Thank you all! Mostly I slept, but I enjoy that, so it was all good.

You know that you have been playing D&D too long when you look at Cugel's turn undead, and have to remember you are playing 1st Edition and not 3.x.

I tend to sleep in ten to fifteen hour stretches, not sure many would call that a nap but me. My record was twenty eight hours straight! Good times...

Re: OOC - 5/21/2020

Ruddley, what's your take on Good and Evil as it comes to prisoners?  It will save some argument if you tell us your expectations, as DM, on moral obligations.

Yes, answering this would help.

Darn moral dilemmas. :)

In reply to Abigail (msg # 157):

Good conversation!
I wasn't quite sure what to do with these goblins, either.
If they are inherently evil, then do we slaughter them, as a prisoner?  Then aren't we evil, but it could prevent the goblins from harming helpless others.

Re: OOC - 5/21/2020

As I recall, creatures in this game are not inherently good or evil.  We found a village/ town of orcs, if I recall correctly, and were treated well there.

Of course, these guys attacked, so they are properly classified as enemies, at least.  (Or did we attack first?)

Re: OOC - 5/21/2020

It's AD&D.  We are in an endless mega-dungeon in which we have to escape with the most loot possible.  It's not really a forum for morality or realism, it's a test of player skill to survive, in my opinion.

It's up to Ruddley, though.  It's his game and if he says the distinction is important than I'll abide by that.

Re: OOC - 5/21/2020

I think once they have surrendered it would be morally problematic to just kill them. Especially for the Paladin.

Re: OOC - 5/21/2020

Is XP awarded only when we rest?  I ask because some of us from the first go around are verrrry close to leveling.

Which also raises: must we rest to level?
