OOC'ly I'm shooting in the dark here. Did we miss a clue we were supposed to have about how to defeat this guy?

You know how you can defeat him already. The question is what you are prepared to sacrifice to do it... ;)

Lets just knock him out. The worst that happens is we end up knocking every villager out until we get to him. We make sure he's helpless first of course.

Gilad's flummoxed too! Looks like we've got a tough choice in store for us.

Re: Meta-game & Rules Discussion
Folks, don't worry, you haven't missed anything, you are making reasonable choices based on the information you have available. Fight or co-operate, the choice is stark. However, there is no wrong answer, you will not doom Brooken either way... necessarily. So do what feels right to you.

If you do decide for the fight option go right ahead and roll Init :)

Still not clear, OOC. Sigmund thinks he's got this figured out.

Re: Meta-game & Rules Discussion
OK folks, a dilemma is sometimes good but I think you might be overthinking this one.

Grabbing the braids may or may not be a feasible plan, but in any event you will surely have to fight the Owner to do it. With (you assume) the hordes charging towards the city on all sides there just isn't the time for the sneaky/infiltration option, not with the Owner standing right there an watching you.

So it still basically comes down to the same choices: start braiding or roll for Init :)

The reason we were over-thinking it was because you threw the "violence makes him stronger" wrinkle at us a while ago.

Well, Zanne and Vander had the 'knock him out plan' but that was put on hold for Gilad's reaction, and we never got back to it.

"Violence makes him stronger" is certainly one way to interpret what Gilad experienced, but not necessarily the only way ! Anyway, stronger =/= unbeatable ;)

Folks, the last thing I wanted to do with my little dilemma was to kill the game! If you like I can provide some stuff your characters wouldn't know to make the choices clearer.

But before that, remember you have an oracle in your back pocket :)

I am waiting for Gilad. If he doesn't post soon, I say we just go ahead and attack.

Re: Meta-game & Rules Discussion
Folks, I have a question for you ahead of the Owner answering Gilad in-game.

I am thinking about the next set of adventures in the Heroic tier, but wanted to run my outline by you all first in case anyone has any objections.

Because of your intervention, this pocket realm has be de-synced from its original reality. When you return it will be to an alternate present. Your Relationship rolls for this adventure and the next would help me determine how the Icons' power dynamic, and your relationship with them, has changed.

I am keeping some stuff back of course but I had an idea that getting back to your own reality might be the goal of the heroic tier. And then there's the classic trope where at the end, you all decide to stay put in the new one. We'll see :)

I you are not down for this, there will be a way to return to your base reality.

That scenario sounds promising to me! Of course, how it plays out ingame will determine whether Gilad favors staying or trying to get back home.

Re: Meta-game & Rules Discussion
Posting here before rolling for Sigmund's full action, in case this effects anything Vander's doing. Looks like I got a 21 for initiative; would that mean Sigmund's turn comes before the Owner makes it into the Emporium?

Sigmund rolled 21 using 2d20+6, dropping the lowest dice only with rolls of 8,15.  Initiative.

Re: Meta-game & Rules Discussion
Apols Gilad, I rolled for Sigmund's Init but forgot to roll twice and take the best.

Will whatever Sigmund does have an impact on the Owner getting into the Emporium? If so, will roll the round back to Sigmund's turn.

Vander, Shadow Walk is indeed a move action, but moving past Shakru into the Emporium is also a move action, so no attack this round. If Gilad decides to roll things back feel free to take another approach.

Re: Meta-game & Rules Discussion
In reply to The Empire (msg # 441):

I was under the impression Shadow walk included a move. Its sorta in the power, as you can get a better feat on it to change it from a normal move to a teleport type move.

By the way, can the owner still attack me out of turn?
