Ancillae

=ptrayal;14448879:
Please create your own thread for your character.
[FIELDSET="Ancillae"]There will be six Ancillae characters.  No more.  If there are not enough PC's, I will fill the positions with NPC's.

Ancillae characters will have a brief session with the Elders in 1870 Perth and should have been embraced within 25 years of 1870.  After this session, they will do their progress of the Ages and advance to the Modern Nights.[/FIELDSET]
These are what I am expecting for a Ancillae character.  Please answer the following questions and/or provide the following:
  • A three sentence background.
    • Sentence one defines who the character is.
    • Sentence two defines where they came from.
    • Sentence three defines their weakness or character flaw.
  • A basic timeline, which includes the following:
    • Year the character was born
    • Year the character was Embraced
    • Year the character left Accounting (if they were under it at all)
    • The date they Sired any Childer, if applicable.
    • Any important events (Canonical or otherwise) they participated in
  • Why were you embraced?
  • Three plot types/elements that you are interested in exploring with this character.   This is to help get you involved and doing things.
  • Three things about your character that your character is not aware of.
  • Declare your cheese.  What is broken, cheesy, min/maxed, or surprising about the character?  Declarations should not be denied, but cheddar awareness is important for us.

[FIELDSET="Hypothetical Situation"][COLOR="Red"]Hypothetical situation: You are the Nosferatu Primogen of a City. The Ventrue primogen comes to the Prince because the Childe of the Toreador Primogen was caught feeding in area designated as Ventrue hunting ground. Also in court at this time besides the Ventrue Primogen, Toreador Primogen, the accused Toreador Childe, are the Malkavian Primogen, Gangrel Sheriff, and Tremere Regent. You may questions of any involved or present, should you desire so.  Do you get involved?  If so, how?[/COLOR][/FIELDSET]

Attributes: 7/5/3
Abilities: 13/9/5
Disciplines: 3 (all in-clan)

Ancillae

Solomon Wolf was a social sciences professor at the University of Western Australia for a number of decades before “old age” forced him to become a benefactor of the college through an established think tank known as the Society of Social Perfection.

Solomon first began his study of what would later be grouped as the social sciences at Oxford University where he was embraced by a former mercenary soldier known as Sagrimor (aka Sage Grimoire).

Solomon is obsessed with knowledge, especially on social engineering, and because of this has a tendency to overextend both himself and those around him in seeking just another piece of the puzzle.

1826 - Born
1846 - Embraced
1848 - Left Accounting
1887 - Began correspondence with Sigmund Freud
1907 - Began correspondence with Carl Jung
1911 - Became a member of the International Psychoanalytical Association
1924 - Among Brujah Idealists who arranged Lennin’s death
1959 - Present when Brujah Don Cerro was elected Justicar
1963 - Became a member of the Sociological Association of Australia and New Zealand

Why were you embraced?

Sagrimor had gone from a hedge knight to a mercenary soldier as a Kindred, and had ranged throughout Europe watching the world change before his eyes, and began to question not only his personal existence, but the very nature of existence itself. It was when Sagrimor happened upon a young Oxford student who bore a striking resemblance to himself that Sagrimor decided to embrace Solomon as his childe. The hope was that the young student would act as a surrogate son to Sagrimor, who would use the young kindred’s knowledge to understand the changes to society and help him maintain a grasp on his own self-preservation.

Three things about your character that your character is not aware of -
1. That Solomon was not the first “lookalike” childe of Sagrimor, or that his elder kindred sibling was destroyed.
2. That Solomon secretly has more “lookalike” kindred siblings.
3. A secretly occult psychological experiment was conducted on Solomon that resulted in a week of missing time/memory.

Declare your cheese.  What is broken, cheesy, min/maxed, or surprising about the character?
Solomon has seen enough natural and supernatural aspects of the world around him, that he is willing to believe that almost anything is possible. He has a strong passion for playing himself and others amidst a “court of possibilities” to see exactly how much is possible, especially in constructing at least a sociological version of a New Carthage.

1. How do you think an Elder handles the passage of time and their emotions over the course of decades and if not centuries? I think that the more successful elders perceive time as a series of cycles, weathering the cycles which are most detrimental to them, and riding high on the cycles that are most beneficial to them. Emotions are more difficult because it requires a delicate balance not to let the flames of emotion die out or to engulf the elder. I think that living vicariously through others may play a key element to both time and emotion.

2. Would you be the type of Elder who sires children or builds their power base another way? I would prefer to use ghouls, retainers, and others rather than children because it protects myself, but also allows for a diversity of tactics beneficial not only to myself, but my allies as well.

3. How would you handle the advancements in technology? Being connected to a university (and think tank if you like that idea) would allow the elder to acclimate to changes in technology at a distance and pace that prevent him from being overwhelmed, especially when he can farm out much of the direct interaction to his underlings.

4. What clan(s) are you considering playing? My initial plan is Brujah, but I can play Ventrue, Tremere, or any other clan that would be a good compliment to the other elders.
