Owww!!!

Angelfish struggled to sit upright, head throbbing, ears ringing...

Okay...  we survived.  I think...

Moving carefully, she starts checking the suits seals.  Damage on land probably won't be as fatal as damage in the deep ocean would be.  Probably.

quote:
WEATHER CLEARING. ENCOUNTERED SURVIVORS IN WATER, POSSIBLE SHIPWRECK. SHARKBAITER ASSISTING THEM ABOARD. STATUS?

She glances at the read-out and climbs to her feet to find the others and determine their status.  Following the sound of the voices, finds Ty'daal and Time Keeper facing off with a group armored knights!

Typing carefully, she responds to Ishida

SFE ALIVE  STIL FITING    WIL JOIN BOAT SOON

She checks her weapons, takes a few steps further into the room, behind the knights.

TK  EVRYTNG UNDR CONTRL

She glances around, realizing what's missing

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Time Keeper:
[OOC: Remember that your Time Control power hasn't fully recovered from being absorbed by the vortex yet. Still, a total of 5 gives you enough to catch Circe before she can hide.]
Time slows for you as you burst into motion. Lancelot's threats become a low rumble of sound, and the other knights seem like they're barely moving. The only thing you can find to bind Circe with is a loop of bronze chain that once held up the elaborate chandelier--now crashed into the table with the wine service. It may not hold her long, but it will have to do. Looping it around her wrists you pull her into the center of the room, where she won't be able to hide so easily.

Angelfish:
One second, Circe had been curled at Ty'daal's feet, shielded from the worst of the blast. The next second, you spot her yards away, her wrists twisted in bronze chains held by Time Keeper!

Ty'daal:
Lancelot's sword-point veers back toward you as he realizes that Time Keeper whisked the witch away. "More sorcery! In the name of Arthur, my liege, I thank you for your valiant efforts in capturing the witch Circe, and freeing us from her spell." His words have a gritty quality, as if he's grinding his teeth in anger as he speaks. "But the justice of the High King demands that she face trial for her crimes against the isle of Avalon. Hand her over or you, too, will face the King's justice!" Behind him, several of the other knights begin to draw their swords.

Everyone:
Just then, Honua steps into the rubble-strewn foyer, hair on fire and lava dripping off of him like sweat and sizzling into the marble tiles. His voice is like the roar of a volcano. "Fight over who gets to take her back for 'trial' all you want: Whoever wins can take the body home--after I kill her!"

His hands come together and a blast of flame erupts from his cupped palms!

[OOC: He's firing at Circe, but he's not particular about his aim; some of that fire will hit Time Keeper too. Time Keeper, defend against a Difficulty of 5.]

[OOC: After TK's defense, anyone can go in any order. Then Lancelot & the knights will go, then Circe (assuming she's still alive).]

You sweep Circe out of the blast radius, winding up near the immense statue of Poseidon, still mostly standing after the vortex's destruction.

[OOC: Ty'daal & Angelfish can go in any order you choose! Then Lancelot & the knights will go, then Circe (assuming she's still alive).]

Not wanting to hurt the knight, Ty'daal attempted to duck under the sword and grapple him- with the goal of ending this fight before it began so that talks could be undertaken.

(19:14, Today: Ty'daal rolled 3,5 using d6,d6. Wrap Up (Wrestling (+5)). Total: +3. Unlikely.)

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Ty'daal:
Lancelot is fast on his feet for a human cased in metal; he springs backward--you find yourself facing a full six drawn swords as his fellow knights form up beside him! "Lay hands upon a knight of the Round Table at your peril, sirrah! Upon this Isle of Avalon, we are the instruments of the king's justice!"

Angelfish
Lancelot and the other knights acknowledge the somewhat tinny mechanical voice of your voder, but their blades don't waver. Honua advances, sneering. "Same side? They're just more haole invading Pele's sacred island!" He flings an accusing finger toward Circe, sending drops of lava flying. "Her meddling with the magic here made them stronger too!" His hair and eyebrows are made of fire, but now the very pupils of his eyes turn red as his anger builds. The cords of muscle around his neck are tight and his hands ball into fists. "Now you will all burn!" The air around Honua is becoming incandescent as his power builds.

[OOC: If you want to back your words with dice, test Willpower vs a Difficulty of 7 to try and put a "Hesitation" Quality on him.]

Time Keeper:
Circe struggles within the loops of bronze chain, maneuvering to put you between herself and Honua. You notice that the "chosen of Pele" is standing in a pool of lava, the heat radiating from his body has melted the stone tiles--and he's getting hotter by the second...

[OOC: Anyone can go in any order! Fair warning; whatever Honua is preparing, it'll go off next page.]

Ty'daal tries to draw moisture out of the air and finds that whatever the magics unleashed here has severely imbalanced the atmospheric conditions. Drawing on the last of the water covering him he prepares to try to defend himself and the others from whatever the fire Demi-god was planning.

(20:33, Today: Ty'daal rolled 1,2 using d6,d6. Create Water Shield (+5). That would be a 4, I'll spend a point of determination to get a 6 by tagging my Water-Born quality. And I'll take that free invoke- barely succeeding fits in narratively that I've probably used up the water from the ocean I brought and the humidity here is not high. Running on empty water wise.)

Ty'daal:
Salt crystallizes upon your skin and black spots dance at the edges of your vision as you drive the last of the water surrounding you into a barrier. Lancelot and his knights, realizing the threat that Honua represents, mutter "Wizardry!"--but they form a wall of steel behind your wall of water.

[OOC: By accepting the Compel on Dehydration you get one free use on your newly-created Water Shield.]

Time Keeper:
The future is clear; in two seconds, Honua will bring the heels of his hands together before his chest, open his fingers in the shape of a flower, and a blast of incandescent lava will roar forth obliterating most of the building! Anyone in it when that happens will have to survive the two-thousand degree temperature and the seven-hundred mph pyroclastic blast-wave.

Often, your sense of the future is like a widening fan of strands where the possibilities multiply without end. That isn't what you sense now; in this instance, the future possibilities narrow toward a singularity.

Angelfish glances around...  Time Keeper is struggling with Circe, Ty'daal has created a wall of water, but based on the the dry look to his skin, it's taken all his reserves.  And still Honua rages and threatens!

Enough is enough!

She is tired, Time Keeper must be at the ragged edge, and if Ty'daal doesn't get water soon...

Her eyes drift up to the shattered dome.  It's a risk...  She could just make things worse...  But right now that doesn't seem possible.

O.K.  Boys, I just hope you know when to follow my lead!

She calculates the angles, the force of the weapon...

Angelfish:
[OOC: I'll allow your new Do The Math Quality to substitute for your Underwater Combat bonus (which you really can't use on dry land).]

The dome collapses! Honua is showered with stone blocks--which glow and soften as they strike him! Even so, he's soon buried in a heap of rubble that is rapidly turning into lava! The heat emanating from him is intense--but mercifully not as directional as he intended, and blocked by tons of marble.

Ty'daal:
Lancelot and his knights shy away from the glowing rubble, moving toward the spot where Time Keeper is holding Circe.

Time Keeper:
Circe turns to face you. "Fool! Had I my wand in hand, this would be easily dealt with! This island should have been mine and mine alone--Aeaea from coast to coast! Avalon and Kuaihelani would have been banished, never to return--and these fools would have been banished with them!"

Time Keeper was tired and not in the mood to listen to the whining of the witch and he spun on her and suddenly did a very un-gentlemanly thing he smacked her in the face fast.

OOC:10:10, Today: Time Keeper rolled -1 using 2d6-7. super speed fast attack (7) total 6 if thats a knock out he will catch her before she falls and fling her over his shoulder

"thank god she's shut up" he exclaimed " I suggest we head back towards the beach at least there our ocean friend here can rehydrate I have a feeling we might need you at full strength also Angel your suit works better in water and with my speed I might be able to whip up the sea to hit him with a water funnel if needed"

"Yes, let us head to the beach and we can discuss this further. The ruins of this place leave a foulness to the air that I cannot stand," Ty'daal speaks moving between the knights and Time Keeper. They didn't know to ask the real reason for his agreement- moving to the beach would allow him to gather water to himself and remove his weakened condition.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Everyone:
You head for the ocean at full speed--with a rag-tag group of confused fishermen and angry Medieval knights following behind you!

Time Keeper:
Circe, unceremoniously thrown over your shoulder, is no light-weight; and now that she's unconscious, the control she's exerted over the competing natures of the floating island is fading.

Everyone:
The bands of mist that criss-cross the island are writhing and shifting, displaying alternative versions of the island's reality as they drift. One moment, the dry and rocky Aeaea predominates, then an instant later the mist will part to reveal the same terrain covered in the lush vegetation of Kuaihelani, or the deep forests of Avalon!

It makes navigation difficult, but downhill must be the path to the ocean... Behind you, the high ground erupts; Honua, chosen scion of the volcano goddess, is angry--and loose!

Angelfish:
Through the shifting vegetation, you catch sight of the glint of the ocean--and the welcome sight of the narrow black triangle that is the Kiyomi Maru!

Everyone:
As you reach the beach, red-hot rocks begin falling from the sky, thrown upward by Honua's explosive break-out! The group of men following you are in a panic, and beginning to scatter; if they can't find shelter, they'll be badly burned!

[OOC: Everyone Defend against a Difficulty of 6 to avoid the basalt hail. If you get hit, take 4 Stress. After that, anyone can act in any order!]

Making their way downhill, the beach, the ocean, the the boat in sight, Angelfish begins to feel confident that they've made it...  At least until the flaming rocks begin to fall...

Crap!  He got out of that faster than I thought...

Even with the armor, getting hit by that will do some damage!

(OOC: 03:01, Today: Angelfish rolled 3,5 using d6,d6. Evade Flying, Flaming Rocks.
-2 + 6 (coordination)+2 (acrobatics)= +6)

Angelfish dives off the path they had been following downward and tumbles into the meager shelter provided by the overhanging roots of a large stand of trees - at least in this timeline, there's a tiny "cave" formed where running water has undercut the roots.  Hopefully, the next shift of time won't find her buried alive!

She shifts, trying to watch for Honua, trying to spot shelter for the "refugees" in their care, trying to find a safe path to the ocean...

(OOC: 03:21, Today: Angelfish rolled 6,1 using d6,d6. Reviewing the Situation..

Ty'daal feels the salt spray on his skin, and it rushes through him in a wave of euphoria. Then he hears the explosion behind him and spins quickly to see the bombardment of flame rocks. "Now I'm back on my territory," he speaks with a confident smile. Pulling his hand back he begins slinging huge spheres of water at the incoming rocks to extinguish the flames and knock them aside.

(07:33, Today: Ty'daal rolled 1,2 using d6,d6 with rolls of 1,2. Water Control (+5). Spending determination to tag Water Born for a +2- Ty'daal is revitalized by the sea water behind him, the moisture in the air and a few volcanic rocks aren't going to ruin his day!. Total: +6.)

Angelfish:
The only "refuge" to be had is aboard the Kiyomi Maru--not that there's space for all these people. Alternatively, you noticed several semi-derelict fishing vessels beached along the floating island's shore during your initial approach...

Ty'daal:
The superheated stones shatter into tiny bits upon contact with the cold seawater, and the seawater flashes into steam! Bits of foamy-textured black gravel pelt the running men, mixed with warm, salty raindrops. Unpleasant for them, but no longer dangerous.

OOC: 12:31, Today: Time Keeper rolled 1 using 2d6-7.  super speed (7) to miss being hit. Total 8

Using his speed he whipped the time stream round him and used it to move seconds before the super heated rocks landed in his location

Time Keeper was concerned that reality would rip the island apart. Dropping the witch onto the beach he knelt and thrust his hands into the sand feeling the ancient past of the land flow through his fingers.

He concentrated feeling the time stream wrap round him and flow through him. He was the master of time and he was of the line of tribal ancients he called with his mind for once again for the protectors of their ancient laws and ways to aid him on stabilising the island and anchoring it in the present

OOC: 12:34, Today: Time Keeper rolled 3 using 2d6-7.  time control (7) and spend a determination activating master of time and one for tribal ancestors Total 10

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Time Keeper:
The shifting, overlapping realities of the floating island are as mystical as they are temporal, but by exerting your control of the time-stream you can slow down the flowing bands of change that sweep the island. The area you can see stabilizes in it's tropical appearance, as Kuaihelani.

Angelfish:
Your comm-screen lights with a message from Ishida-san. HOW MANY PASSENGERS? WE ARE SEEING VOLCANIC ACTIVITY UPSLOPE OF YOUR POSITION. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

Ty'daal:
The nearness of the ocean leaves you feeling refreshed. The salty rain, even mixed as it is with fine volcanic dust, is invigorating against your skin.

Everyone:
The crowd of men you freed gather on the beach in confusion, unsure of what to do next. You can see gouts of flame rising among the palm trees flanking the path you took to the shore, and the ground beneath your feet trembles.

Angelfish chews her lip, thinking furiously, searching for the right answers as she types...

2 MANY  HONUA HERE  MAD  SUM BOATS ON SHOR  NOT GOOD

CAN SB HELP  OTHR DOLFINS MBY

WATH 4 BOATS

The battered and storm damaged boats on the beach aren't much, but they're all that's available.  She turns the volume up and gestures for the refugees' attention...

MEN  GO 2 BOATS

She points, hoping they will understand, hoping that some of the boats will float at all - she has little hope that they're sea-worthy.

GO 2 BOATS   GO 2 C  LOOK 4 DOLFINS  LOOF 4 BOAT  HELP IS COMING

and I really hope I'm not lying to them...

Angelfish moves down the beach, herding the men toward those so-called boats.

Re: E5S10 - Aeaea - TK, A, Ty
Ty'daal weaves a continuing rope of water from the sea into a suit similar to the one he had 'worn' earlier.

"If this Honua wishes to put his fire against the sea at my command he will find he has made a grave mistake. I will drown his flames much as the sea does to Hawaii's lava flows."
