Cole has short brown hair and brown eyes. He stands 5’10” and weighs 180 lbs. He has a slightly athletic build that he hides behind nondescript clothes. He likes to dress casually in jeans and t-shirts. Cole also has a habit of keeping the most expressionless face possible most of the time.
Personality: Cole can be as fun-loving or as hot tempered as the next guy, but he prefers to give the world around him a stoic attitude, revealing as little as possible about himself. Cole is an intellectual and generally considers himself pretty smart. Smart enough to know hidden things were going on in this world and find a mentor to teach him at least a little about those hidden things. But there is always more to learn, and Cole doesn’t let something as ridiculous as ego get in his way.
Background: Cole grew up in a small town in the South. His family may not be considered middle class by today’s standards, but they were for that place and time. Cole had a good childhood, made good grades, and had a shot at college which he blew. He just wasn’t able to skate through college like he did high school. That’s okay, delivering pizza and being an Uber driver paid better than people would expect.
With no major career plans, an apartment of his own, and a working internet connection, Cole was able to focus on one of the great loves of his life, conspiracy theories. It was tracking down a lead on one of those conspiracy theories that led to the door being opened for Cole to meet his mentor and begin his path as a Thaumaturge. He actually thinks he kind of has a knack for it, but a healthy dose of cynicism makes him wonder if the bottom is going to drop out of it all.
Concept Outline: Cole is living the dream that few ever get to achieve. Minimum responsibility, maximum freedom, a world of unraveling mysteries, and supernatural abilities at his fingertips to boot. If only his cynical side would let him enjoy it all. But just like he discovered before, there is more than meets the eye. Cole hopes to go along for the ride as long as he can, be he is cautious not to let it all blow up in his face.
Relationships: Cole’s dad Reese has worked for the local electric company as long as he can remember. His mother Rose has mostly been a stay at home mom, with a few bouts in retail and waitressing when needed. Cole has an older brother, Reese Jr., an older sister, Roxy. He also has a younger brother, Baxter, and a younger sister, Traci.
