Time Keeper:
As you run up to the hospital building, things seem deceptively normal; there's traffic on the surrounding streets, and people walking dogs and playing Frisbee in the small park just north of the hospital. You note in passing that the tread-marks from the Tinker's cybernetic tank division which once criss-crossed the park have almost completely disappeared.

You interacted briefly with Beeline when you rescued the Mayor from those same tanks. He seemed capable enough, if somewhat distracted by Nereid. Iridescent wings, a black-and-yellow costume, compound eyes, and some kind of bright bio-energy blasts from his fingertips.

High up in the hospital building, there are flashes of purple and yellow light behind the windows of the eighteenth floor...

[OOC: What do you do?]

Time Keeper:
It's easy to find an open window--several have been shattered by the concussive effect of Beeline's "venom blasts". Diving in through the empty frame, you see Beeline flying backward through the air toward you. Unfortunately, it's not under his own power; he's folded double, thrown backward by a massively powerful blow from the lashing tail of the figure at the end of the hall!

He's tall--or perhaps long is the right word; eighteen feet or so, most of it tail. From the waist up his body is human, the rest is serpentine. He's covered with golden-brown scales, and has a diagonal pattern of darker brown along his back. His hands end in sharp claws, and his pupils are vertical slits.

The snake-man surges forward, his tail whipping ahead at you!

[OOC: Test Prowess vs Difficulty 4. (It's only 4 because this is his second attack this round; he's fast). He's also strong; that tail does 6 Stamina on a hit!]

Time Keeper:
The snake-man snarls as your rapid-fire strikes crack ribs--but as a snake, he has a lot of ribs... Behind him, in the corridor, you can see a couple of nurses and a doctor in green scrubs strewn across the tile. No one is visibly bleeding, but they're unconscious, or worse. People are peering out some of the doors that line the hallway opposite the windows you came in; terrified faces with jaws dropped in shock.

Beeline crashes into a diagnostic machine on a rolling rack, and both he and the machine slam into the wall! "You're not who I was expecting, but I really appreciate the assist!" He wheezes.

The creature emits a baritone hiss, and lashes out. The whip-cracking tail slashes toward your torso, then reverses direction at lighting speed, heading straight for your head!

[OOC: Test Prowess twice, against Difficulty 6, then Difficulty 4. Any hit does 6 Stamina.]

With great speed the master of time stepped back just as the tail lashed out at the spot where he'd just been standing. a second later he ducted as the tail came back for a second attempt this time at head height.

Swivelling between both attacks TK once again let fly with a barrage of fast attacks

Time Keeper:
Beeline maneuvers along the wall, motioning for people to take cover behind the doors, and tries to get an angle that allows him to fire at the serpent-man without hitting you. That's not easy, given how fast you and your opponent are moving...

The snake-man hisses again in frustration, then surges forward his entire length, slithering between you and Beeline! In an instant he's around the corner and down a branching corridor!

Beeline takes his shot, sending a blazing purple bolt of energy after the disappearing tail. "Damn! I got a piece of him, but I'm not having much effect..."

Suddenly, there's a crash and a scream from the far end of the branching corridor!

[OOC: Test Coordination (or Time Control) vs a Difficulty of 6 if you want to chase the snake-man.]

Time Keeper:
A nurse's assistant, a hospital nutritionist, and a cart of meals on covered trays are strewn across the corridor tile in front of the elevator bank. One of the elevator doors has been wrenched out of it's track, exposing the shaft and elevator cables. '

The nutritionist appears to have fainted. The nurse's assistant is made of sterner stuff. One trembling hand is pointed toward the elevator shaft. "It... it went that way! Down!"

Beeline's wings buzz behind you. "Need a lift?"

"And humans consider the loss of their gills an evolution... heh. Uh, while I appreciate the lift and the view, we do have a method of deceleration, don't we?"
