"Ideally there won't be any need for violence, unless they're unwilling to treat with us in good nature. If everything goes pear-shaped, I suggest you treat matters like a puzzle." He grinned. The gate swings open with a squeak, revealing a 4 yard wide corridor that makes a turn to the left after a half dozen yards.

"Dellas, you might want to hang behind me with your bow for this stretch."

Ardenas moves forward just short of the bend on the opposite side of the corridor (i.e. "outside" of the corner), where he can see partially around the corner without exposing himself more than by the light from his lamp.
