On reaching the top again, Gareth will nonetheless fling his fireball at the nearest fleeing spearman, preferably the leader who threw the axe at him.

The fireball just misses the axe thrower, who has drawn a curved sword, and points at the lizardman and ogre with it. Hevis wearing brigandine and shield.

The fellow is about six yards away, and did not actively dodge... your mammoth fireball just missed him by this much. He is close enough to the Adept and to Gorgath for them to engage this round.

Well, it is not size modifier, and he is not that far away. Fireballs cannot be parried, and if blocked it would not have missed. Did it pass right through him, or did something curve it around him?

The brigand leader dodges the axe blow and swings his scimitar at The lizardman.

If you fail to dodge or parry, halve DR and take 11 points cutting after subtracting remaining DR.

To clarify his description,  he is wearing a mix of plate and chain equivalent to brigandine, although the plates are part of the mail, and is wielding a fine looking curved blade, and wearing an amulet.


The fireball previously thrown at him appeared to arc around him.

The spell would likely be missile shield, but there are no signs of him casting it.

The adept waits on Gorgath to do something so they can attack together and make his defense difficult.

He cast something else, more complex, and his jo glows with an eerie reddish-green hue. He then moves around his adversary, staying wall back as he does so.

Gorgath takes a very minor cut in his leg, 3pts after DR, so 5 points. The bandit lord still breathes but does not move... and a good thing the blow was deflected, as it might have destroyed the amulet.
