The adept comes up behind the first group, sword drawn and moves forward.

A number of arrows, charred bodies and boulders litter the roadway. Gorgath and Garethare climbig a rift i the right hand wall up the cliff, withthe ogre just reaching the top. Berry and her fire bresthing dog are at the base of the cliff.
No one is visible at the edge ofthe cliff at this time, unless Sorsha flies above.

The Adept starts climbing the path behind Gareth and Gorgath

Gareth mounts the cliff, fireball in hand, close behind the ogre, looking for a target.

The big ogre, with his newfound entourage, crests the hill and pauses to find the source of all these arrows.

Haveron also headed up to the crest to get a look at what was going on and where all of the enmies were.

In reply to Gorgath (msg # 802):

Five bowmen are about ten yards away from the cliff edge

Currently only visible to Gorgath

And beyond them are about a dozen spearmen, some of whom are actually wearing decent armor, and one man with an axe who is wearing heavy scale.

The archers loose arrows, all of which rebound from the mammoth knight's DeepGuard armor.

Gareth, right behind Goegath, will come up over the crest and throw his fireball at an archer.

Gareth's shot flies between Gorgath's knees, reminding the ogre of how he felt the morning after some heavy carousing, befor visiting a temple...

And the archer goes down in a screaming conflagration.

The other archers are drawing arrows, the spearmen set against a charge, and the bandit leaderadopts a defensive stance.

Gareth, after noting the spacing of the archers, ducks back down behind the crest of the cliff to cast another spell...a very familiar one. He a actually seems to be enjoying himself...

He waits to hear the arrows plinking off the deepgaurds armour before popping his head back up and targeting the largest group he can with his fireball.

"Smokin! Did you see them burn?" he says to no-one in particular, kind of like an excited kid.

[Private to GM: Lol, day of 10's. Rolled 10, 11 under skill to cast, Explosive fireball, 2d, so drain of 2 fp. 11 under skill to hit and 10 fire damage. Preferably target archers, but if he can hit more spearmen, he will. He will try to include the leader if numbers are all the same, but will not target the leader if it means reducing the total hit.]

The adept pauses beside Gareth and casts a spell, then walks up beside Gorgath and holds his great sword point up in front of him.

As Gorgath advances, Gareth nails another archer, and sets the bows and clothes of the two adjacent ones on fire. The remaing one turns and runs.
Adept Yisslitheniss is enveloped with the protection of his god.

The spearmen nervously get in formation.

"Oh, Goody. Formations! Cuddle up boys...I love formations!" He gives a signal, and fire starts raining from the sky at the formations centre!

As Gorgath advances on the line of spearmen, there is a crack of thunder and a whiff of ozone as streaks of flame begin to fall toward them, landing on some of the men's headresses and clothing, and creating puddles of flame on the ground.

The Adept advances alongside Gorgath, but with enough room between them to allow them both to use their weapons freely.

Gareth chuckles and brings more fire to bear. Looking for any mage or leader, he shares some of his fire with them. He is sure they want it...

As the spearman catch fire and break away, one collapsing as the fireball hits it, the more heavily armored man throws an axe at Gareth!
Dodge or take 10 points cutting to the torso.

Two spearmen engage with the adept, and three brace their spears against Gorgath.

Gareth ducks back behind the embankment, laughing with delight as the axe sails harmlessly past where he was just a heartbeat ago.

"Lovely shot, that. Lovely!"

He creates another fireball, especially for the axe thrower, this time pausing to grow it into a monster, before throwing it at him.

[Private to GM: Retreating Dodge, 4 under (would have succeeded on a regular dodge!) Cast Fireball, 3d, grown to 6d for 4 fp cost, rolled 7 under to cast , 8 under to hit, 24 damage...unless dodged. 3 rounds of action to do this. How far away is he?
Edit: Oh, and stop maintaining rain of fire. It has a minute duration anyway.]

The adept swings to remove the spear heads from the shafts, then takes a step back and defends.

Ahem. You launched a spell that second, not easy to do and dodge. You made a retreating dodge... on the edge of a cliff. You are now partway down the cliff, and out of sight of the axe thrower, and need at least a second to climb back up... with both hands, and then you can cast your spell.

The spearmen, one now holding only a stick, flee the area of the rain of fire, which will be going on for another 58 seconds

A little frustrated at suddenly finding the ground was not beneath him as close as he thought it should be, Gareth begins climbing back up. As soon as he does not need two hands, he creates his ball of fire.

The adept stays back out of the rain of fire.

I suppose I should probably help Berry says to her dog. Berry looks around to see if she has a clear shot at anyone.

Most are wounded, burning, and showing their backs.

Gorgath, sensing victory or at least a good fight, moves forward towards the remnants of the bandits while leveling his weapon at them,

"DEAD OR ALIVE? YOU CHOOSE!"
