E3S4 - Off the coast of Ni'ihau - Angelfish, Ty'daal
Dawn is breaking over the Pacific as you arrive at the coordinates Sharkbaiter specified. Dr. Ishida is keeping the Kiyomi Maru some distance away from the exact location, with her passive sonars cranked to maximum amplification.

The seabed shallows here, rising toward Ka'ula Rock on the West and Ni'ihau Island itself to the East. Shoals of fish, manta rays, and bright green sea turtles dodge among the tall seaweed that carpets the bottom here.

Sharkbaiter swims in an expanding spiral, occasionally surfacing to breathe. : self : sense/find : negation-modifier : dolphin/people : He blows a stream of bubbles, as if in frustration. : we : UNT : solo/alone : frustration-modifier :

Ty'daal nods in understanding, "We will find them, noble one. Your actions saved them, the universe will reward that."

With that, Ty'daal swam towards the sea floor and began scouting through the area.

After a final check to her newly upgraded armor, Angelfish enters the water as well.

She swims a playful circle around Sharkbaiter, before returning to the "mission" and diving to join Ty'daal.

Ty'daal, Angelfish:
The seafloor here is covered with a lush growth of tall flat-leaved plants. Scavenger fish swarm around their roots in odd abundance. Swimming closer, you spot a few flashes of off-white among the green. They look like bones...

You realize that they're shark skeletons--a lot of them. Shark skeletons are mostly cartilage, and sharks don't have full rib cages--some barely have stubby ribs at all. That, and the jaws, make the remains easily identifiable.

Sharkbaiter nudges one of the tapering skulls. A broken shark-tooth is embedded in the thickest portion of the top, among a curving row of deep indentations. : shark : fight/kill : shark : he whistles softly.

Angelfish glances at the readout on her arm, and nods agreement to Sharkbaiter.

Sharks fighting sharks to the death, and in large numbers... not really typical behavior, not even for the most aggressive shark species...

She gestures to Ty'daal to get his attention, then points to the boneyard below, typing a quick message,

[NOT NORML  FOUND RITE PLACE  NOW FIND SORCERESS]

Ty'daal nods and accelerates, trying to see if there is a trail of bones he can follow to some origin point- perhaps a higher concentration of the remains that grows the closer to where the sorceress lives.

Re: E3S4 - Off the coast of Ni'ihau - Angelfish, Ty'daal
Ty'daal:
There's not a trail so much as there is a zone; a region of the seabed littered with shark skeletons, denser in the center, and with the bones becoming less common toward the edges. That center seems to be north of your current position.

Sharkbaiter swims alongside as you head in that direction. : self : bad/wrong : feel/sense : relational-modifier(?)/UNT : this :

Angelfish:
After translating for Sharkbaiter, your forearm readout blinks with data sent by Ishida-san. BAROMETER DROPPING FAST. STORM FRONT MOVING SOUTH TOWARD YOUR POSITION. NOAA WEATHER RADIO REPORTS NOTHING.

"Do not allow fear to gain control of your mind. Take heart, noble one, for you have Ty'daal at your side," the warrior spoke, increasing his speed and heading north.

Re: E3S4 - Off the coast of Ni'ihau - Angelfish, Ty'daal
Angelfish frowns at the readout on her arm.

Weird storms coming out of nowhere, right on top of the remains of a giant shark civil war... yeah, that can't be good...

Adjusting the volume, she taps out a quick message to her companion,

{WARRIOR  STORM  NOT NATRL  MAY B ILAND  KEEP WACH}

She closes the gap between herself and Ty'daal, pointing toward the surface and the north.

Note to self, get Ian and Ishida-san to work on a thought-based interface, ought to be able to adapt the T.U.N.A.

Re: E3S4 - Off the coast of Ni'ihau - Angelfish, Ty'daal
Ty'daal:
There's a strange chill in the water, and less sunlight is filtering down from the surface than before. What's worse, your normally-excellent sense of direction seems less certain than it was before... Sharkbaiter seems to be feeling the same effect; you can feel the powerful pulses of his echolocation sonar as he tries to keep his orientation.

[OOC: Test Awareness vs a Difficulty of 6.]

Angelfish:
The digital compass on your forearm display is scrolling continuously through 36o degrees, and the external temperature monitor has dropped four degrees in the last four minutes. The comm readout from the Kiyomi Maru shows CHK TELEM#######GNAL LOS###ADAR SHO#####ORM LOC###ZED & SEV####PLS RESP####

Angelfish frowns at the readout for a moment before switching off the speech function -
BRKNG UP  GET CLER  STY SAF  WILL STY BLOW STRM

Message sent, she switches back to speech to send a message to Ty'daal -

WARRIOR  STRM GETNG WORS   CMPS CRZY   BOAT GOING 2 SAFTY  WEE NEED 2 STY LOW  FND ILAND SOON

Re: E3S4 - Off the coast of Ni'ihau - Angelfish, Ty'daal
Ty'daal, Angelfish:
You're both disoriented by the storm, and if anything Sharkbaiter is feeling it worse. He keeps rolling in the water, checking behind himself then returning to his course. What's stranger is that surface storms don't generally affect the subsurface environment like this; the temperature drop alone is spectacularly odd. The amount of energy that must have been pulled out of the ocean to chill it that way is astonishing.

It's also getting darker; a lot less light is filtering down than before. Ahead of you, visible against the dark surface and darker sky above, you see a white streak. It looks like the wake of a boat; something moving really fast over the waves!
