fast that they have no time to react. The last one is the one standing in front of the metal-reinforced door. You pull his outstretched hand behind him, fighting the heavy resistance of an object still affected by normal time, and clasp the cuffs tight around his wrists. The ring of keys he tossed upward has barely made it to waist height on their way down...

Todd:
You send mercenaries flying in all directions! Behind you, Haikili grabs a pair and tosses them onto the police station's roof. He claps his hands to dust them off--it sounds like thunder. "We're running out of bad guys!" He says.

You glance his way and see that he's grinning from ear to ear. Unfortunately, in the sky above him you can see a pair of VTOLs homing in on your position! They must be the backup "Lime Sera Sera" requested...

Re: E3S8 - Liloa
As time sprung back to the present all the mercs had been cuffed. Time keeper reached out and took the slow falling keys out of the air.

Looking round the master of time moved over to the lockup rooms and started to free the hostage police officers.

Time Keeper:
A thickly-built middle-aged officer with captain's bars on his uniform leads the group out of the cells. His nametag reads Randall Kaanana. "You were on the news!" He exclaims, recognizing your costume. "Who are these guys? They assaulted the station with some kind of armored vehicle..."

Six of the twelve captured police officers are injured--two of them badly. They've been bandaged and tournequetted, but their gunshot wounds need medical attention soon. Capt. Kaanana orders one of the less badly wounded cops to stay with them. "What's the situation outside?" He asks.

Re: E3S8 - Liloa
Time keeper looked at the officer" shit in a hand basket would sum it up but my team and I are trying to right it. There are two of them outside dealing with the tanks now."

He turned to the gathered police, some showing confusion other anger most fear " you are the law here, this scum have come into our city destroying and killing you took an oath to protect and serve now you need to stand up and be counted. Out there are our families, our friends and our community suffering. You need to be the thin blue line that stands between them and this threat. Arm yourself with everything you can. We sweep this building secure it then put an all points call out for anyone with a badge to make their way here. This stops here and now we will show this scum they fight warriors protected by the spirits of the old ways our ancestors will rise up through our deeds to protect us to energise us, we will show this island will not be taken ......"

He looked round the room at each and everyone of them "lets do the job we took our oath for"

As he waits to hear their decision he slips into the time stream to see what options they might have in clearing the building as safely as possible.

Time Keeper:
Your precognitive sense is tingling! You catch a glimpse of VTOLs in flight--strafing the police station with laser fire! But that vision of a possible future is quickly overridden by something much more powerful. Something is about to happen--something that's never happened before in this timeline! It's unprecedented, and dificult for you to grasp. One thing is certain; the destiny of the entire island is about to change!

Time Keeper:
Not all of the cops are native Hawai'ians, but even the newcomers among the group are swayed by your speech. Capt. Kaanana is himself strongly affected. "You heard the man; let's take this city back!"

Your squad of police spread out through the building, clearing rooms one at a time. "Station secure!" "We've got radio contact with Moanamoku, sir, but Downtown isn't responding." "Liloa Dispatch to all units; 10-25 immediately."

You can feel a vibration in the strands of time. Something is about to happen...

Todd:
Your improvised maul strikes the VTOL drone squarely, shattering it! A cascade of tiny metal shards rains down--but none of the bits reach the ground!

Haikili spins around, takes two thundering steps, and launches himself into the air! He snags one wing of his VTOL, spinning it around on it's axis. With a mighty heave, he yanks the thing out of the air, slamming it toward the ground! "Catch!" He yells--but the centrifugal force is too much for the VTOL's structure, and it shreds apart!

The only thing falling out of the sky now is Haikili!

Re: E3S8 - Liloa
Time Keeper:
Capt. Kaanana turns from the radio dispatcher to speak to you. "We've got patrol cars reporting in, and some of the foot units, but we're still cut off..." Whatever else he was about to say is interrupted by the sudden shifting of the threads of probability!

Todd:
You snag Haikili by the (broad) waist; although he's groggy, his sumo-trained reflexes cause him to grab onto you in exactly the same fashion! You hit the parking lot with enough force to crack concrete--but you both manage to keep your footing. Until...

Everyone:
The ground lifts under you--under everyone in the entire city, in fact! The air itself clamps around you like a vice. It's instantaneous, but intense; you feel the impact not only on, but within your body! Objects in motion take the worst effects of the telekinetic shock-wave, but even stationary city structures are affected. Glass shatters, cinder-block walls crack; Every car alarm in Akamai City goes off at once! The Tinker's "expanded" vehicles, specifically vulnerable to high-intensity impact, all shatter into dust!

As the dust settles, the honking of a thousand car alarms almost drowns out the very faint sound of a distant loudspeaker. "Attention, citizens of Aumakua Island; Akamai City is now under martial law! Remain in your homes! Remain in your homes and you will not be harmed!"

The Liloa Police Station's blockhouse-style construction shows some cracks, and even the safety glass in the windows and doors is starred, but the building holds up. The more cheaply made residential structures nearby don't fare so well; windows are broken as far as the eye can see, and some of the substandard concrete buildings are starting to collapse--including the four-story apartment block across the street from the station!

Re: E3S8 - Liloa
Time Keeper:
Your sense of the time stream points relentlessly forward. The event that just happened is now beyond your reach--but its repercussions will be felt in the future!

The near-future is filled with a cloud of concrete dust and the screams of people fearing for their lives! The building across the street is crumbling!

Beyond that moment, lurking among the separate threads of potential futures you sense a presence...a figure...a person: In some timelines he is tall and well-formed, in others rail-thin. Always he wears indigo blue, but in some futures its accented with gold, in others white or crimson. The one consistent thing about his appearance is his smooth, almost featureless helmet. White as alabaster, it rises to a row of points above his brow, like a crown. He holds a globe in one closed fist--and in your vision, the world bursts into flame!

[OOC: That's the trouble with precognition; you never get visions of placid, happy futures. :)]

Todd:
Haikili looks to the North, in the direction of the loudspeaker voice. "I heard that announcement before! Right when all this started..." He gives you a manic grin. "Want to go see what it is?"

Just then, the shattered concrete walls of the apartment building next door give way, and a woman screams! As the facade falls to rubble, you see her--hanging on to the edge of the tilting fourth floor of the structure, sliding toward a deadly fall!

"Yeah, I am kinda curious - just a sec, but."

With that Todd springs into action, sprinting up the edge of the leaning building, snatching up the girl, and leaping sideways to safety.

He puts her down, gives her an awkward half-bow and a "have a nice day", and shuffles back to Haikili.

"Right. Lead on."

This is a oncer, so I can use a Determination if needed: Coord 6 + Roll -2 = 4.

Todd:
The woman is a little dazed, at first. Then she puts her hands on her hips and says "Nice day?!? Have a nice day? My apartment is missing a wall, and you want me to have a nice day?"

The other side of the building begins to lean and buckle. She looks back in alarm. "Two walls! Who's going to pay for this?"

Then Nereid's voice is in your head--which at least helps you ignore the woman you just rescued.

Haikili bends down and peers into your face. "You OK? You look a little... elsewhere."

Time Keeper:
You're still reeling a little from your vision when Nereid's telepathic words come to you. Captain Kaanana is talking at the same time. "We just made radio contact with the Mayor's personal detail--there's trouble at the Residence!"

Re: E3S8 - Liloa
Time keeper connects to nereid's mind  ~the mayors in trouble at his residence I'm heading over there now get the team over there as soon as I might need back up~

Turning to the captain " get the men together and start going out in groups to help where you can there are people out there frightened, trapped in buildings and possibly hurt. Make them believe we are here and taking back the city street by street if we have to. Get all the able bodied to help in the rescue effort..... Leave the mayors safety to me"

With that the master of time pulled imaginary threads of time, only he could see, together and wrapped them round his body. With the power of his mind alone he pulled them taught before letting them spring back propelling him at great speed towards the mayors home
