Los Angeles
The limo rolled to a stop and you can hear the driver get out and walk over to the passenger door. When he opens it, you can tell that you're in an alley somewhere. The nearby streets sound rather busy.

"Okay!" Kendra said. "But I've never been here before..."

"Me either," Jo said.

"I have not been here as well," Alice added.

"Minor detail," said Polly.  "This is why I have a smart phone.  Where do we want to start?  There's a record store I want to hit, there are all kinds of restaurants, there's lots of other shopping, or we could just look around... Also, the sky isn't actually made of plastic.  It just looks that way."

"Sounds like a plan," said Polly.  "So what kind of music does everybody like?"

"Um, I guess pop music," Kendra said.

"Country," Jo said.

"I have not listened to much," ALice said.

"Well, we need to introduce you to some, Alice," said Polly.  "And we're going to a good place for that!  So let's go!"

Re: Los Angeles
It wasn't much of a walk before you found yourself standing before Amoeba Music. It was certainly a massive store, warehouse sized with shelves and shelves as far as the eye can see.

"Do you really have a record player?" Kendra asked.

Re: Los Angeles
"Nope!" said Polly, cheerfully.  "Look again-- this place doesn't just have vinyl.  They sell tapes, 8-tracks, CDs-- everything.  They even sell movies and posters and things like that!  And over there to our left is a big wall where bands advertise for new members... notice that they mostly need drummers."

Re: Los Angeles
"Two things," said Polly.  "One is that you can totally sing or play guitar without a band to practice with, but drumming on your own is kind of limited.  The other thing is that you can buy a guitar for like twenty bucks if you shop around, but you aren't going to find a drum kit for less than maybe two hundred.  I went to a punk show once where five bands were sharing one set of drums.  So, not so many drummers out there."

Re: Los Angeles
As you poke around, you find a lot of rare live recordings of a wide variety of bands and singers.

"Oh, cool!" said Polly, grabbing a few choice picks (including a rare live Reba McIntire concert for Jo).  "...I want to find some good Opera for Abby, too."

Re: Los Angeles
Once again, the section seemed to be filled to the brim with rare items. Like a vinyl transfer of Peter Schram's aria from Don Giovanni.
