Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 756):

The large key you took from Timeon's kill opens the gate easily. You notice a number of 1 foot wide pipes in the ceiling opening onto the floor of this room. The thing in the pen becomes more agitated as you approach.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

Broderick directs Smasher to toss the body over to Otty. When it is distracted they move to the opposite grate and open the gate, if they are able. If successful Broderick returns to the first gate Locks it then follows the others out of the caged area.

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 758):

Smasher dumpt the orc's body atop the locked cage, and after reaching through the bars to prod it, along with some snuffling noises, the thing in the cage begins to wail.

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 764):

Partway down the corridor are the bodies of vermin that were on the cart. Presumably this Burwash was bringing them in this direction.

As you glance that direction, you hear a thud and a squeak, as a rat falls out of one of the pipes on the ceiling and onto the floor of the room.

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 766):

A tentacle flails about  reaching for the rat.

"a long time."
As it realuzes the grate is unlocked, it lifts it with difficulty,  as the corpse of the orc is atop it, and then pulls itself out into the catchment room.
Covered in filth, the creature us about the size of a barrel, with three stumpy legs, a pair of long, spiky tentacles, and another, shorter one on top, with a number of eyes on it. In its midsection is a large mouth about a foot and a half accross, with large sharp teeth.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 768):

You currently have open: the gate to the catchment room, now occupied by the otyugh and the rat is is eating, and the otyugh pen, set into the floor. Not open: the second openwork gate in the back wall of the catchment room, that opens into the et tunnel.
Blocking the door from the outside hall into the catchment room is smasher, with adouble armload if dead rats.
Smasher needs to be instructed for each step of any action.

Clare Dearest, it looks like Otty would be useful if we come across any more of these undead rat things. That's if Otty is willing to accompany us. When its finished eating Broderick ask Otty to put the quills in the cart.
