Darius and Masugatan make dx rolls, with +2 for extra care

Aegis notes the ale is middling, and suspects that Balir might have stronger drink someplace.

Re: Stalking Balar

Darius carefully lifted a foot, stepping over a tripwire. This was all rather easy, he thought... just as a stone under his foot slipped, and he lost his balance.

[Private to GM: OOC:
22:29, Today: Darius Kopaki rolled 16 using 3d6.  Walking over Traps vs DX+2; vs 14.

That's a failure by 2; almost would've been a critical failure...

22:36, Today: Aegis rolled 9 using 3d6.  soldier 11.
in units he's served with, hiding booz from the officers, and officers hiding booz from the men, is common place, and Aegis tries all the old familiar hiding spots for the good stuff, in camp...

Darius Make a dodge roll!

Aegis make a search rroll. Your soldier skill lets you know to look but does not substitute for search.

It might take as long a a minute each to disarm these traps; it is a long action.

Re: Stalking Balar

OOC: Darius Kopaki rolled 9 using 3d6.  Dodge (Trap); vs 8.
Failed by 1.

And, as far as I understood it, we're not disarming the traps but just trying to get past them.

03:15, Today: Aegis rolled 7 using 3d6.  IQ -5 default search (5 or less to succeed!).
Aegis sits turning the spit, frowning. The Ale was watery, with a bitter finish, lacking any real malty goodness. It would slake your thirst and raise your spirits, after enough, however... But as a drinker, he wanted to throw a good party.
"Say Balar. I know you have better drink than this. Come on, where are you keeping it..?

Darius, your ankle is snatched by a snare, and are hoisted into the air. Take a point of damage, make another Dodge roll, and also a per roll.

Dne, you are rested.

In reply to Aegis (msg # 894):

Given the level of competence around her, Reanna will check for hostiles before cutting Darius down.

"Whoever has a ranged weapon stay with me and guard while I disarm the traps you so love, the other person head back and find who is available to come and help out."

She will let them decide between themselves, once Darius is down.

Re: Stalking Balar

In reply to Darius Kopaki (msg # 893):

Once Darius was hoisted, one of the tree mounted crossbows fired at him, and the bolt struck him in the torso despite his attempt to dodge.

If he stays consvious, Darius now knows something about the trap layout as seen from above.

Darius takes 8 points impaling before DR! Make a HT roll!

Meanwhile Balar tells Aegis:
"Unroll the bedroll with the red braided cord tying it. There is a bottle of decent stuff there."

Re: Stalking Balar

The bolt struck Darius on the torso. The cloth his robe was made of offered almost no protection - the magic woven into it and the protection he'd invoked earlier did. The bolt fell back onto the ground, Darius following it more slowly as he was let down. "Thank you," he said.

[Private to GM: OOC:

Actually took no damage from the bolt; although any poison etc. is applied.

Darius Kopaki rolled 7 using 3d6.  Crossbow HT roll vs 11. -> success by 4.

At least I made one roll this scene...

"At worst, 'tis pizen..He dies, and we are out delivering him alive. Or, 'tis a healing potion, that would secretly improve his health, so he could get away, as we've not tied him... Or it could be brandy, as the man says. Can you discern the truth, from your Helios, priest?"
Aegis speaks without looking up, examining the bottle within.
