he said into the comm.
He turned to Nightcrawler. "I'm going to go check on Impulse,
make sure Cupid is alright then join me in the next room."

turned and walked into the Mummification chamber. There were some
grizzly looking tools used for removing organs according to his notes.
Worse still there were jars he knew were filled with the remains of
ancient organs.
"Impulse, see if you can't work your magic in here. Seriously I'd
love to advance out of this room asap."
he ordered.

he's giving Impulse and if enough dice remain Nightcrawler some coordination assets. Team d8, "face" of the X-Men d8, psych d8 split to 2d6

As he finishes giving the orders he hears a rumbling. He turns his head and the door between the two rooms shuts. Then he hears ceramic shattering all around the room as vast amounts of sand pour in.

"Impulse mate... Get readin'"
he murmurs.

After the world fades to black Impulse can feel his body being pulled in every which way, sometimes as if his insides are on the outside.

"You git! Why would you take us out of there? Bugger all we're going to get trapped out here with no way to advance!" Dreadnought couldn't believe it. They were going to loose because of Impulse's impulsiveness.

"Nightcrawler, get us in there, Impulse, show him the room with your telepathy." he knew he had to act quickly, that room would fill up fast.

Helen pulls out an arrow she thinks may help, she knocks it and aim's at one of the sand spouts. She finds out it was a miss-labeled arrow head. It was marked acid, but it was actually an explosive tipped arrow. It blows the spout apart and more snad is allowed to flow in from the hole.

"Omigod, I'm sorry! I can't do anything right today!" she said, nearly sobbing at how badly her last few attempts had gone.

As the team hurriedly attempts to figure out a way to stop the trap, the level of sand fills the room so high if they could still stand on the floor it would be above their knees.

The timer steps up to d8. The danger room passes to Armstrong.

TK, looking around the Queen's Chamber, finds a lever with Hieroglyphics saying something about sand, confused by it's potential meaning, he contacts Dreadnought.

"Uhhhh Dreadnought, I found a....."

"Bloody hell, Armstrong, what is it, we are kinda about to drown in sand. Can you even drown in sand?"


It dawns on TK that this might be the lever to stop the sand, so without further thought, TK flips the switch.

Rolling his d10 solo, d8 Ancient Hieroglyphs and d8 Tech, TK flips the switch, hoping it will stop the sand and disable the trap complication.
Armstrong rolled 10,3,7 using d10,d8,d8 ((10,3,7)). 10e10
Rolling the Doom Pool of 2d6 and the complication of d10
Armstrong rolled 3,2,1 using d10,d6,d6 ((3,2,1)). 5e4
TK's effect is increased to 12, removing the complication, and there is one opportunity to purchase.


The sand in the room stops flowing and Dreadnought gets on the communicator.

"Oh, well, it seems the sand has stopped flowing, you were saying, Armstrong?"

"Nothing sir, I'll try to find my way to your location."

The sand comes to a stop after a few moments, and begins draining
out of the room.The doors behind and ahead of the X-Men open. Behind
is the way they came in, ahead is a long corridor filled with small
sarcophagi. None are as nice as you would expect for a Pharaoh. Maybe
they are for his servants. Careful examination will reveal they each have
a weapon depicted on the lid of their sarcophagus.

final thing d12 gain acess to the pharoh's sarcophagus. d6 timer.

Kurt is a little nervous after the last few rooms. He pulls out the study guide to try to figure out the significance of the sarcophagi while being on the look out for more traps.

 make the Danger room go. It replenishes as i'd have less than 2d6.


As Jeff and Kurt struggle to read the warning that those who would
seek to disturb the Pharaoh's slumber would have to face his bravest
warriors first, the sound of ancient sarcophagi opening rings down the hallway.

'Eric!" Cupid screams as he's cut down under the weight of enemies. She doesn't have time to worry about him though as they set their undead sight on the rest of the team.

Dread gains 1pp and the doom pool grows by d8. Cupid gains 1pp and the doom pool grows by 1d6. There are 3 opportunities to purchase. I'll post Cupid's action after your reactions. Be as descriptive as you like! Have fun with the final scene.

They are no match for his skills and none of them can strike a firm blow, but there are too many to launch an offensive strike of his own. Nightcrawler hopes someone will even the odds soon.

TK is running down a corridor where he believes he heard his teammates' voices. All of a sudden a secret wall opens up down a ways from TK and some undead warriors emerge from the newly opened doorways. They ready their weapons as TK decides the best way to avoid a fight is to barrel past them.

TK attempts to shove his way through the enemies using his d10 solo, d8 Built like a Maze to represent the narrow hallways, and his d8 stamina to keep his stride despite the beating he is likely to suffer at the hands of these undead abominations.
Armstrong rolled 6,4,2 using d10,d8,d8 ((6,4,2)). 10e8


TK gets passed the first few ranks, but his progress his halted by their sheer amount of bodies in the way, TK now stands beset on all sides by foes.

Helen winced in pain. She looked around, she couldn't see Impulse or Dreadnought. That left her with Nightcrawler.
"All X-Men still standing, report. This is Cupid, I'm assuming command. Rally to me!" she said into her communicator as she dodged a flurry of poorly aimed blows from the undead. She turned to see Kurt swashbuckling a pack of warriors like he was a natural.
 "Nightcrawler, Find Dreadnought. Pull off his mask, point him at things." she orders.

Giving Kurt an Asset that will hopefully (in conjunction with a stunt) will represent Dread's blast. D8 team, d8 shot through the heart (she's using her powers to make him focus) d6 mind control d8 psych spending 1pp to buy a d10 stunt.

TK was wading his way through the horde of undead, getting pummeled and beaten. His metallic form protected him mostly, but it still was causing some damage. They forced his path to collide with a sarcophagus. At that point, TK heard Cupid's message. It was time to impress Cupid, TK picked up the sarcophagus and started to swing it around.

TK is buying a d10 stunt. He is rolling in order to attack the d12 complication. Aesthetically he is attacking the horde of monsters with his sarcophagus stunt.
He rolls his d10 solo, d8 Built like a Maze to account for close-quarters and maximum carnage, and his d8 Mimic.
Armstrong rolled 3,4,6,8 using d10,d10,d8,d8. Spends a pp to keep 3. 18e10
Doom Pool rolled 10,4,5 using d12,d6,d6 15e8
TK steps the complication down to a d10 to represent the decrease in threat from the undead.



TK starts swinging the Sarcophagus around knocking the undead around like they were weightless. In his furious swinging, he looses his grip on the sarcophagus, it plows through a wall and land on the horde that Nightcrawler was about to blast with Dreadnought's power. After the dust cleared, TK walks into the room. This surprises Nightcrawler, but thanks to his quick acting, he narrowly misses hitting TK with Dread's blast.

"Armstrong rallying to your location as ordered, Cupid"

The hallway fills with a terrible shriek. The undead are knocked aside and scattered, the few remaining offer little challenge.
The X-Men make their way down the hallway to a giant door. This must be the Pharaoh's room.
Cupid pulls out an arrow and aims at the hinges.

D8 team, d8 shot through the heart, d8 reflex, d8 weapon, d8 explosive arrow, d10 stunt, d6 combat.

The room slowly reverts back to it's normal state. The lights come on and they see the Professor smiling at the controls.

"Well, that was thrilling. Good work, my X-Men."

"I am ready to hit zee pool, anyone else wis me?" Kurt had worked up a heavy sweat while fighting the horde. He hoped his competence in today's exercise would get him a bit of leniency from Eric and the professor who had been pushing everyone since they recovered from the Brotherhoods raid.
