Re-Rolls and Bennies
It is an unfortunate reality of gaming at RPOL.net that the diceroller is horrid. It just is. It has a tendency to roll low a disproportionate amount of the time for no clear reason. The proprietors deny it vigorously, but the fact remains that it is wonky, to say the least.
To offset this, I am in the habit of offering free opportunities to re-roll to players. Borrowing from the excellent Savage Worlds game system, I call these re-roll tokens "Bennies."
You have two ways that you get Bennies:
1. If you have fewer than three Bennies when you take an Extended Rest, you get three after every Extended Rest. (Note: rituals that simulate an Extended Rest do not give you Bennies. You have to spend the time.)
2. You get awarded a Benny for entertaining roleplay. You will have many opportunities to gain these, so you can accumulate a decent number over gameplay, even in parallel to combat in "roleplay" threads.
To use one, simply declare use of it in Orange text in the IC thread and re-roll your roll. I will subtract one from your current total in this thread. You can use as many Bennies on a single roll as you want, up to your limit. They can be applied to any roll of the d20. With apologies, they can't be applied to any other dice. You continue rolling until you get a 10 or better. (This is not a guarantee of success, just a benefit for spending a limited resource.)
