Green Room 2 (OOC)

I guess we have a 1000 post limit on a single thread, so I started this one.

Okay, so I was enjoying an ice cream with a waffle cone and watching TV a while ago. I was just minding my own business when I heard a little ‘pop’ sound. I had been having a bit of trouble with this one tooth, but it was on the mend. I figured that something shifted, but without any pain, I figured it was minor.

A few days later, I noted that part of that tooth was wigglin’ and the rest of it wasn’t moving at all. After a quick internet search, I determined that I had fractured my tooth; split it right down the middle of the molar. My dentist confirmed it with a “that tooth is not treatable’ kind of a statement. So, mid week, I had it removed.

I now feel like a 10 year old missing a tooth, but the tooth fairy isn’t gonna give me a dollar for this one. In fact, it seems like the fairy will be charging me interest and penalties for early withdrawal. I go back on Wednesday to have the stitches removed and in a few months, we get to see if I am a candidate for a tooth implant. The dental fun just keeps on rolling.

How was your week?

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

What a week I have had. First of all, I had a midterm this week. The last time I had a midterm, Reagan was in office as President. I think I did okay, but I will have to wait a week to find out.

Next, I have had a batch of medical ups and downs. I’m not going to bore you with details, but let’s say I am on the mend. Real life keeps getting into the way of my free time. To that end, I have an announcement. I will be adding a very good friend of mine that I have known a long time to be my co-GM. I need some assistance with some of the game mechanics and that will be their job. I will still be the creative element of the game, but since I can’t post from work and my RL often gets in the way at night, I may use the co-GM to make some posts on my behalf. I believe this will give me the time to concentrate on the story end and to get the game moving at a better pace.

I need to figure out with this new version of RPOL how to add a co-GM to the game. Then you will see that character added to the cast list. Thanks for being patient with me.

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

Oh, dental issues. I can identify with dental issues. I have a tooth which starts hurting at semi-regular intervals for no apparent reason, and regularly it has gotten so bad that I go see a dentist, only to get the same reply pretty much everytime, variations over That tooth looks perfectly fine and There is no reason it should be itching.

And, well, I guess we've been boring and drilling that bastard about five times by now, allegedly I even have a local-anaesthetic filling sitting in there, but nothing's really changed. At times it is really quite painful in much the same manner a second degree burn is, but I've gotten more or less used to it anyway. This is the bastard sitting just behind the vampire's tooth on the right side (these are the kind of words I figure I'll never manage to pick up being non-native).

Hope your tooth sorts itself out. Hope it isn't in one of those cosmetically-challenging spots.

 - Johnny, wondering if his wisdom teeth (I hope a direct translation works here) are going to give him trouble anytime soon. You deserve all the patience in the world.

Did anyone else get the Roy Orbison song stuck in their head after reading the post from a character called "Pretty Woman"?

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

Just wanted to say hi, and introduce myself. I've been lurking in Misery for awhile now and I love what you guys have been doing. I feel lucky to be joining such a great group. Story and plot are still in Compton's hands. I'm just on board to help with some of the nuts and bolts. I'm really looking forward to being part of a game with such wonderful writers.

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

I'm sorry, when did this become a series directed by Alan Smithee?

That can't be good... I need to talk to my agent.

*chuckles*

Welcome, and thank you for the kind words ;)

You know, folks, I kinda misplaced my notes on the plan... All I remember is that Iain is supposed to get to the forbidden area, where only an undead can enter.

Would someone kindly help me remember what I'll have to do once I get there? :P

Iain R. Short:

I’m not directing, just assisting. So, I take no credit for the project  :-)

These are the notes I have put together from conversations with Compton, and what I read in the story. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. I may have missed something, or parts of the plan may have changed.

THE PLAN

Dren and Johnny get themselves invited to the poker game. Pieran poses as the caterer, Andre Rousseau, and Alex and Raven will be Rousseau’s staff. Dren loses and washes out of the game early, going to the private lounge. Johnny has to make sure that Chorro wins enough to stay in the game. That will keep Chorro from leaving the table while the theft is in progress.

Iain needs to get to the surveillance room on the First Deck and turn off the security cameras before Dren can steal the mirror. There are three sets of stairs that lead from the Main Deck to the First Deck. One is located in the Casino’s Security Office, the other two can be found at the stern in Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill (see the Casino floor plans posted above). The stairs down to the First Deck are each secured with an employee only gate. Iain will need a keycard to get through the gate and down to the First Deck (the locked gates probably violate fire codes but, Chorro must not care about that). Once on the First Deck, Iain must go to the Surveillance Room. Only an undead can enter this room. Iain will need to take out any guards there and turn off the cameras.

The plan relies on synchronized timing. Iain performs his part at a predetermined time. It is up to Pieran to keep track of the time, as well, since he will be sending signals to Dren and Johnny. At the predetermined time, Pieran will have a particular food or drink served in the game room. That will be Dren’s signal that it is time to bail out of the game because Iain should have the cameras off.

Dren must get by two locked doors. The first door leads to the private section of the boat. The second is the door to Chorro’s office. On a wall just inside the office door is an alarm. You will have less than 30 seconds to enter the correct code on the keypad, or the alarm will sound. Raven plans to use her ability to “read” the alarm and discover the current code. Dren  will remove the mirror, Raven will replace it with Pieran’s fake, and then smuggle the mirror out of the casino to Mike, who will be waiting to drive it away.

After Dren and Raven have both returned to the lounge, Pieran will serve another special food or drink to the game room. That will be Johnny’s signal that the theft is complete and he is free to leave the game.

Hi Alan.  I'm Pieran, actor extraordinaire.  Please be sure my sides are delivered on time.  Also, I want only yellow M&Ms in my trailer.  As for your synopsis, I understood everything you said except one small part: the part after, THE PLAN.

Yeah! Finals are final and I pass my classes. Now it is just paperwork and the obligatory fee for my degree. One small step for me.

LOL hehehe Well, yes Iain. He is rather fast, for a demi-human.  "¡Ándale! ¡Ándale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba!" Speedy Gonzales

Well, I noted that we have had another anniversary here in St. Louis. For that, I want to award 5 XP and 2 Drama points. Thank you for continuing this adventure with me.

And I find myself in Seattle, Washington this week. I have good Internet, so it should not be an issue.

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

Hey everyone. I spent last week on a business trip to Atlantic City. I was in a nice casino hotel and thought I would be getting Internet access. Alas, I was wrong. It was a nice trip, but I gotta say, I just don’t understand the thrill of gambling with real money. Or more correctly, my own money.  I could place a twenty on the table and if I don’t win, in two hands, it is gone.

Oooo fun?? I think not.  However, gambling with virtual money is much more fun. Sorry about the delay. If I had known for sure, I would have posted before I went on the trip. Back to our game.

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

I have made an edit to Chorro’s last game post. I really wanted to advance time a bit before we went into a detailed hand played. I didn’t want this to be the first round. So this is a a few rounds into the game.

Everything else remains the same.

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

Well thank you very much. My goal is actually to put together a new page that lists some "reviews" you know the kind:
"...an amazing thrill ride" -Ebert and Roper
"D-Wars is a Must See." -New York Times (I'm still trying to figure that one out)

The reason being, I'm going to a RolePlaying Con in Feb. most people there don't know what machinima is - but most know who Buffy is. Ergo - RolePlaying/Buffy-Angel Fans commenting on Machinima make get them to check it out more than just reviews from "Sims99.com" (if ANY of that made sense).

so - short story, long... I present the link:

Finals, Christmas, moving from one apartment to another, which happens to be an internet-free zone for the next few weeks.

The horror!

Good news is, two out of four done and excellent connectivity at school, fifteen minutes from the new apartment. Should manage to keep up.
