Ty'daal:
Your hammer-fist drives Circe to the floor, blood gushing from a split lip! She looks up at you, anger in her eyes, and wipes blood from her mouth on the back of one hand. "Elemental! Even your fury cannot 'end' an immortal daughter of Olympus--but if it is an ending you want, look to your friend; his time is running out!"

Time Keeper:
Memories rush through you; memories of your grandfather, memories of a dark night and tires squealing on a rain-slick street... The memories rush through you, and rush into the nexus--which surges with power! The strands of time swirl around you, as clear and precise as you have ever sensed them; but they are a web of time, snaring you in their midst. You are becoming time itself, but in the process, your own timeline is being absorbed!

[OOC: Test Time Control vs Power Theft Difficulty 10.]

Angelfish:
After several hours of no-contact, suddenly your comm readout from the Kiyomi Maru activates--at least partially; STO#M FR##T INT##SIFY### HVY S#AS NEE# #O TAK# Y## OF# IS###D #PLS RES#OND#

She toggles a switch - SOON   U GET 2 SAF PLC - starts to switch it back, and realizes she is not finished - LOV U

Leaving Ty'daal to do battle with Circe, she charges across the room to the doorway that Time Keeper vanished through...

Within the swirling, shimmering lights, Angelfish can just barely make out Time Keeper's form...

She flips the switch back to voice, volume at max -  T K  T K  ITS A TRAP  COM BAK

Circe's wand held carefully in one armored glove, Angelfish steps over the threshold...

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Angelfish:
The multi-colored vortex swirling in the center of the room tugs at you like the most powerful rip-tide you've ever felt--but the mass of the MK VII suit keeps you rooted to the floor. Unlike Time Keeper, who is suspended in the center of the nexus. The pillars surrounding the perimeter of the power storm keep flickering from one form to another--and Time Keeper's silhouette is flickering along with them, phasing from his normal costumed appearance to a broken, shattered form and back again! He's not getting out of there without help.

Time Keeper:
The nexus is pulling energy from you--massive quantities of temporal energy, more than any one individual could contain... and as it does so, you begin to remember things that never happened: You remember the impact of the car. You remember dying.  You also remember Mea A`a Kaʻaukai's quiet voice, when you met him on the big island. "If you cast your powers back through the time stream, you will not find these days. That does not mean that they have always been untrue."

There's another voice, faint and strained, backed by a sound like lightning. You recognize it as your grandfathers, chanting in a version of your native language so old that you can't make out the words.

Your timeline is broken; something your Grandfather did changed it--changed you. Circe's magic is allowing the nexus to draw energy from the other past, using your powers as a conduit!

[OOC: The natural power of the nexus, aided by Circe's spell, makes the drain very hard to resist. The good news is, the effect is very specific and therefore slow: Every page you miss the roll, you only lose 1 rank of Time Control to the nexus. You're currently at 6. If you succeed in the roll, you break free with whatever ranks you have left at that point. The rest will return after 10 pages, but in the mean time the nexus will be using them...]

Ty'daal:
For a woman obviously on her last legs, Circe seems oddly... content. Even smug. "I knew that I could draw your friend here. Transform enough sailors into sharks, and he would eventually hear of it--and come to investigate. I've observed him for some time; he's incapable of minding his own business." She rises to her feet,  graceful despite her injuries. "I didn't expect him to bring such allies. But your presence matters little; the knot his ancestor tied in destiny's skein will still serve my ends!"

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Time keeper bent his mind to focus on the present, at least in the present he wouldn't loose himself in the past or future but it was hard and the strain was starting to tell, he started to feel faint. Not in the passing out type of faint but the corporal type, he felt himself fading away.

Just then movement caught his eye and there near him was anglefish. His heart was lifted. He added her image to his focus as a second anchor, a solid rock in a storm.

He saw the witches wand in her hand and he reached out for it. Through gritted teeth" angle give me that cursed thing I will try to use it to break the nexus. If I fail then at least her powers will be gone" with that he reached out a fading hand towards his friend and team mate

The vortex tugs at Angelfish, and she plats her feet and peers into the light...

quote:
"Angel give me that cursed thing..."

Time Keeper hangs in the air in the center of the room... and as she watches his form shimmers, shifts - one moment the man, the hero, she knows, the next, a broken shell...

quote:
"Angel give me that cursed thing..."

He stretches out his hand toward her...

Angelfish lifts one boot, and fires a tiny burst of power through the boot still on the floor, using the uneven momentum to angle herself into the maelstrom - swimming toward her friend's outstretched hand...

(OOC: 22:12, Today: Angelfish rolled 5,6 using d6,d6. "Swim" to Time Keeper.
-1 + 6 (coordination)+ 2 (acrobatics)= +7)

She allows the stream to carry her toward Time Keeper, judging the distance and the constantly flickering form of her companion - and when she judges the moment is right, she grabs Time Keeper's wrist and slaps the wand into his open palm.

Time Keeper kept the image of Angel in his mind the only anchor he could find to focus on. He felt the wand being placed in his hand and he pulled it towards his chest.

He looked down at it and bent his will to tracking down its time stream. All things have a time and a place in the universe even magic and he needed to locate its stream.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Time Keeper:
The wand has thousands of years of history. The near end of that is a blur of transformation spells as Circe turns men into animals, and scrying as she magically spies on you--and on Nereid! The far end is clearer; the images have a mythic quality. Circe dueling with a bare-chested war god, summoning a waterspout/sprite to throw against a coastal city that displeased her, summoning Titans to her command...

The wand you're holding is a powerful artifact, with four millennia of spells embedded inside--the operation of which is entirely unknown to you, beyond what you've seen Circe do with it. Your specialties are mechanics and electronics. Its specialties are magic, the occult, and (if Circe's workings are any indication) the language of ancient Greece.

[OOC: Test Intellect vs a Difficulty of 9. That'll give us a baseline for how much you can guess about how to use the wand. I hope Ben had a Classical education...]

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Ty'daal moves to stand between Circe and the entrance to the chamber that Angelfish had disappeared into with Time Keeper. He leveled an even, hard stare at the witch and spoke, "You will fail in the end. You are overconfident in your immortal age and think the world is owed to you. You lack the basic ability to make friends and allies and merely seek to enslave others to your will. With your powers you could have been a force for good but you use them instead in mundane power fantasies of being some two-bit tyrant.

You should have been a legendary hero of this world, never forgotten in history, songs sung in your name, honored by parents naming their daughters after you. Instead, you will only ever be a name, a legacy that is cursed by those you hurt. Then in time, forgotten, you will fade into the past. I pity you."

The warrior falls silent prepared to fight if Circe advanced towards the chamber, blocking her from it, and giving the others a chance to win the day.

(Not taking any 'mechanical' action here.)

Time Keeper:
If only you understood Greek--or knew anyone who understood Greek. Without the ability to command the wand, you can only try to entangle it's destiny with the vortex as the vortex consumes your own former timeline.

[OOC: Test Time Control (currently at 6) vs a Difficulty of 8 to grasp the timestream of the wand. If you succeed you can create an Aspect to help you.
Either way, then Test Time Control (currently at 6) vs a Difficulty of 10 to defend yourself against the vortex!]

Angelfish:
The vortex around Time Keeper is growing more intense, and the streaking and flickering of his silhouetted form is increasing. Whatever he's doing with--or to--Circe's wand is causing a deep lavender color to stain the vortex's multi-colored glow.

Ty'daal:
Circe licks the last of the blood from her lip, and snarls. "You know nothing of me, elemental! Oh, the indignities I have born because I dare show men--and gods--what they really are! But soon enough, that will change. The altered destiny of one man will soon alter the destiny of all."

Relinquishing the wand to Time Keeper, Angelfish allows to vortex to carry her away from him, drifting as if with the current.

She catches a glimpse of Ty'daal, standing stalwart in the doorway, facing Circe, holding her at bay.

She watches the vortex flicker, growing more intense, the colors darkening, lavender, purple, like a sunset... or a bruise...

And still Time Keeper flickers, now strong and whole, now shattered...

He can't control it!  He doesn't know how to control Circe's wand...

And Angelfish feels a sickening dread in the pit of her stomach, feels like she's watching someone drown...

Almost without thinking, she pushes back into the vortex, swimming against the tide...

(OOC: 23:45, Today: Angelfish rolled 3,1 using d6,d6. "Moral support" is better than nothing..
-2 + 6 (coordination)+2 (acrobatics)= 6)

She grabs Time Keeper's wrists, drawing herself up face-to-face...

C'mon T.K.  You can do this!  Let me help!

He seems to look right through her, but she holds on, trying to will her own strength to him...

[OOC: You've created the Quality "Moral Support", with two free activations that Time Keeper can use. They can stack for a total of +4 if used at the same time.]

The temporal nexus is a current stronger than any you've ever felt--and once inside it, you see not Time Keeper, but the world flickering wildly. Purple energy spirals away from the wand in his hands, lighting the ever-changing walls of the chamber with lurid color. The Mark VII's turbines are howling, but the sound is lost in the cacophony of the vortex.

He couldn't hear what she was saying over the noise of the vortex but he felt renewed just for seeing her and pushed his once again focused mind back into the wand to gather its time stream to him.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Time Keeper:
The temporal energy rushing through you from the broken timestream is tearing you apart, feeding into the vortex and making it stronger even as your own existence becomes ever more tenuous. The vortex spins faster and faster, spreading outward, sending the energy it is drawing through you into the mystical island, reinforcing Circe's spell over Kuaihelani and transforming it permanently into Aeaea.

You focus on the wand, willing yourself to remember your family, your grandfather, your ancestors... Thanks to your grandfather, you have two pasts. But only one fuels the vortex. Using the last of your will, you force the broken timeline away. Circe's wand grows hot in your hands, pouring purple radiance into the void at the core of the vortex--the void that your grandfather made when he changed the past and saved your life.

In the outer chamber, Circe tries to dart past Ty'daal--but the alien warrior is waiting for that. "NO! He cannot attune to the wand..."

She's right; as a mortal you can't--but your powers, as the vortex absorbs them, can. The wand is burning, flecks of ash from it's charred surface tearing away in the hurricane wind. As they strike the dark core of the vortex, the explosion is spectacular!

Angelfish:
You fly outward, cracking through one of the pillars and smashing against the wall! Time Keeper was flung the other way, between the huge statues. The vortex consumes Circe's wand, and the energy from that drives upward, shattering the domed roof of the chamber!

Ty'daal:
With flesh and water you block the sorceress' way--and stand against the blast that hits you from behind when Time Keeper breaks the vortex!

[OOC: Defend against a Difficulty of 10 to keep your feet as the energy wave crashes around you!]

Everyone:
In the aftermath of the vortex's demise, Circe's palace is in a shambles. The magic that held it up is gone. In fact, all of her magical workings are gone. Through the broken walls of the palace you can see men rising to their feet among the gardens, disoriented and puzzled. Honua is among them, looking more angry than disoriented, his hair a halo of fire.

Ty'daal:
Chunks of stone debris skip off your water-armor, but you hold firm and remain standing despite the brunt of the blast. Circe cowers in the blast-shadow you create, protected by your presence and appalled at the destruction of her home and her plans.

As the shockwave passes; a little closer, and also disoriented, are a group of men in Medieval armor--formerly the animals who served you wine! One draws his sword, and aims it at your throat. "Varlet! Give us the witch--we have scoured all Avalon to find her, only to fall under her spell as captives. Now she will face the King's justice!"

After the blast wave subsides, Ty'daal releases the pillar and pats it appreciatively before hearing the voice behind him and turning to face the knights.

"You are welcome, by the way human. You would still be a cowering beast if it were not for my allies. And what is 'varlet'? Is it an honored warrior? For that is whom you speak to," the alien warrior said with a sneer, staring down the knight who spoke to him.

(I would say he is not sure, the knight's tone was irritating, but the word I'd imagine is obscure enough for him to not be sure enough to engage him in honorable one-on-one combat ;).)

The force of the expolsion throw Time Keeper across the room and hard up against the wall.

He grunted in pain upon impact and lay there dazed for a moment. As the world slowly came back into focus the master of time pulled himself up to a sitting position, he took a breath and it hurt, probably a few broken ribs, he thought to himself.

Then with a groan he pulled himself up onto his feet using the wall for support, his head span with the effort and he had to lean there for a moment to allow his vision to right itself.

Staggering out into the palace proper he saw the knights pull their swords on his team mate and demand the witch

WAIT !!!” he commanded then bent over and retched all over the polished floor.

Taking a few more steps in that position he waved his hand at them coughing up the remainder of his stomach contents before straightening up and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand

Wait…. Put your swords down now, if it hadn’t been for us you would still be farm animals …. The woman is MY prisoner and as the victor of the battle I claim her as such.”

He walked a little steadier towards them as he felt the last of his essence re-join his body from the surrounding time line “I am  Time Keeper, Master of Time and this witch tried to corrupt time for her own ends that gives me the right to punish her not you.”

so I say again put down your swords because to be honest I AM NOT IN THE MOOD TO PISS ABOUT WITH YOU LOT AT THE MOMENT”

Time keeper wan't in the mood to be accosted by a medieval knight especially after he'd just had his very essence ripped apart.

He reached into the time stream around the metal clad figures and froze it to give him time to gather his thought, check his team mates were ok and to put the witch in shackles.
