Re: A matter of concern for the Hadereum
In reply to Urrun (msg # 788):

As goran is able to use lesser healing to restore 3 more points to Hograth, who while weakened, as no actual wounds, just a bit of necrotic tissue,  Urrun notices several things:

- a tripwire at the top of the stairs
- another set of glyphs three steps below that
- the sound of chanting ahead, of what sounds like one person who is leading the chant and a dozen who are following along, male and female
- a female voice that is humming along with the chant.
- the smell of many humans who have recently had intercourse
- the smell of a not-human female who has recently had a great deal of intercourse.
- the musky sent of a not-human male who has also been busy, but not with her.
- the faint smells of mold, incense, and flowers starting to rot.

In reply to Goran the Marked (msg # 790):

Assuming this information is passed on...

"That sounds like a cult with a Succubus. I am only at half strength, and probably not in a good shape to deal with such a group right now. I would suggest we go back to get healing and inform our superiors, before returning to deal with this problem."

There had been a temple of Flora and Janus somewhere on the hill, it used to have orgiastic rites, but you think it had been abandoned  for years.

You are all able to rest for enough time to restore your fatigue.

Does Hograth want to risk repeated healing magic?

Of course. The hit points are better risked now, than later, when it could be a matter of life and death...

In reply to Hograth Podkarmen (msg # 804):

An hour later, and fully restored, you head back up the steps, having gone back down to rest on the landing.

This particular temple must be higher in the hill, because the stairway goes on for quite a while. The musky scents Urrun detected earlier are much stronger, and you can faintly hear chanting.

You approach a landing, with an archway. A carytid on each side depict a woman and a two faced man. Flowers ate draped on them, which seem to be dying.

Hograth will stop and check for runes or other traps, to try to ork out the symbolism.

These seem to be standard depictions of Janus and Flora, although it is odd that the flowers are allowed to rot. They should be changed daily.

Ahead you hear chanting, and murmurs mixed with a few soft moans.
The chanting doesn't seem to make a great deal of sense.
