His name is Whitland Xander Hobbes and he has surfed an ocean of endless probabilities across a multiverse that can be broken down into two components, constants and variables. Variables are things such as chaos magic or quantum mechanics that alter the very fabric of reality. Constants are the lynchpins that help hold the multiverse together. The fun part is that Hobbes gets to be both a constant and a variable.

In every universe, or at least the ones worth mentioning, there is a Hobbes. Something of a nexus point that helps hold the multiverse together by just being in existence. Like potatoes. Never visit a universe without potatoes. But each Hobbes gets to be unique in his own way, that’s where the variable part comes in. There is the black robed Hobbes who started out as a wizard with a relentless hunger for power. So much so that his motto became sacrifice all for power! He ended up making a deal with a demon so that every time that Hobbes was killed, he would come back even more powerful in his new incarnation. Pretty lichy right? That was in the Arduin universe.

There was a much more benevolent Hobbes who delved into wizardry and became rather famous as the Emerald Mage. He actually discovered his counterparts and dubbed them the Hobbes Continuum. He learned to summon his counterparts in time of need using a Hobbes Coin and had many adventures with a fixer from the Cyberpunk 2020 universe and a blue robed Hobbes called the Potentiate who was a cleric is the service of the God of Chaos. The various versions of Hobbes referred to each other as “Cousin” as if they were royalty.

You really don’t need to know all this, but it might help you along the way. You see there is another group of constant/variable hybrids out there and they are called role players. In fact, if you ended up here, you probably are just such a one. And the Here is a place that is also is known as The Hobbes Continnum. It is a lounge that allows access from multiple realities. Something of a way station if you will for those working to find their true selves, their true destinies, or just stop by for a chat between wondrous adventures (or character applications).

If you find yourself in a bit of flux, don’t be alarmed. You are likely just experiencing a sort of symbiosis between yourself as a player and yourself as a character. It’s because of the mage tech. Chaos magic and hyper technology combined to make The Hobbes Continuum lounge what is, or what it has the potential to be. There is a fine line when working with reality manipulation. So if you feel like a college student on the inside, but you look like a 35th century ninja on the outside, it is perfectly normal here.
