"Tell me about who your character in this game is BEFORE the Meteorite struck, before they began developing their powers."[/OOC] Nick Faust lives in Uptown in a second story apartment of a building whose lower floor is split into two businesses. The first is a bar named The Rugged Rascal which is just as classy as it sounds. The second one bares the daring name of Kitten’s Chinese Restaurant. Nick works in what he imagines is the smallest cubicle in the Financial District as a data miner.
It isn’t really a dead end job, no matter how much it may feel like it at times. Nick was on track to develop a groundbreaking machine learning (artificial intelligence) program to mine, analyze, and propose uses for collected data. But a lack of skills in navigating office politics and sabotage by a co-worker led Nick to be fired because of a security violation. With that on his record, his career was virtually finished. Luckily, Nick was able to get an entry level position with Forbush & Associates. Now he just had to figure out his next move.
Connections - Nick met Riley when Nick first got fired. Nick was drinking a lot and eventually needed to find a new place to stay since he was looking for work. Riley suggested Nick rent one of the apartments upstairs, and the two slowly became friends.
Nick met a Jessie when he was trying to get good deals on used computer equipment. During one of his visits, the cops dropped in on Jessie and started asking a bunch of questions. Nick reflexively covered for Jessie, and she started hooking him up with better deals.
