E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Ty'daal:
It takes a while to absorb enough mist to re-form your armor. Fortunately, there's plenty of mist to absorb. It tastes of fresh water--truly unsullied water, like you haven't tasted on Earth before. It's as if the mist is made of water that was just created...

Time Keeper:
It's been a rough morning! Tiring doesn't begin to cover it. As you walk, though, mere physical tiredness begins to replace the temporal exhaustion you've felt since you manipulated time around the canoe. Gingerly, like testing a sore muscle, you touch the strands of fate...

[OOC: It's been a full scene, so your powers are beginning to return. Slowly...]

Angelfish:
This suit was not made for walking! Tempting as a breath of fresh air--well, any air--would be, you're not sure taking off your only armor would be a good idea. Even though you're moving toward higher ground, your comm system remains just as haphazard as before.

Everyone:
Trailing Gold Tusk, you head through the thinning mist as it condenses around Ty'daal. The terrain changes abruptly, like crossing a border; now the soil is dryer, the plants more sparse. Bushy oregano plants, stunted olive trees, and clumps of green-brown grasses spread to either side as the mist clears.

You pass several marble columns, broken and fallen, and an armless statue of a woman in a flowing gown. Honua frowns at the statue, and the marble blackens and cracks as heat glows from within it. In seconds, the statue shatters! "That's what the sorceress deserves. And that's what she'll get!" He says, seething with anger.

[OOC: Feel free to converse or plan. This may be your last opportunity... :) ]

"Indeed, my fellow warrior. Her cowardly ways and magic will be no match for this band of champions. Her reign ended will return things to how they should be and spare the insult the native people take from being transformed into animals. A seemingly never ending march of greed and evil plagues this world- savage..." Ty'daal speaks as he steps over a fallen tree branch inwardly amazed at the 'feel' of this water. So much he had come across on Earth was filled with chemicals or waste, even the water the surface dwellers drank was tainted with purification agents.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Angelfish trudges along behind her companions - the Mark VIII wasn't designed for walking.

Ben dropped back to walk beside her, speaking quietly,
quote:
"Ok now we have a heavy hitter on our side what do you suggest we do now....unfortunately my powers still seem to have been nullified so I have no way of looking into the future"

She takes a few more steps, watching as Ty'daal and Honua converse, and thinking.  She turns the volume on her comm to low, and leans close to Ben, typing slowly and carefully,

HE SEEMS 2 TRUST U  STAY CLOS 2 HIM  KEEP TELLNG HIM THAT WE R PROTETNG ISLAND  MAK HIM REMEMBR ANCESTORS N CHILDRN  WE WANT SAM TINGS  GT RID OF WICH  SAVE ALL THIS

She watches Ben - no, Time Keeper - closely.  The TXT to Voice system is a vast improvement over hand signals, but it's still limiting, and she knows that she's - they - are putting a lot on Time Keeper's shoulders.

Ben looked over at angel and nodded "I'll do my best I promise my powers are still outside my grip. Using them to stop me being changed suit me off from them. I'm not sure when or if they will return but my grandfather taught me to use what you have at hand."

He looked over at the god that walked mith them " my grandfather was an elder, he was also a watch maker, I've used his knowledge of time to help me when I had powers now I need to use the knowledge he gave me about our ancestors to try and control a god" he chuckled "now that sounded a whole hell of a lot simplier when I said it in my head "

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
As you climb through the now-Mediterranean terrain, the shifting mists allow you glimpses of other Classical structures and statuary--most in varied states of disrepair.

Gradually, you notice the sparse and scattered olive trees have become well-tended groves on either side of the path, and the mists part ahead of you to reveal neatly laid-out formal gardens. Porcelain urns spill forth frothy flowering herbs, surrounded by geometric plots of sage, lavender, and less-identifiable plants. A dozen or more boars root along the neat paths--it's almost as if they're weeding the plots. In the center of the gardens is a white marble palace just a little larger than the Parthenon, and considerably more ornate.

A lovely contralto voice comes from everywhere at once. "Welcome, honored guests! Your journey to this place has been difficult, I know--but that proves your worthiness to approach the Sorceress Supreme!"

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Without waiting for any words from the other heroes, Ty'daal marched towards the palace determined to bring the witch down. These wretched humans had not only been enslaved, but transformed into lower beasts against their will. These people and kin of the Time Keeper deserved more even if, he doubted, they would not do the same for him or his people. Still, he was better than the humans and would prove once again he was superior in both his prowess and his morals.

Suddenly, standing between the pillars of the palace entrance is a woman! She has long dark hair, and is dressed in a dark green chiton edged with gold thread and pearls. In one hand she neglegently holds a gold kylix-cup. In the other she holds a short wooden wand. "My, aren't you a fine specimen!" She exclaims--and again the sound of her voice comes from everywhere at once.

Honua steps forward also, teeth bared and flame-hair rippling. The Sorceress Supreme smiles. "Ah, it's like the old days, seeing Oceanus and Prometheus together. But have a care, mortals, for you are not Titans after all!" Her tone is still light, but that last phrase didn't sound like mere banter.

"Witch!" Ty'daal bellowed, "you will return these humans to their original form and set them free. You have no right to treat others as your slaves or playthings. I have no doubt the rest of this world's civilization would have not the capability to see you brought to justice, but we as their champions do. Comply, and this may end now with no further conflict."

Ben stepped forward "lady sorceress we seem to cross paths again. I wonder what lies and misdirection you intend to riddle me this time. Why are you doing this? Someone of your considerable power need not punish simple humans with your transformation spells, they are nothing to you and thus not worthy of your attention." He was gambling on her arrogance to let slip something he might  be able to use against her

"Punish them? Of course I punish them--they are trespassers upon my island!" She gestures at the boars weeding her garden with their tusks. "But is that punishment so terrible? I could do far worse..." Her eyes are dark chasms. "The others I have set as guards, to drive away future trespassers. So you see, I really am doing my best to keep mere mortals off my island." She lowers her lids and sips from her wine-bowl with a faint smile, as if daring you to call her a liar.

"Your island? This is my island! Pele's island!" Honua roars. You all feel the sudden surge of heat, coming off him like a wave.

If it kicked off he was sure these two powerful beings would literally tear the island apart.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Time Keeper:
All the futures where Honua shoots first turn into conflagrations of fire and destruction! That much seems clear, but the timelines here are strangely twisted. Circe's palace seems to be a nexus point. Now that your powers are returning, you can sense the shifting, overlapping nature of Kuaihelani and Aeaea--and other places.

Near the palace, the island seems stable enough, but further out the bands of mist are shifting borders between lush tropical foliage, rocky Mediterranean terrain, chilly moors, and deep green forests. Multiple different "sacred islands" exist simultaneously across all the time streams--but here and now, close to the palace, Mediterranean Aeaea seems to be winning.

Everyone:
"You roar and bluster, but my powers here are supreme!" The sorceress raises her wand, and chants "Αδειάστε βρυχηθμό - όπως ένα ανιαρός!
υπάκουο λιοντάρι, για πάντα περισσότερο!"
As flames burst from Honua he suddenly changes; his human shape is replaced by that of a lion with a shaggy red-orange mane! The lion lays down and begins grooming it's paws.

"Much better!" She turns her attention to the rest of you. "I have little tolerance for threats; but soon enough there will be no threats that matter, and this island will be wholly mine."  She gestures expansively toward her palace. "Do come inside, where we can speak without such... distractions." she says, her voice full of false charm.

Your punch sends Circe staggering backward several steps, and she lets go of her wine-krater, allowing it to clatter to the floor. She looks up, wiping a trickle of blood from her lips on the back of her free hand. "Upstart merman! You dare to strike me? In my own house?!?" The tip of her wand begins to glow, as lavender energy seeps from the grain of the wood. "I have learned far deadlier magics than you have yet seen..."

Pulling on the strands of time TimeKeeper watched as time redound itself. He saw the punch from his friend pull back in slow motion and the events that had moments before taken place reverse itself to the point just before Ty'daal lifted his arm.

With mere seconds to play with he stopped time and quickly stepped between the witch and his friend, he pulled the time stream towards him to try and take some of the impact of the punch he as about to take but also to prepare to wrap the witch in a time bubble once the punch had propelled him into her.

Ty'daal raised a clenched fist...

And swifter than thought, Time Keeper interposes himself between the Warrior and the Witch! The powerful blow sends the Master of Time reeling - directly into Circe - and they tumble to the ground together.

Angelfish has the strangest sensation that time is simultaneously moving too fast and too slow - a sensation she is coming to recognize as a sign the Time Keeper has been influencing the natural flow of time.

Circe struggles in Time Keeper's grip, the wand clutched in her fist glowing...

quote:
My magics are far deadlier than you have yet seen...

And Angelfish knows what must have happened... One of them was going to die and Time Keeper has stopped it, only to place his own life in jeopardy!

Not on my watch... Witch!

She can't shoot - Time Keeper would be caught in the blast as well - so she falls back on simpler, cruder fighting methods...

(OOC: 22:47, Today: Angelfish rolled 2,1 using d6,d6. Kickoff!
-1 + 6 (coordination)+ 2 (acrobatics)= +7)

Eyes blazing with fury, using her other hand the sorceress straight-arms Time Keeper, shoving him away. "Unhand me, mortal! Keep your distance!"

Time Keeper:

Ty'daal quickly assessed the situation, then leapt at the transformed lion grappling it around the neck and under the shoulder to wrestle it away from the wand it was going for.

As he did so, he snarled at Time Keeper, "Next time stay out of my way human. You cost me my triumph over the witch and yourself a bruising," not knowing Time Keeper had been saving him from a timeline that no longer existed.

I was waiting for someone else to go first this round, but I'll go ahead and move the scene along :)

Angelfish moves around the circle carefully, trying to keep her eyes on both pair simultaneously...   As long as Ty'daal keeps his grip on the lion...

Gauging her moment carefully, she darts into the densely flowered bed and snatches the wand from beneath the lions nose.  Certainly wouldn't try that trick without the suit on...

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Circe draws herself up in a regal--or perhaps divine--manner, and sweeps inside the palace entrance, presuming that you will all follow.

The inner chamber of the palace is like an ancient Grecian temple; mosaic floors, tall marble columns, and bronze braziers hanging by chains from the ceiling providing light. Furnishings that would not be out of place in ancient Mycenae are placed in pleasing groups across the vast floor, and elegant statuary line the walls. The two largest statues flank the open doorway opposite the entrance, one representing Poseidon, the other the Titan Cronos. Multicolored light glows from the room beyond, shifting and changing as you watch.

Circe claps her hands together twice, and a small menagerie of animals--pigs, birds, a goat, and a monkey nudge a table with a pitcher and several wine-kraters into the center of a group of divans. The monkey, crouched on the table, pours wine. "Drink! So long as you hold my wand, I can cast no new magics; I am, it seems, your prisoner." Both anger and disgust are evident in her tone. "The beasts you see here were once trespassers upon Aeaea; now they are my servants, until such time as I find them sufficiently penitent."

"Enslaving?" The incredulity in Circe's voice is clear. "They were already enslaved to their own passions--I merely gave those passions... visible form." She sips wine from her krater. "The sharks that serve to defend my island now; they were predators before--hunting fish to fill their bellies, competing with one another to see how much of the sea's bounty they could take. Men like that get what they deserve!" She gestures toward the goat that helped to push the table into position. So she stands, and she listens, and she keeps a very close eye on Circe's "servants" - the witch may not be able to cast new spells without her wand, but that didn't rule out clever little paws snatching the prize back...

quote:
"Those are your demands? 'Freedom', as you call it, for my servants? That, and nothing else?" "And if I acquiesce to your demands, will you oppose me still? My plans to bring Aeaea into supremacy here are well underway--If I do as you wish, would you aid me in bringing them to fruition?"

NO  WE DO NOT AID U

Angelfish holds the wand cautiously, protecting it from Circe's "servants", and types with great care.  It will not do to be misunderstood...

U DO NOT BELONG HERE

NOT N THIS TIME

NOT N THIS PLACE

RETURN YR SLAVES 2 THERE 4MER SELVES UNHARMED

LEAVE THIS PLACE

RETURN 2 YR OWN TIME AND PLACE

She watches the witch intently.  For the first time, her own "voice" sounds loud in her ears...

"This island is my place, and this era is my time as much as it is yours; I have lived for many centuries. Through all that time, my powers have grown--and my plans alongside them. If you decline to support those plans, it is sufficient that you do not oppose them." Circe puts down the heavy gold krater, and extends a hand toward Angelfish. "Now, if I am to reverse my spells and restore these cretins to their natural forms, I will need my wand back..."

"you honestly think we will give you your source of power back just like that, on your say so?" replied TimeKeeper.

"I have to admit you and I are alike in one way .... we are both displaced people, people out of time, but that's were the likeness ends. Where you only wish to feather your own nest and make people bow down to you I am trying to make a difference, make people's lives safer."

" I wonder what would happen if we just destroyed your little stick? would your power be undone? would your spells be broken?"

All the while Time Keeper talked he let his mind enter the time stream to review the possible out comes of either destroying the wand or giving it back to the witch

Time Keeper:
So many futures, all hingeing upon the decisions made in the next few seconds...
The one where Angelfish snaps the wand in frustration ends in whiteout as four thousand years of accumulated magical energy wipe Aeaea from the ocean!
The one where Ty'daal angrily grabs the wand and breaks it is but a slight improvement; in his last seconds he summons his water-shield, deadening the blast infinitessimally--but the floating island is still destroyed.
The futures where Angelfish hands back the wand have more variety, at least; in most, the animals in the room and in the gardens outside return to their human forms--knights in medieval armor, fishermen wearing cut-off shorts, and Honua of course, flame-haired and angry.
But then chaos ensues as Honua, the knights, and Circe set upon one another, with the three of you caught in the middle!

One thing is clear in your vision: The shimmering multicolored light spilling from the inner chamber of Circe's palace is as great a nexus of change as any decision made by anyone here. And somehow, the nature of the floating island's future will be determined by that knot of energy...

Time Keeper looked into the light and knew that if he could disrupt the time stream Knot it would at least strand the island in one time and she couldn't inflict her misery on other times.

Pulling the time streams around him he sped up the time in his immediate facility and raced towards the arch and the time knot.

Time Keeper:
Getting to the nexus in the next room is easy; hitting it at speed, on the other hand...
Past the huge statues lies the central chamber of Circe's temple/palace. High overhead, a golden dome reflects the rainbow light coming from the nexus. Within a circle of spiral-carved pillars is... a spiral of fractal rainbows... a whirlpool of temporal and magical energy... a place and time where the meanings of those two words shift and change... As you enter the nexus, you see the pillars containing it flicker rapidly through several forms; marble Grecian, grey-stone Medieval, wood carved in native Hawai'ian design, and many others. Like the pillars, you feel yourself, your timeline, beginning to flicker!!

[OOC: Test Time Control vs a Difficulty of 10!]

Ty'daal, Angelfish:
As Time Keeper races into the next room, toward the shifting colored light, Circe laughs--a sound like brittle glass breaking. "And so the trap is sprung!" she says with evident glee. "With the power rushing in through his broken timeline, the nexus will be strong enough to make Aeaea supreme upon this island! Kuaihelani and Avalon will vanish like dreams, and the Isle of the West will be mine alone!" Her voice drops to a contralto purr. "And that is only the beginning..."

Watching the swirling time streams the master of time looked into the many past, present and future realities and was amazed. He put his hand out and felt billions of peoples lives run through his hands.

My god, he realised, no one should be able to control this much power, no one person should be able to influence the lives other others on such an gigantic scale. He needed to put a stop to this.

His eyes were drawn to the time stream that was his own and followed it back to the knot in it that was the day he woke with his powers. He grasped it with his mind and shouted into the serving energy

"Grandfather I know you did things that you thought were right. I know you sacrificed your life to save mine I feel that you might have done it to for this very moment to happen. I FORGIVE YOU, AND I CALL UPON YOU AND ALL THE ELDERS AND ANCESTORS OF MY BLOOD AND MY PEOPLE. I ASK FOR YOUR HELP NOW IN PUTTING RIGHT THAT WHAT WAS MADE WRONG. I ASK FOR YOUR AID IN DEFENDING OUR LOANDS, OUR PEOPLE AND OUR TIME."

He felt power race though him he was not the master of time he was time itself. He took a step in to the stream and let it possess him join with him be him

" I CALL ON MY FOR FATHERS AID ME NOW!!!" and he closed his eyes and became time

The alien warrior stands to the side, his grip on the lion unbroken as he watches the tense dialogue between the mysterious Time Keeper- a man he barely knew- and the witch Circe. The immense power in the room was palpable and he knew instinctively that the confrontation between the two of them was not one he could influence at the moment. Then Time Keeper disappeared into the swirling energies and his gaze fell on the witch.

"Foul woman, you offered negotiations, and now reveal yourself as a true black-hearted villain. I will see you ended!"

With that he flung the transformed lion to the side and leapt at Circe, coming down with his fists clinched together to smash her to the ground.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Angelfish:
The multi-colored vortex swirling in the center of the room tugs at you like the most powerful rip-tide you've ever felt--but the mass of the MK VII suit keeps you rooted to the floor. Unlike Time Keeper, who is suspended in the center of the nexus. The pillars surrounding the perimeter of the power storm keep flickering from one form to another--and Time Keeper's silhouette is flickering along with them, phasing from his normal costumed appearance to a broken, shattered form and back again! He's not getting out of there without help.

Time Keeper:
The nexus is pulling energy from you--massive quantities of temporal energy, more than any one individual could contain... and as it does so, you begin to remember things that never happened: You remember the impact of the car. You remember dying.  You also remember Mea A`a Kaʻaukai's quiet voice, when you met him on the big island. "If you cast your powers back through the time stream, you will not find these days. That does not mean that they have always been untrue."

There's another voice, faint and strained, backed by a sound like lightning. You recognize it as your grandfathers, chanting in a version of your native language so old that you can't make out the words.

Your timeline is broken; something your Grandfather did changed it--changed you. Circe's magic is allowing the nexus to draw energy from the other past, using your powers as a conduit!

[OOC: The natural power of the nexus, aided by Circe's spell, makes the drain very hard to resist. The good news is, the effect is very specific and therefore slow: Every page you miss the roll, you only lose 1 rank of Time Control to the nexus. You're currently at 6. If you succeed in the roll, you break free with whatever ranks you have left at that point. The rest will return after 10 pages, but in the mean time the nexus will be using them...]

Ty'daal:
For a woman obviously on her last legs, Circe seems oddly... content. Even smug. "I knew that I could draw your friend here. Transform enough sailors into sharks, and he would eventually hear of it--and come to investigate. I've observed him for some time; he's incapable of minding his own business." She rises to her feet,  graceful despite her injuries. "I didn't expect him to bring such allies. But your presence matters little; the knot his ancestor tied in destiny's skein will still serve my ends!"

Time keeper bent his mind to focus on the present, at least in the present he wouldn't loose himself in the past or future but it was hard and the strain was starting to tell, he started to feel faint. Not in the passing out type of faint but the corporal type, he felt himself fading away.

Just then movement caught his eye and there near him was anglefish. His heart was lifted. He added her image to his focus as a second anchor, a solid rock in a storm.

He saw the witches wand in her hand and he reached out for it. Through gritted teeth" angle give me that cursed thing I will try to use it to break the nexus. If I fail then at least her powers will be gone" with that he reached out a fading hand towards his friend and team mate

Time Keeper:
The wand has thousands of years of history. The near end of that is a blur of transformation spells as Circe turns men into animals, and scrying as she magically spies on you--and on Nereid! The far end is clearer; the images have a mythic quality. Circe dueling with a bare-chested war god, summoning a waterspout/sprite to throw against a coastal city that displeased her, summoning Titans to her command...

The wand you're holding is a powerful artifact, with four millennia of spells embedded inside--the operation of which is entirely unknown to you, beyond what you've seen Circe do with it. Your specialties are mechanics and electronics. Its specialties are magic, the occult, and (if Circe's workings are any indication) the language of ancient Greece.

Ty'daal moves to stand between Circe and the entrance to the chamber that Angelfish had disappeared into with Time Keeper. He leveled an even, hard stare at the witch and spoke, "You will fail in the end. You are overconfident in your immortal age and think the world is owed to you. You lack the basic ability to make friends and allies and merely seek to enslave others to your will. With your powers you could have been a force for good but you use them instead in mundane power fantasies of being some two-bit tyrant.

You should have been a legendary hero of this world, never forgotten in history, songs sung in your name, honored by parents naming their daughters after you. Instead, you will only ever be a name, a legacy that is cursed by those you hurt. Then in time, forgotten, you will fade into the past. I pity you."

The warrior falls silent prepared to fight if Circe advanced towards the chamber, blocking her from it, and giving the others a chance to win the day.

Time Keeper:
The temporal energy rushing through you from the broken timestream is tearing you apart, feeding into the vortex and making it stronger even as your own existence becomes ever more tenuous. The vortex spins faster and faster, spreading outward, sending the energy it is drawing through you into the mystical island, reinforcing Circe's spell over Kuaihelani and transforming it permanently into Aeaea.

You focus on the wand, willing yourself to remember your family, your grandfather, your ancestors... Thanks to your grandfather, you have two pasts. But only one fuels the vortex. Using the last of your will, you force the broken timeline away. Circe's wand grows hot in your hands, pouring purple radiance into the void at the core of the vortex--the void that your grandfather made when he changed the past and saved your life.

In the outer chamber, Circe tries to dart past Ty'daal--but the alien warrior is waiting for that. "NO! He cannot attune to the wand..."

She's right; as a mortal you can't--but your powers, as the vortex absorbs them, can. The wand is burning, flecks of ash from it's charred surface tearing away in the hurricane wind. As they strike the dark core of the vortex, the explosion is spectacular!

Angelfish:
You fly outward, cracking through one of the pillars and smashing against the wall! Time Keeper was flung the other way, between the huge statues. The vortex consumes Circe's wand, and the energy from that drives upward, shattering the domed roof of the chamber!

Ty'daal:
With flesh and water you block the sorceress' way--and stand against the blast that hits you from behind when Time Keeper breaks the vortex!

[OOC: Defend against a Difficulty of 10 to keep your feet as the energy wave crashes around you!]

Honua is among them, looking more angry than disoriented, his hair a halo of fire.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
After the blast wave subsides, Ty'daal releases the pillar and pats it appreciatively before hearing the voice behind him and turning to face the knights.

"You are welcome, by the way human. You would still be a cowering beast if it were not for my allies. And what is 'varlet'? Is it an honored warrior? For that is whom you speak to," the alien warrior said with a sneer, staring down the knight who spoke to him.

(I would say he is not sure, the knight's tone was irritating, but the word I'd imagine is obscure enough for him to not be sure enough to engage him in honorable one-on-one combat ;).)

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
The force of the expolsion throw Time Keeper across the room and hard up against the wall.

He grunted in pain upon impact and lay there dazed for a moment. As the world slowly came back into focus the master of time pulled himself up to a sitting position, he took a breath and it hurt, probably a few broken ribs, he thought to himself.

Then with a groan he pulled himself up onto his feet using the wall for support, his head span with the effort and he had to lean there for a moment to allow his vision to right itself.

Staggering out into the palace proper he saw the knights pull their swords on his team mate and demand the witch

WAIT !!!” he commanded then bent over and retched all over the polished floor.

Taking a few more steps in that position he waved his hand at them coughing up the remainder of his stomach contents before straightening up and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand

Wait…. Put your swords down now, if it hadn’t been for us you would still be farm animals …. The woman is MY prisoner and as the victor of the battle I claim her as such.”

He walked a little steadier towards them as he felt the last of his essence re-join his body from the surrounding time line “I am  Time Keeper, Master of Time and this witch tried to corrupt time for her own ends that gives me the right to punish her not you.”

so I say again put down your swords because to be honest I AM NOT IN THE MOOD TO PISS ABOUT WITH YOU LOT AT THE MOMENT”

Time keeper wan't in the mood to be accosted by a medieval knight especially after he'd just had his very essence ripped apart.

He reached into the time stream around the metal clad figures and froze it to give him time to gather his thought, check his team mates were ok and to put the witch in shackles.

Time Keeper:
[OOC: Remember that your Time Control power hasn't fully recovered from being absorbed by the vortex yet. Still, a total of 5 gives you enough to catch Circe before she can hide.]
Time slows for you as you burst into motion. Lancelot's threats become a low rumble of sound, and the other knights seem like they're barely moving. The only thing you can find to bind Circe with is a loop of bronze chain that once held up the elaborate chandelier--now crashed into the table with the wine service. It may not hold her long, but it will have to do. Looping it around her wrists you pull her into the center of the room, where she won't be able to hide so easily.

Angelfish:
One second, Circe had been curled at Ty'daal's feet, shielded from the worst of the blast. The next second, you spot her yards away, her wrists twisted in bronze chains held by Time Keeper!

Ty'daal:
Lancelot's sword-point veers back toward you as he realizes that Time Keeper whisked the witch away. "More sorcery! In the name of Arthur, my liege, I thank you for your valiant efforts in capturing the witch Circe, and freeing us from her spell." His words have a gritty quality, as if he's grinding his teeth in anger as he speaks. "But the justice of the High King demands that she face trial for her crimes against the isle of Avalon. Hand her over or you, too, will face the King's justice!" Behind him, several of the other knights begin to draw their swords.

Everyone:
Just then, Honua steps into the rubble-strewn foyer, hair on fire and lava dripping off of him like sweat and sizzling into the marble tiles. His voice is like the roar of a volcano. "Fight over who gets to take her back for 'trial' all you want: Whoever wins can take the body home--after I kill her!"

His hands come together and a blast of flame erupts from his cupped palms!

[OOC: He's firing at Circe, but he's not particular about his aim; some of that fire will hit Time Keeper too. Time Keeper, defend against a Difficulty of 5.]

Lancelot is fast on his feet for a human cased in metal; he springs backward--you find yourself facing a full six drawn swords as his fellow knights form up beside him! "Lay hands upon a knight of the Round Table at your peril, sirrah! Upon this Isle of Avalon, we are the instruments of the king's justice!"

Angelfish
Lancelot and the other knights acknowledge the somewhat tinny mechanical voice of your voder, but their blades don't waver. Honua advances, sneering. "Same side? They're just more haole invading Pele's sacred island!" He flings an accusing finger toward Circe, sending drops of lava flying. "Her meddling with the magic here made them stronger too!" His hair and eyebrows are made of fire, but now the very pupils of his eyes turn red as his anger builds. The cords of muscle around his neck are tight and his hands ball into fists. "Now you will all burn!" The air around Honua is becoming incandescent as his power builds.

[OOC: If you want to back your words with dice, test Willpower vs a Difficulty of 7 to try and put a "Hesitation" Quality on him.]

Time Keeper:
Circe struggles within the loops of bronze chain, maneuvering to put you between herself and Honua. You notice that the "chosen of Pele" is standing in a pool of lava, the heat radiating from his body has melted the stone tiles--and he's getting hotter by the second...

The future is clear; in two seconds, Honua will bring the heels of his hands together before his chest, open his fingers in the shape of a flower, and a blast of incandescent lava will roar forth obliterating most of the building! Anyone in it when that happens will have to survive the two-thousand degree temperature and the seven-hundred mph pyroclastic blast-wave.

Often, your sense of the future is like a widening fan of strands where the possibilities multiply without end. That isn't what you sense now; in this instance, the future possibilities narrow toward a singularity.

Everyone:
You head for the ocean at full speed--with a rag-tag group of confused fishermen and angry Medieval knights following behind you!

Time Keeper:
Circe, unceremoniously thrown over your shoulder, is no light-weight; and now that she's unconscious, the control she's exerted over the competing natures of the floating island is fading.

Everyone:
The bands of mist that criss-cross the island are writhing and shifting, displaying alternative versions of the island's reality as they drift. One moment, the dry and rocky Aeaea predominates, then an instant later the mist will part to reveal the same terrain covered in the lush vegetation of Kuaihelani, or the deep forests of Avalon!

It makes navigation difficult, but downhill must be the path to the ocean... Behind you, the high ground erupts; Honua, chosen scion of the volcano goddess, is angry--and loose!

Angelfish:
Through the shifting vegetation, you catch sight of the glint of the ocean--and the welcome sight of the narrow black triangle that is the Kiyomi Maru!

Everyone:
As you reach the beach, red-hot rocks begin falling from the sky, thrown upward by Honua's explosive break-out! The group of men following you are in a panic, and beginning to scatter; if they can't find shelter, they'll be badly burned!

As you instructed, the refugees head for the beached vessels. They're sailors (most of them, anyway), they pick the closest thing to a seaworthy boat, and begin pushing it off the beach.

The Kiyomi Maru is getting closer to shore; close enough that you can see Ishida-san through the slanting cockpit windscreen.

Honua bursts through the trees at the edge of the beach, setting them on fire as he passes. His footsteps turn the sand into sizzling glass as he charges toward the three of you! The sudden flare of light and heat from Honua's lava catches Angelfish off guard as she shepherds the "refuges" down the beach. She turns back inland just in time to see Time Keeper surf up to Honua and punch him!

Oh, Kai is so gonna regret missing that!

As Time Keeper moves back from the fray, Angelfish takes cautious aim...

Gotta get this juuuust right...  drop that hothead into a hole without killing him or TK!

...and fires into the sand below Honua's feet!

(OOC:23:44, Today: Angelfish rolled 1,3 using d6,d6.  "And the ground opens up!".

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Ty'daal:
A jagged crest of obsidian forms as your wave of seawater smashes into Honua's lava! Equal and opposite forces counteracting one another in a spectacular show of elemental force.

[OOC: Your defense was so perfect, no one else has to defend; you blocked the whole flow.]

Time Keeper:
As you run/surf up Ty'daal's wave, you narrowly avoid the obsidian spikes and jackhammer your fists into Honua's torso, driving the air from his lungs...

Angelfish:
...just as your volley of missiles slam into the ground at Honua's feet! The explosion sends sand and shards of razor-sharp obsidian in all directions, and Honua drops into the crater you've created...

Time Keeper:
...and you fall into it on top of him!

[OOC: Honua and Time Keeper now have a The Ground Opened Up Quality. No free tags though; anyone who wants to take advantage of Honua's position has to pay 1 Determination to activate the Quality. Time Keeper can spend 1 Determination to remove the Quality, or take an action to climb out of the hole. Time Keeper also suffers 3 Stamina damage due Honua's shimmering heat aura.]

Everyone:
Meanwhile, the refugees have got their semi-seaworthy vessel off the beach--but the sails are in tatters; they have no way to make headway toward the Kiyomi Maru!

Honua, enraged, is shedding so much heat that he's melting the sand in the bottom of the crater into slag. Waist deep in the glowing, sticky stuff, he tries to backhand Time Keeper!

Time Keeper:
[OOC: Test Prowess vs his Prowess of 6. His white-hot hand does 6 Stamina on a hit.]

[OOC: Time Keeper defends, then anyone can go in any order!]

Honua and time Keeper tumble into the crater that Angelfish's blast has opened.  As she watches, Time Keeper nimbly dodges and punches.

Gotta get that hothead cooled off!

Of course!!!

Turning toward Ty'daal, she types quickly,  WARRIOR  MOR WATR   She points to Honua, hoping that the Last Warrior will understand and throw cold seawater on the molten sand...

Seeing the torrent of water created by his team mate heading towards him and the sun god TimeKeepers slowed down time until he was able to walk through the water once on the other side he sped the time up to such a rate that it hit the sun god like a locomotive at full tilt.

OOC:14:36, Today: Time Keeper rolled 0 using 2d6-7.  Time Control (7) spend a determination activate master of time and use aspect torrent of water.

Everyone:
Time Keeper moves at lightning speed, dodging through the salty wave, then directing it at amplified velocity directly into Honua! The impact is like being hit by a freight train--the obsidian chunks around Honua's legs are torn from the surrounding sand as he flies backward, slamming into the inland side of Angelfish's crater. Drenched with seawater, his flames are quenched. Even the fire flickering through his hair goes out. With a groan, he loses consciousness, half buried in sodden sand.

[OOC: You're out of combat at this point. Congratulations! You've defeated two dangerous foes, rescued a bunch of missing sailors and fishermen, and returned the sacred island Kuaihelani to it's natural form. Well done!]

Time Keeper:
You had been carrying the unconscious Circe. When you went after Honua, you left her on the beach. She's still there; what do you intend to do with her?

Ty'daal:
Now that Honua is unconscious, you can keep him from re-igniting by keeping him drenched. What do you intend to do with him?

Angelfish:
The rescued sailors have made their way out to the Kiyomi Maru--but their floating wreck isn't seaworthy enough to get back to Hawai'i proper, and there's not room for them all aboard Ishida-san's ocean-going hot-rod. What do you intend to do with them?

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Time Keeper looked down at the tied up witch and thought for a moment. An idea formed in his head, he couldn't permanently banish her but he had an idea how to imprison her for the time being.

Pulling her to her feet he let his thoughts pull in the time stream round them. Time slowed for all but him until they were so far out of his time line that the real world was just a silhouette around them. Over laid onto this frozen background was a spiders web of blue and red lines joining, parting and crossing each other.

He dropped the witch to her knees and looked round " time is a wonderful beautiful thing" he said half to himself " and we each have such a short amount of it to spend before it ends. Those blue lines, they are people starting out on their journey through life, the red ones are lives coming to an end"

something caught his eye and he smiled sadly "look there a red line just blinked out and there at the same moment a blue one came into being, a life ended and one beginning.... kind of makes you wonder about reincarnation doesn't it" after a moment more of silence Time keeper turns with a sigh.

" And you wanted to manipulate this and corrupt it. Well I will not allow that. I cannot destroy you but I can contain you until I find away to remove your powers for all eternity." with that he pulled her to her feet and turned her round behind them was a never ending expanse of blackness

"that is the time void nothing but those souls that had their time taken away from them live in there. They are unhappy people and want retribution on the ones that ended their lives prematurely." he gave a quiet chuckle " I thought it  fitting that they are the ones that will be your jailers for the time being"

With that he called allied out to them and they answered, sickly looking orange threads reached out of the blackness and wrapped themselves around the witch " meet your new companions witch" he said in a low menacing voice " these are the ones you personally killed and they want to keep you company"

With that he used all his powers of time and space to bind the withering mass of time streams together in chains far stronger than iron and commanded them to take her and guard her until he called for them to return her.

Time Keeper:
[OOC: You've successfully created the Chains of Time Quality with a free invoke, and spent the invoke to Stunt the Suspension Extra for your Time Control power. Whew!]

The orange strands of temporal flux coil around Circe, binding her from throat to ankles, squeezing tightly as she groggily recognizes the true nature of your power. "Eternity is a long time, and your destiny unravels apace." Her voice is faint but clear. "Even this will not endure forever. Await my return, mortal."

Everyone:
Time Keeper lifts Circe into his arms, then begins to move faster and faster. Their forms blurred--and the beach nearby seems to shift as well. You can hear his voice, his words a speeding blur of sound, almost incomprehensible and high-pitched. The spinning blur pulls everything together, as Time Keeper and Circe dwindle to a point, and the world around them seems to pull inward, toward the vanishing point where the two of them once were!

Suddenly, the world springs back to its un-distorted appearance--and Time Keeper is alone on the beach, collapsing to his knees in slow motion. "...w....a....n....t......t....o.....k...e...e..p....y..o..u...c..o..m.p.a.n.y."

Circe is gone!

Ty'daal summons a flood of water to surround Honua to keep him drenched and powered down. Then he reaches down and gently shakes his shoulder until he awakened. Extending his hand down to help the fellow warrior up he spoke, "Before your rage returns, know that the witch has been trapped in time itself. No matter what you do, your powers will not bring her back. She is imprisoned and will serve a sentence in accordance to her crimes against you and others.

I hope you can see your way to realizing your anger was driving you to hurt innocent people and we, your allies, who fought and subdued the witch. We can fight again, for I am more than equal to the task, or we can go our seperate paths for the time being. I hope that is as future allies, if not friends, for I see in you a warrior's spirit like myself

Honua wipes water from his eyes, and clasping your wrist levers himself to his feet. "Kuaihelani is itself again. Good." He looks around, taking note of Angelfish, the sailors, and Time Keeper sunk to his knees on the sand. "All who are kānaka maoli are welcome here. You have served Pele well, but you and she" he gestures at Angelfish "must go now; you trespass on sacred land."

He crosses his forearms over his chest, and looks at Time Keeper. "Maybe he knows our future. But I think we will fight together again; whether side-by-side or fist-against-fist, I couldn't say."

She motions to her companions and directs their attention to the refugees struggling in the surf

She heads for the beach again, hoping that the three of them can find a way to get the fishermen back home.

Ty'daal leaps into the water swimming out towards the struggling vessel. Concentrating, he attempts to send a thin, dense covering of water to surround the hull where it makes contact with the water and keep it afloat.

Time Keeper, Ty'daal:
Your combined efforts allow the foundering wreck to keep up with the Kiyomi Maru all the way back to Ni'ihau, and safety! The families of the fishermen welcome them home with open arms--and no small degree of surprise. It's fortunate that Ni'ihau is so apart from "modern" Hawai'i... no death certificates had been filed, for example, so there are few legal ramifications to the men's sudden return from being "lost at sea".

Everyone:
