Solo DnD

Character Name: Fausto Contarini
Align ment: Chaotic Neutral
Races: Half Elven
Deity: Waukeen
Class: Aristocrat/Rogue
Background: Noble
One-paragraph physical description: Standing at 5’8” weighing in at 140 pounds, it is easy to see that there is Elven blood in Fausto’s mix. His pale skin attests to the matter as well contrasting with his black hair and searing blue eyes in an almost eerie way. Fausto dresses as if he were the most fashionable military commander in all of Verona, and perhaps he is just that. He carries himself with an ease of command.

One-paragraph biography: Fausto is a landed knight who has reached the rank of Commander or Commendatore. His family lands are little more than a farm and orchard with a modest manor house. Not even a keep. Current care of the lands are in the hands of his younger sister, Mariabella. With little more than a small aristocratic title among a sea of aristocratic titles to support himself, Fausto turned to the merchant houses to begin to regain some semblance of financial stability. The proper clothing and a decent looking sword allowed him to sign on as a caravan guard on the trade route from Verona to Venice. Fausto kept up this work, helping to fight off the occasional bandits, and the armed forces of greedy nobles and rival merchants who used their latest skirmishes to try and pad their pockets.  It was when Fausto received his first pistol that his fortunes began to change. His prowess with the weapon helped determine the outcome of a few battles and he was eventually awarded the title of Commendatore by his knightly order, this being a political move to appease some thankful merchants rather than any true knightly endeavor of excellence shown to the realm. Now Fausto seeks to use his new station to become more involved in the aristocracy by way of commanding troops in other ventures and investing alongside the merchant families to gain income beyond a guard salary. But Fausto knows that he must be wary, while he may have gained favored in some eyes, he is sure that he has seen the hidden glint of enmity in others.
What is their greatest virtue?: Fausto is quietly charming, offering a gentle but warm smile with polite words to all he encounters. In the proper social settings, he is a bit more open and friendly with a good sense of humor.
What is their deepest flaw?: When challenged, he is all steel and lightning. (tunnel vision)
Give me one fun detail about them:  Despite having at least a little prowess in the arenas that he has found himself, Fausto suffers from imposter syndrome.
What kind of experiences are you looking when playing?: political intrigue with a little adventure
How much creative control do you want over the setting of your adventure?: I am flexible, but enjoy helping world-build if you like.
Narrative-first approach or Details-first approach? Narrative please
Do you have a preferred theme for your adventure?:</b> Intrigue
Finally, are you allowed to view Adult material in your place of residence? Yes

(This character was originally designed for a campaign in Verona, but could work easily in Waterdeep or other settings, and can be reworked if early pistols are not allowed. Thank you.)
