Re: A Small Village in Lemnos
"Master! Master!" you hear the shadow cry.

"What?"

"Lady wants to ask you something!"

"What?!"

"Hihi!" called Polly.  "Hiiiiiiiiiii there!  I'm the Bright Noonday Sun, and don't worry about the stories about how I kill or maim people who don't answer questions correctly.  I came here to ask about what's up with the village, okay?"

"What the hell is this?" the figure before you said.

It was an older man, with white hair and a goatee, wearing a black robe.

"I think I just covered all that," said Polly.  "...Well, maybe you don't understand what I just told you about who I am.  I'm an incarnate power that punishes foolishness.  I came here to this village, and there's oddly no one here.  I'm kind of hoping that you are willing to tell me what's going on here, without anything bad happening."

Polly laughed.

"Foooooooolish," she sang.  "...maybe.  Tell me who you are, all right?"

"Oh, come on!" groaned Polly.  "Make up your mind, already!  If you own everyone in this village, you are clearly important.  If you want to play games, fine, but you're losing by being stupid, and the penalty game involves madness and horrible, messy death!  So, wanna try again?"

"They belong to me by way of my master. They shall be the first sacrifices needed to open the gates!" the man said.

"Oh, I get it!" said Polly.  "Wow.  Sorry, didn't understand that you were already there... Wow.  So.  Sacrifices.  Yeah.  Obviously, you'll need those... where are you keeping them, anyway?"

Polly laughed.

"Now, that's not actually true," she said.  A scythe was in her hands.

"I'm really determined to get something out of you.  Information, or maybe blood and bone.  I'm pretty flexible about that."

"...A knife?  Please.  Sunstroke."

Re: A Small Village in Lemnos
Your attack doesn't seem to have any effect. The man took the knife, drew it across his palm and flicked it at you. The blood became shadows that continued towards you.

(OOC: Toughness save of 20.)

Re: A Small Village in Lemnos
Polly Skladowska rolled 25 using 1d20+13 ((12)) Polly's white robes shone, and blood and shadows meant nothing to her.

"Well," she said.  "First round, nothing.  But I was being nice.  Second round now begins."

And she and her scythe, one and the same, were slashing.

Polly Skladowska rolled 24 using 1d20+8 ((16)) This is a Crit, so DC 28 Toughness save.

"Pointless to do that," said Polly.  "I'm a divine figure.  As I warned you.  So let's just skip to the point where you tell me where this shadow gate is, all right?"
