Mission 2: Team WaaaGH!

Gharuk looked disgusted himself and stuck his tongue out "Urgh! No. Have you ever tried dwarf? In a pinch, it's something to eat, but no...not when there's anything else to eat. This is for the little guys."

"I heard that eating dwarf made you constipated for a week."  Abighail says with a look that says no thank you.  "Well if it's for the little ones, it's only fair that they carry their weight."  Clapping her hands, she says "Come on fellows, we're taking dinner on the road!  Two per body, that's right, you get to eat what you carry.  Listen to uncle Gorgath and line up and then we can go."

15:10, Today: Abighail rolled 18 using 1d20+2.  persuasion.

He looks at Abigail as if to say 'what are you doing'.

Backhanding the half-orc (Markus) seems to only inflame his interest. Had Ghorza given him the cold shoulder, he might have just shrugged. But he licks the blood from his lips and looks positively enamored. That belch was awfully sexy too.

So he tries to win her over by getting out a few big carrots. "Hey. Carrots are good for you. Have some."

Mila meanwhile enjoys having Gharuk around. His help in the kitchen is appreciated, and the two are practically alone in the house as the others frolic around outside.

The kobolds run this way and that , bullied around by Abighail and Ghorgath. There is much confusion, some collisions, and a humorous moment as four kobolds turn around, trip and fall at precisely the same time. But they're sated and don't resent playing games as is.

"I don't think the rope guild is good for us. What lurks within wi sure to be something horrible. No, we should somehow find a way to get out of here." Mila chats with Gharuk, and he can feel her pinch his behind more often than not as she passes behind him. There's plenty to do inside. The groceries Markus brought are vegetables and some stale bread. The meat is chopped and made into manageable packs, just right for kobold transport.

Markus follows Ghorza around like a puppy, waiting for reaffirmation of her affection for him (another backhand would serve fine in that capacity).

Gharuk batted playfully at Mila as they worked; a few not-so-gentle knocks to show his interest. "Hah! Don't you worry about 'orrible things in the guild; me and my brother and my sisters will deal with that. Once we're all finished clearing out the place we can all settle in. Tomorrow, we'll nip off back to to the city. Abi is good with words; she'll talk to the guys in charge and see if we can't get them to send in stuff to fix the place up and get some proper food in. No need for you lot to go running off harum-scarum around the countryside looking for shelter and grub when we can set you up good, right here" The ex-sailor had an almost content expression on his face and spoke in a matter-of-fact tone, as if everything was already settled and a-okay.

Ghorgath continued to run the kobolds through simple drills for a few more minutes before dismissing them and redressing in his chain mail armour.

Ghorgath uses his second wind to put him back at full hit points.

Mission 2: Team WaaaGH!

The rope guild turns out to be a series of interconnected buildings with thick grey stone walls. They occupy most of the southern shore of the Slums district, blocking access to the Moonsea. The walls are covered with carvings and intersions suggesting ropes and braiding. The buildings are mostly intact, apart from the collapsed roofs and upper floors. There's a silence upon them / one might say, an unnatural one. On Boros' map, the rope guild is in A4 to D4; his map indicates that scouts have entered the east end and gotten away with a scare. The western end of the guild remains unexplored; scout teams sent there didn't return.

The entrance is in C3. The walls seem fairly thick, even if they are chipped by dragonfire here and there. The whole complex was apparently abandoned after the dragonflight a few years ago.

The entrance stands open, the wooden doors long since reduced to charred cinders. The inside of the guild is completely dark and silent. A sense of foreboding and unease emanates from inside.

Gharuk stopped and looked at the huge complex that was the Rope Guild. "Hrgh. Bigger than I thought. This could take a while." As they got to the entrance, Gharuk wrinkled his brow at Ghorza's suggestion. "I dunno sis; bunch'a kobolds running all over the place sounds tricky. Let's find somewhere to use as a base camp and get comfy; we're gonna be here a while." He settled his shield, tightening up the straps and drew the lash from his belt, holding it coiled but ready. He nodded at Abighail "I'm coming with, sis. Right behind you"

The small army under half-orcish leadership stops at the gates of the Rope Guild. The immediate vincinity seems less eerily quiet now that the yipping kobolds make the base camp in the entrance corridor. They even set up the cauldron, even though there's nothing to burn. Mila shakes her head and looks at them like one would at children playing. A few other kobolds tap down the corridors in the immediate vincinity. Those turn out to be quite narrow, almost claustrophobic, with a thick smell of dust and decay. Something must have crawled deeper into tha passages to die. Something big and smelly, and its last meal was beans and cabbage. The kobolds don't mind the smell, however.

Your friendly kobold seems enthusiastic about findnig treasure, and sticks close to Abighail.

Markus is still following Ghorza around. He keeps his distance, however, but his longing gaze is never far from her.

The corridors seem endless. What direction do you explore in?

Whilst everyone was busying themselves setting up shop near the entrance, Gharuk nattered idly, keeping his voice low. "That smell reminds me of the time ol' Brog hired those halflings; triplets they were and a fair hand at the ropes. Cheatin' little thieves at dice, too. Heh. Anyways, we stopped at this island; sunny sort of place, you know? Lot's of fruit trees. Most of us had the sense not to touch anything, but those stunties couldn't leave well alone and had et a whole bunch of that fruit 'fore anyone could say nuffin'. I tell you what, the stench those boys made that night puts this to shame. I swear, the paint was strippin. Most o' the lads slept on deck that night! Hurr hurr." Gharuk turned to his brother "So, which way we goin' first bro? OR we just gonna follow our noses?" He gave the group a toothy grin.

Whoever built the Guild was well aware of the Rule of the Right, and built many circular corridors into it. No, exploring this will take some old-fashioned mapping. Or sending the kobolds in all directions! After all, that's what a kobold army is good for, no?

Ghorgath digs through his pack and pulls something out. "I have an idea."

Holding up a full days ration pack, "Out there somewhere is a big beasty. The first one to find it, and come back here and tell us about it, gets this ration pack."

Ghorgath rolled 10 using 1d20.  Survival.
