Apple iOS: General Discussion
This thread is for general discussion for the Apple iOS app.  New features, design suggestions, etc can all start here.  If the topic is discussed, new threads will be started to discuss the topic.

Hey there.  I do iOS development for my real job.  I think this will be an easy enough app to work on, especially since Ninthbit has made his source public.

My plan is to start working on something this afternoon.  Not really sure how many people are interested in an iOS version, but if you are please answer this question for me...


What version of iOS are you currently running?

Thanks to Ninthbit I've got his code as a roadmap.  The consequence is that I have the basic application framework running, and I am able to authenticate and gather the feed details.

The app is set to use push notifications, and right now I am working on the server side script which will handle the feeds and sending push notices out.

This is apt to be the slowest part, as I haven't worked with PHP in about 8 years.  So I'm getting a refresher as I go along.

I've got the database setup, and I think I've framed out the registering/unregistering functions. I'm about to do a little testing on those in a few minutes.

Ah, I didn't realize the iOS app was much different from the Andriod version.

Thought you were making upgrades on what already existed for us.

No, I do a barely adequate job of figuring out what Java is doing.  I'm not sure about actually writing any of it.
