Sadly, neither of Harald’s blows hit the invisible enemy.

The walkway bucks and pitches, nearly knocking Nemeroff off, but Gromley is saved by a rope that appears above him that he can grab onto. Nemeroff dangles over the abyss relatively safe for the moment.

The invisible enemy runs off and hides, no longer desiring to die in a combat with this absurdly powerful group! The rest of the group is able to make it out into the hallway. The creature foolishly tries to attack them a few moments later but is shredded by Zog and Vali.

Time for a short rest—let me know how many surges you’re spending and anything else you want to do during the short rest.

Zog then takes a long minute to rest. He hasn't been tried that sorely in quite a while!

He looks at the others. "I wonder what happened to the goblin witch? She vanished back there a ways. Maybe we should look for her."

Spend two healing surges to get to full. Other than that, nothing fancy.

"A plane of betrayal means that she is better gone." Agon agreed. He smoothed down his robes. Though he hadn't taken a hit in the running melee, he'd been tossed about a fair bit.

Zog looks up at Agon and sees him smoothing his robes. Looking down at his own clothes, torn in several spots, he laughs. "Hey, Agon, I think you missed a spot."

He nods to the others. "That's fine. Let's go finish our errand here. Maybe she'll turn up later."

The party takes a few long moments to sit on the stairs and gather themselves. Then they rise and ascend to the top of the stairs, where a pair of ebony-black stone doors await the party.

Any preparations before you go into the room where the owner of the plane almost certainly awaits?

The matter is rather removed from Harald as the doors whisper open of their own account. The master of the house is clearly ready for his guests.

A crystal ceiling allows dim light to illuminate this plushly arranged chamber. Eight crystalline pillars hold the domed ceiling aloft. A large statue of Tiamat stands toward the back of the room. Behind it, five alcoves pierce the wall.

A tall, gaunt, bald human clad in red robes trimmed with black edging stands before the pillar, an elongated ebon wand in hand. His sallow skin has fallen away in places, revealing gleaming white bones beneath.

"You have done very well to come to this point. I suppose I shall have to re-stock my minions now. A pity you will not survive to see the next iteration of this place. Come, show me what you can do."

He is delaying to let you all go. Yep, he's that confident.

ALL PCS are up!

Zog moves up and bows slightly before the air swirls around him. Flying forward slightly, lightning leaps from his hand and hits the lich squarely in the center of his chest. "We know how to defeat the like of you, servant of the dragon-bitch. We will first destroy your current body."

Move up, then Elemental Bolt + Elemental Escalation. Hits Reflex 41 for 53 hp damage, and the big I is vulnerable 3 until EOMNT to my elemental attacks.

Agon moved forward, defensive and offensive magics springing into existence.  He wanted to see what their enemy would do before using one of his more potent offensive options.

Harald whirled his axe above his head and launched himself at Irfelujhar.  It was all very well for the others to attack from range but he needed to get his hands on the enemy...to rip them head from body...or similar!

His axe swung at the liche as he also tried to barge the beastie off to one side.

Cloak
At the start of each encounter, you gain a +2 item bonus to AC and Reflex until an attack against either of those defenses hits you

Taking a quick drink of a potion, Nemeroff charged forward with Harald to deal with the lich in his usual way. A burst of fire and cold erupted from the glave as it bit into the undead creature.



Standard/Move Charge and use Fire lasher's lunge Crit for 29 fire plus 23 cold or 26 if it is a shadow creature.
Minor: Drink Potion of invulnerability (Spend surge and gain Resist 25 pts, all damage until EoNT)

Vali rolls up to the fallen master of the realm and hacks at him...

Double move, then Action Point to attack with Storm of Blades, hit AC 41 with Action Surge (no Benny) for 32 hp, AC 42 with one Benny for 28 hp and AC 49 for 31 hp. Disregarding the middle d6 rolls since he wasn't hitting with off-hand weapon as I thought and disregarding the Quarry roll. Total of 91 hp damage.

Minor to make him my Quarry.

”Very good,” says Irfelujhar, standing up. ”That was actually quite impressive. But it will not be enough."

His wounds are healing before your very eyes as he raises his hands. A blast of force cracks into the three closest heroes, driving them back.

He then mutters a spell and a field of necrotic tentacles erupt from the floor, almost grabbing Agon!

Irfelujhar stands and regenerates 50 hp. He uses a close burst 3, hitting Nemeroff, Vali and Harald for 26 force damage. Vali and Nemeroff are pushed back 3 squares and knocked prone; Harald is pushed back 2 and has to make a save vs. falling prone.

He then spends an action point to use a burst 2 attack on Harald, Nemeroff and Agon. Misses all three, missing Agon mostly due to Blur. The then spends a minor action to recharge the grasping tendrils spell he just cast.

ALL PCS are up! Harald, make your save vs. prone. If you make it, you are obviously not prone.

NOTE THE ZONE ON THE MAP. If you move into it, stop your movement and something happens.
Knowledge checks are not possible on Irfelujhar.

Gromley's awareness moves out of the zone of grasping tendrils-and into one of the alcoves Gromley spotted. He had read about such places-and knew the power they grant to those who stand in them. Gromley send to his awareness to another postion, while he and his disk stayed behind the doors. Through his awareness, used his power to grasp the enemy mage-and toss him into his friend's midst...

(OOC-Using a double move to get awareness to Black alcove. Spending an action point to use living missile on the foe. If I hit, foe is immobilized(Save ends), if miss-slowed(save ends). I can also slide the foe 11 spaces and make him hit someone else. I don't want to do that, but instead just move him into range of my allies and at the end of the move it will knock him prone.

17:30, Today: Gromley Underhill rolled 44 using 1d20+28 with rolls of 16.  Living missle vs Irfelujhar. Vs fort. Hit or miss-foe is moved to new location and prone.)
