Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 202):

The flooring of the right hand passage becomes quickly visible, the deep puddle ending after for or five paces, as the slabs making up the tunnel
slope upward gradually. Tnere is a bit of a gap between them, as each slab
further away  is slightly higher, as if it had been flat at one point and
suffered some kind of a collapse below. The ceiling, which is arched, is
Missing quite a bit of tile, and had a piece of what looked like
decorative ironwork acting as a brace. An area closer to the puddle had a simple cross beam, indicating repairs by different eras.

The corridor continues a stretch, and comes to a four way intersection
with a wider tunnel.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Narrator (msg # 204):

Coming to the intersection, Broderick asks if Clarence can shine his lantern about to reveal as much as he can about each location. This is to assess the passages, Broderick also attempts to determine if there's a breeze, if so which direction does it move.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 205):

Clarence swings his lantern about. At the intersection, there is a bronze
grate in the floor, presumably a drain. The cross cutting  north-south
corridor is wider and has tiling in better condition than the one you are
in, although the far (western) side of it looks a little better, the
flooring is fairly level, although sloping toward you and the drain.
The wider north/south corridor has a strip of mostly intact colored tile
at about shoulder height, where the ceiling starts to arch, a strip of
blue and green alternating tiles run as far as you can see.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

The north south passages looks promising however the better condition of the western way is probably better to check first. Steering clear of the grate he leads the group westward.

The westward corridor heads off as far as the light lets you see, but you can already see the glint of two pairs of gates on either side, about 8 yards apart.

Stepping away from the wall Broderick motioned for Clarence to shine the lantern into the closer gate. Using this light he quickly scanned the area then stepped back to the wall, where he assessed what he was able to see.

Within the gate is a long room, with archways to either side. Some, but
not all are bricked over. Down the center is a trench, with a ramp leading into it, filled with covered barrels.

The layout here is similar: this is the common area of a block's basement

In reply to Ludlow the Munificent (msg # 219):

Broderick nodded in agreement as he too had those thoughts. I was beginning to think that may be our best option as well besides Those other bricked up arches may be accessible or at least we can remove some bricks and see what's on the other side. Dealing with the Slorn may be something we can deal with if necessary

dumped without funerary rites into the common areas. I have fought ghulae, plague zombies and skeletons, and heard tales of wights, all
from the lack of respectful ritual, and fear of disease. For this reason
the walls were made, to hide those above from the dead tbey abandoned.
This is why trash is strewn in the streets, instead of being placed
below tor collection by the sanitation workers."

Interesting Thats quite interesting and One perceives could be used to our advantage. Broderick replies as the group returns to the intersection where the Slorn attacked them. Wearily slipping past the grate they return to the refuse room. Pausing at its entry to check of there are any threats.

There a quite a few rats, but other than that, the dead are staying dead. The area needs quite a bit of clearing up.
